I snorted. “You know your bitch, Arlette, gonna have a heart attack.”
“I don’t give a fuck about Arlette,” he said. “The ambulance will come get her when she passes out.”
“I got practice now, but… yeah. You can come get me later.”
“Bet,” he said.
“Alright. I gotta go.”
“Pretty?”
“Yeah?”
“Don’t ever feel like you have to hide that side from me again.”
I didn’t respond right away, but the smile on my face said enough.
“See you later, Pretty,” he said.
“See you later, Kendrix.”

Kendrix
I shot her a quick text.Pulling up, Pretty.
By the time I parked outside her place, I stepped out, straightened my jacket, and walked up the drive.
The front door cracked open. Sweatsuit hugging her like she was doing me a favor just existing. She turned, about to lock the door, and when she spun back around, she damn near jumped out her skin.
“Shit, Kendrix!” she clutched her chest. “Don’t do that! I know everybody in this area. They not stupid enough to try me. I can walk to the truck just fine.”
“Kids home?” I asked, nodding toward the door.
She blinked, slow. “Uhh… nooooo.” She dragged the word out, confused. “Rita took them to get hibachi since they begged for it for dinner. Why?”
I pointed toward the door behind her. “Can I?”
Her brows shot up. “Can you… what?”
“Go in.” My smirk widened. “I’m coming to collect.”
The look she gave me said she knew exactly what the hell I meant.
Her lips twitched. “Boy, please.” She shook her head, laughing under her breath. “I gotta get to the club, horny man.”
I stepped closer, tilting my head down until I could feel her breath on my lips. “Yeah, and I need to eat.”
Before she could smart-mouth me again, I kissed her. She tried to laugh against my mouth, but it turned into a soft moan that damn near had me losing my mind.
Without breaking the kiss, I pushed the door open. She backed up step by step, guiding me inside, her hand catching the edge of my jacket like she didn’t wanna let go.
We stumbled down the hall, her leading, me following, lips never parting.
By the time we hit her bedroom door, I had one hand on her hip, the other sliding up her back.
The second we made it into her bedroom, she spun on me, eyes low and wicked, lips glistening like trouble.
