He stepped closer to me, and I slid my ass to the edge of the counter before rubbing the head of his thick cock between my wet lips. When the head was pressing against my pussy, I used the heels of my feet to pull his ass closer, and the motion pushed him into me. We groaned in unison, and he grasped my hips before withdrawing from me.

“Fuck, baby. You feel amazing,” he panted.

Slowly, he worked himself in and out of me, his gaze locked with mine. I felt tears threatening and I pushed them down. They weren’t tears of sadness or regret but of overwhelming love and completion. I never thought I would be able to share myself with anyone the way I do with Kade. He showed me that love was forgiving and kind, and sex was fulfilling and indescribably encompassing. As my walls began to flutter around his thick length, his thrusts grew in intensity, pushing me closer to another orgasm.

He pulled me closer and whispered into my ear, “Come for me.”

The sounds of slapping skin and panted moans filled the house, and sweat beaded on my chest as I felt the tension coiling in my belly. His abs flexed as he worked himself faster in me, and I reached up, placing my hand over his heart as my walls squeezed around him.

“Oh. Oh . . . Kade,” I shouted as I fell apart, feeling his heart beating wildly under my hand.

His thick length sawed in and out, forcing my orgasm to another level that had my body shaking against his. He kissed me, grasping my neck and pulling me closer as his thrusts became erratic. With a final thrust and sexy moan, he sank deep into me, filling me with his sticky seed. His forehead came to rest against mine, and we panted against each other as we fought to catch our breath. He opened his eyes, and I saw so much love shining back at me. I knew, no matter what happened, Kade would be by my side.

I just hoped he could forgive me for what I was going to do.

Kade helped me down from the counter and lifted me into his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he carried me to the bathroom. He placed me on my feet and grabbed a washcloth from the rack. After wetting it, he gently reached between my legs and cleaned the evidence of our lovemaking from my skin with a sexy smirk.

“I’ll grab our clothes before your brother walks in on my bare ass.”

I chuckled and watched him walk out of the bathroom, leaving me and my reflection alone for a moment. Looking into the mirror, I saw a ravaged woman who was loved where a broken girl who was lost once stood. Being with Kade gave me faith for a better future, not only for me but for him, Jacob, and Dalton.

He returned with his sweatpants and T-shirt covering his nakedness, and he handed my clothes to me before he explained, “I cleaned the counter with that bleach spray you keep in the cabinet.”

I tilted my head in confusion, and he leaned over and brushed his lips against mine before saying, “We kind of made a mess.”

I blushed, and he laughed as I redressed. The smell of pot roast and vegetables began to filter from the kitchen and my stomach rumbled from hunger. Kade took me by the hand and walked me to the dining room, encouraging me to sit at the table. The duffle bag was sitting on a chair next to me with the red notebook inside. There was no need to keep it. I knew Dalton must have found it when they cleaned Uncle Mick’s house last week, and I didn’t want him to know I found it. Or that I read it.

There was a lot about the MC that I was aware of, just from being around it most of my life. But there were lots of things I didn’t know, and I needed to tread carefully. The Death Hounds had a reputation that solidified one very important thing.

If you stick your nose in their business, they will cut it off.

Kade placed a plate of fruit on the table, and my stomach grumbled again.Damn weed munchies. He let Bear outside and grabbed the half-smoked joint from the railing on the deck before returning to the dining room. He held it in his hand and looked at me, not judging, simply curious.

“I had a lot swirling in my head today at the bakery, and I thought it might help.” I shrugged as I explained, and he sat down next to me.

“I wanted to talk to you about something before your brother gets here.”

I looked at the clock, and it would still be another thirty minutes before he should arrive, so I turned my full attention to Kade and popped a piece of kiwi in my mouth. He exhaled and glanced down at his hands on top of the table before he spoke.

“I want to find a bigger house for us. Jacob is getting bigger and he’s going to need more room, and besides, your tiny bed isn’t the best for my back.” His tone was light, but I could see the seriousness in his eyes.

Since he gave me my cut, we’ve spent every night here. He held me securely in his arms all night long, and he was right—this place was too small for a growing boy, a large man, a small woman, and a huge dog. Jacob and I lived here for almost five years, and while I would miss the drafty old house, it was time for a change.

“I think that’s a great idea. As long as Jacob doesn’t have to change schools and there’s a fenced yard for him to play.”

He smiled and replied, “I can handle that.”

He stood from the table and grabbed his laptop from the bedroom. Settling on the couch, he began to look for houses online, and I let Bear inside. The pot roast was close to done when I checked it, so I pulled the yeast rolls from the freezer and placed them on a pan to thaw. They would go into the oven when Dalton arrived so they would be fresh and hot.

“This one has a pool,” Kade remarked from the living room, and I walked in, peering over his shoulder to see the listing.

“Kade, I can’t afford that.”

He placed the computer on the coffee table and turned to look at me. “Darlin’, no one’s asking you to afford it. You’re my woman, and taking care of you is my responsibility.”

“But—”

He held his hand up and asked, “Are you my old lady?” I nodded. “Then it’s settled.”
