Several people looked at Liam’ who smirked. Several Warriors came up to me. Chason, my Warrior, said, “Our future Luna is lovely and fierce. She’s the perfect partner for you, Alpha. I’m glad you have finally found her.”
I nodded, “She is perfect and I’m pretty damn happy about it myself.” The rest just nodded but didn’t say anything else. I heard several of them talking about it amongst themselves. “Our Luna is fierce.” Another said, “I hope she can teach me some of those moves.” Oden growled but I knew as he did Melanie would be in the gym teaching.
Liam walked up telling me, “You are lucky none of my girls are here.” I nodded, “I know. Cory linked me that earlier.” He shook my hand, “I’m proud of you and I’m damn proud of her. I’m with Dylan over there. Empathetic dad pride all around. Should not Ashley turn out to be who I think she is.” He’d already basically said he knew who she was.
Dylan snorted, “I know that you know, that I know, that you know exactly who she is. Your pride is not misplaced, still Lead Warrior Liam waiting on your oldest son to challenge you so you can retire.” Liam laughed and walked out with Cory who shot me a look.
Dylan clapped, “Ok, Yellow River Pack has stewed and marinated. Come on Claire’s cronies! Let’s get you popped back to your pack. I sense bad things coming your way.” He rubbed his hands together saying, “Oh yes indeedy Dylan does. Claire, with your broken back hang tight. Gosh, broken back that’s a rough one. Only two people could heal you so you could shift again and alas neither will.”
He warned, “Momma Bear Super special fun sized Fairy Ninja Goddess is coming y'all. She’ll make her brother with his fire hands set you on fire. Repeatedly. I’ve seen it happen. Bad days in store for you. Yup. All bad. Enjoy this brief reprieve before you die so young. You are so dumb, it’s sad.”
Dylan shrugged, “Oh well. You had so many chances. You should learn to ask questions. Let all of this be a lesson. We do not take things from strange Witches. I myself have taught Buttercup and her siblings this lesson. MANY times. There is no taking things from strange Supernatural’s. Ever.” Oden hummed, “Valid point.”
Dylan snorted, “Honestly, stranger danger people. Stranger danger. People do not generally come up and hand you a weapon out of the kindness of their hearts. Just consider that food for thought that could save your life.” My brother popped them out.
I popped to Melanie and took her to a private spot on the mountain. Phil linked, “Let’s go home he said. It will be fine, he said. It went to hell SO FAST. That was a great first impression for your mate and mine of our pack. Though mine seemed to love it somehow.”
I replied, “It wasn’t because of our pack members. Technically speaking.” He lamented, “Our pack put our literal worst foot forward and my mate is jazzed about our pack life. I REALLY hate Black Path, cousin. I’m portalling Sierra and myself back to Switzerland. I’m sure we will hear you two so very soon I’d imagine.” He was not alone in his assessment since I didn’t like Black Path either. I replied, “You definitely will hear us.”
The situation all came roaring back to me. Melanie fought for me. Oden chimed in, “Not just that, but she fought for us as her mate.” I couldn’t take her to see Alpha Theo since it was all hush hush. Dylan would easily convince Alpha Theo it would be fun to keep this secret.
The added bonus was that Alpha Theo wanted Ashley’s trust. Not telling anyone about this would be huge points in his favor. He’d probably give Dylan trouble, but he’d intend to keep it secret all along. Plus, Lux, Alpha Theo, and their entire family HATED Claire.
I knew that Claire went after his younger brother, Harrison, first. Harrison had really liked her. She had him convinced she was his mate before he turned eighteen. Then she tried to seduce Lux. Literally still smelling of sex with his little brother. She’d left Harrison sleeping in his bedroom and went to Lux’s.
Lux called his brother on the phone and Harrison heard every word that was said between Claire and Lux. The poor guy. I couldn’t blame the family for not liking Claire after that. You try to separate siblings, and you deserve the hate you got.
Oden scoffed, “Not to mention it’s offensive to not shower. They are brothers. He would’ve smelled it if she had showered but show just a modicum of respect for Lake. To even suggest he’d do that to his brother is asinine.” I agreed since it wasn’t a shared mate deal. No wolf, full blooded or hybrid, was part of a trio.
Oden was growling over our mate’s familiarity with Lux. I knew Lux pretty damn well and I knew Alpha Theo had said Lux liked Ashley. Except she was Melanie, and she was MINE. I kissed her possessively. She was MINE! She wasn’t leaving our bed until my scent covered her.
I forced myself to pull back because she wanted to look around. I noticed a group out of the corner of my eye. They were leaving quietly, and they’d definitely seen me kiss Melanie. They were young enough they’d probably never heard a description of her though.
I took her over to the edge of the mountain to overlook the area that my parents had us come to see all the time. I wrapped my arms around her. I should have let her enjoy this moment, but I had to touch her. She melted right into me and told me to pop us back.
The second we were in our room my lips were on hers. I pushed her back into the wall letting us consume each other. Her scent was driving me crazy. I snapped her pants off as she lightly bit my top lip. I growled and kissed her neck.
I linked her, “You have no idea what you do to me.” She spoke out loud, “You do it to me too. You are NOT hers!” I chuckled, “No my little dancing Warrior Lovebug, I’m yours.” I slid into her. She gripped my shoulders as I started out slowly.
She begged me, “Faster... please Xander… move faster.” I bit her neck through her shirt. She shuddered against me then screamed my name. I opened my eyes, and nearly faltered. Her skin was literally glowing. It looked like there was an electricity building around us.
What the fuck?! A force struck my chest that came from hers, but it didn’t hurt. Oden purred as I came from the sensation. Melanie passed out in my arms afterwards. I held her limp body. I laid her down before asking, “Lovebug? Are you ok?” She didn’t answer.
I snapped sweats onto her, and I took her pulse. It was fine. My healing light said nothing was wrong, but it had to be. Right? I asked my wolf, “Would you care to say something here?” He just purred in response.
I linked Phil, “Get Elias’s pack doctor back here! NOW!” Phil grunted, “On that. Is everything ok? Your healing light would fix her if something was really wrong. I know that, which means you do too. Somewhere in your, never having chill about your mate, soul.”
I answered, “I don’t know. My healing light says nothing is wrong, but there has to be.” He snorted, “Uhh ok. I’ll pointlessly get the man here.” I held Melanie’s hand. I told her, “We will figure this out.” The doctor came in and checked her out.
He announced, “She’s fine. I’d venture a guess she’s probably just tired. I can smell what was going on here. You probably just wore her out, Alpha Alexander.” It definitely wasn’t that. He nodded to me and scurried out.
Phil came in asking, “Is she ok?” I shrugged, “The doctor said she’s fine.” Phil snorted, “As does your healing light, but you clearly don’t believe either of those details.” I sighed, “It’s not that I don’t believe him or my healing light. It’s just that something weird happened.” Phil rolled his index finger in a circle to indicate I should continue.
I asked, “Where’s Sierra?” Phil smirked, “You are not the only one who sexed your mate to sleep.” I admitted, “I don’t think that’s what happened. She was glowing.” Phil shouted, “SHE’S PREGNANT? How is that possible? She didn’t go into heat!”
I couldn't deny that I’d like it if she was pregnant with my pup, but that wasn’t the glowing I meant. She’d glowed for a moment, and it wasn’t the glow of a pregnant woman. I shook my head explaining, “No, not that type of glowing. This was like in those cartoons when you see lights around someone. That probably doesn’t make sense. It’s like she was electric.”
Phil raised an eyebrow clarifying, “You’re saying your mate lit up like Pikachu before electrocuting people? Is that what you’re saying?” I winced, “I don’t exactly like the comparison, but the visual fits. A bolt shot from her chest into mine, but it didn’t hurt me.”
