"It's supposed to berelaxingandcalming. Let me tell you that it's exactly the opposite. It's hard, and the chick on the video is annoying. Apparently, I have really terrible balance. I've fallen over twice.”
"Yikes."
"Yeah, needless to say, I don't think yoga is for me.”
"I'm sorry, beautiful. For what it's worth, your ass looks fantastic in those pants."
"How about I wear them while doing anything other than Yoga?"
I smile. "I think that is an acceptable solution." I give her a quick kiss before saying. “I have a little bit of bad news."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Sandy isn't going to be able to take Colton this weekend. She's having a colonoscopy."
“Oh man, that sounds like bad news for her."
“I know we were both looking forward to some alone time.”
She raises her arms to adjust her ponytail white she talks. "Drew, it's not that I think we are going to have every single weekend to ourselves until Colton turns eighteen. It's not a big deal."
“You know, you are handling this whole kid thing pretty well," I tell her.
"I'm realizing that he's not quite as much work as a baby. At least he can talk and walk and all that."
“I guess that's true. Natalie and I were still together when Colton was a baby, but she did most of the heavy lifting."
"Babies just freak me out a little. No offense."
I chuckle. "None taken. They used to freak me out too until I had one."
"Speaking of Colton, I wanted to ask you something."
"Okay." I draw the word out because I'm unsure what's coming.
With Ronnie, I never quite know.
"I know you said that you haven't had time to finish his room because you've been too busy with work... and me. Would it maybe be okay if I finished it?”
"You want to decorate Colton's room?"
"I mean, it would be one less thing for you to do. And I’m bored as hell andneedsomething to do.” She takes a quick breath. "I'm alright at decorating, and I could do it as a way to say thank you for letting me stay with you guys.”
I was right. I had absolutely no idea that she was going to say that.
She adds, "If you don't want me to, that's okay. You won't hurt my feelings.”
She never ceases to amaze me.
I set my hands on her thighs. "Baby, that is so sweet of you. I don't care at all, but I haven't gotten all the stuff yet.
She stops me. “I'll handle everything. You won't have to worry about any of it.”
“Okay. Go for it. I'll let you have free reign. Just let me know whatever you buy, and I'll pay you back."
She grins. "My endless boredom thanks you."
"I should be the one thanking you. I'm sure Colton will absolutely love it."
