EJ sighed, “Mav?” Cassie popped in with Cayden. Tristan growled, “WHAT?! He was there when her wolf was suppressed? Robert was out of town on her birthday so that’s possible. What car accident? Mom and Ladybug’s car wreck?”
Gage answered, “Yes.” Maverick offered, “He admitted it to both of those things.” Gage said, “He said more things he should’ve kept his mouth shut about. I’m pretty sure if not for spelled cookies y’all in Red Run would’ve killed this dumbass WELL before now.”
My eyes had long since been blazing. I told Robert, “Get the fuck up, you traitorous BASTARD!” Robert stood and I attacked him. Oden took over and pinned him. My wolf demanded, “Show me your wolf, NOW!” His wolf came forward.
Oden growled, “HOW DARE YOU KEEP MY MATE FROM ME!” His wolf instantly submitted, “I don’t know how you got him to let me out. I’ve tried to help the girl. I tried to take over so many times. I feel protective of her, but my human just wants her. I’ve told him she’s not ours, but he’s determined to have two women who aren’t his. Well, three technically. The Omega is not ours either.”
Oden growled, “Are the other two my mate and my brother’s?” Oden meant Elise. Robert’s wolf nodded, “Yes. I’ve tried to tell him to let the poor Omega go. To release her from the spells binding her. She’s a nice girl and so is her wolf. He’s using her in more than one way.”
EJ was now snarling. Robert’s wolf lost the hold he had, and Robert came back. I punched him in the face. I heard a pop. My mom declared, “THAT IS EFUCKINGNOUGH!” I turned to my mom, surprised. She looked at me saying, “Your driving emotion is guilt. Cut that the fuck out right now!”
Mom turned addressing the larger group, “All of you cut it the fuck out. Melanie doesn’t need your guilt. Shitty things happen to people all the goddamn time, unfortunately. She needs a lot of things from us, but Melanie does NOT need a fucking reason to feel even worse about this shit.”
Mom told me, “Alexander, you had NO way of knowing Melanie cried out for you and,” She held out her hands and Robert’s foot exploded off his body. He screamed. My mom practically snarled, “fuck you Robuffoon and your tattle telling fucking mouth!”
She shouted, “You jealous, spiteful, and full of fucking hate son of a bitch. The ONLY thing you have to gain by telling my son that was to hurt him. I’m done with that shit.” Mom turned to me, “You feel guilty, hell everyone here does. It doesn’t help us to move forward. You KNOW Melanie doesn’t want you to feel fucking guilty.” I did know that.
She continued, “Melanie wants to understand what happened, why and how. I speak from experience when I say people feeling guilty over shit you went through is painful. It’s part of why people keep things to themfuckingselves.”
“Because people feeling guilty over your circumstances isn’t what you want. You would’ve been there for her if you could, and Melanie knows that. She loves you and it’s plain as day for anyone to see. All the things she’s done line up to that.”
Roberts snorted, “The hell they have. Your precious Melanie is a fucking Huntress. She kills defenseless Omega’s.” A woman stepped up asking, “Like me, Robert?” I frowned because the woman who had spoken was Talia.
Robert gaped, “No! You are dead! You can’t be here!” Talia snarled, “Melanie didn’t kill anyone who didn’t deserve it. So, don’t you talk about her like that. You aren’t worthy to say her name. You have NO idea the things Melanie does for people, so just shut up with your hatefulness.”
I asked, “How do you know Robert?” Talia stared at Robert and answered me, “He spends a lot of time around the forgotten packs, Alpha. He likes watching people’s pain. If you want to talk about someone who has killed defenseless Omega’s, Robert has.”
I was not alone in my growl. Robert snarled, “SHUT UP, WENCH!” I punched him in the face snarling, “You don’t talk to our pack members like that, Robert.” Robert growled, “How is she even here?”
Gage snorted, “Dude, she just fucking told you how. T, are you as mad about these cookies as I am? Like he would’ve died SO long ago. He’s dense as fuck.” Tristan growled, “I am more mad about the damn cookies than you are.”
Talia rolled her eyes saying to Robert, “The answer is obvious. Then again you never were one for the obvious. You’re just a little marching solider who is too dumb to realize that no one in charge cares about you. You’ve been blinded by anger and other’s agendas.”
She shook her head saying, “You threw your life away, Robert. You tried to beat Melanie down, but you didn’t succeed. She is easily one hundred times the person you could ever be. She had more of a right than you did to be angry.”
“Melanie could’ve turned a blind eye to things she saw, but she never did. You joined the evil doers and reveled in their evil deeds, whereas Melanie fought against them. I hope they torture you for decades. I told you that last day karma eventually comes around, here’s yours.” She spit in his face and walked away.
My mom said, “If I haven’t said it lately, I REALLY fucking like that woman. There has been so much sass around here lately. It’s afuckingmazing. See Robuffoon? When you mess with badass bitches, you get your ass kicked.”
She glanced at EJ and I, “Now, you boys have a pack member who needs you. Abigial has been with her since Melanie made that order and she’s doing an amazing job. Karina needs to hear from her Alpha’s though. I’ll deal with snapping the hospital back to its normal state and I will absolutely deal with Robuffoon.”
My dad cleared his throat. My mom sighed, “With your dad. Not that I was planning to kill Robuffoon. I’m just going to ruin his whole fucking day.” I closed my eyes. My mom touched my cheek and whispered, “Own the amazing meself raised own to actin. The actin plas own to Karina. Lim canbe distraught. Lim needs to outa lims alpha. Melanie canbe. Lim canbe, addto point. Own negg act point Alexander. Point canbe negg (You are the amazing man I raised you to be. The gym will be there after you speak to Karina. She is distraught. She needs to hear from her Alpha. Melanie is fine. She is here, and those that did this will pay. You did not do this Alexander. This is not your fault).”
I sighed, “Lim canbe Melanie meen. Dat feels canis dat's meen (Melanie is my mate. It feels like it's absolutely my fault).” My mom sighed, “Own addto owning to. Mil understands meself act. Sper branakes. Meself feelings cwizion group, tho point canbe negg fucking (You need to speak with your dad. He understands more of your side of things. Just know that I understand feelings are what they are but this is not your fucking fault).”
I nodded, still wanting to beat the shit out of something. EJ grabbed me and we walked towards the packhouse. He linked me, “I can handle this while you go to the gym.” I shook my head. He sighed, “Alexander, it’s ok.” I replied, “No, I am an Alpha first. A pack member in need comes before what I need.” EJ gripped my shoulder as Gage caught up to us.
We walked into the packhouse. I could hear Karina’s sobs all the way down here. I winced as I walked up the steps with EJ. We found Elise and Abigail in the room gently petting Karina’s hair. Karina sat up and bared her neck apologizing, “I am so sorry Alpha EJ and Alpha Alexander. I have no excuse. I should’ve known better. This is all my fault.”
I stepped into the room and sat down, “It’s not your fault, Karina. We are your Alpha’s, and we should’ve protected you. Robert manipulated you and used magic on you for years. We should’ve stopped that, and I am truly sorry we didn’t.”
Karina cried, “None of us could because I was giving you the cookies. I hurt the Muffin Luna! She could’ve been here all along, but because of me she suffered.” I argued, “Again, I’m going to disagree. Robert is to blame, not you.”
EJ linked me, “Something about a pot and kettle, little brother.” I glared at him. Gage linked, “I know EJ said this wasn’t your fault either, but I’ll add my two cents. You tried. We’d all find shit weird then have a cookie. Magic let Melanie down, not us.” They weren’t her mate.
EJ spoke out loud, “I know you told Elise you want to be punished, but we won’t have that. Cassie spoke to you already with Abigail. You had no knowledge of what you were doing. There was no malicious intent on your end. We do not punish people for that. Robert is and will continue to be punished as the traitor he is. Melanie herself wanted us to help you.”
Karina cried, “I know. She sent Gamma Female Abigail to watch and protect me. Then her friend, future Luna Paige, stopped by before she went to the main house. Luna Paige gave me a drink and explained what it would do. I’m so stupid. I thought my wolf was so quiet because I’m an Omega, but she’s not! They were giving me doses of a potion to keep her quiet all this time. I gave him everything and now my mate probably won’t want me.”
