Addison asked, “His dad? I thought you liked him and were confused on how Robert could be his son.” I snorted, “You’ve never seen Robert, have you?” Addison thought about it before answering, “Not yet. He’s avoided us. Jason said he’s not but he’s literally the only person I haven’t met. Adeline REALLY wants to see you again.”

I ignored that and said, “Robert is avoiding you because he looks like his dad. They have the same cold, dead eyes.” Sierra gasped, “NO!” Addison growled, “Alpha Ezra is his dad?! Like biologically?! How is that possible?”

I snorted, “You know how. The practice was done in Black Path until I showed up. Robert’s dad, the man who raised him not the biological one, is from Red Run. He traveled to find his mate. I’d put money on the fact that she was from Alpha Ezra’s pack.” I could find out.

I added, “Clearly, they didn't leave after he marked her. You know what happened after that. They drugged Robert’s dad and sedated him when she went into heat. He was a visitor, so they would’ve made sure he saw nothing. Alpha Ezra took the first day or two of his mom’s heat then she was with her mate for the last day. That’s standard in the forgotten packs. Robert is the result.”

Addison growled, “GOD I HATE THAT RAT BASTARD! His mom has to know.” I sighed, “I’d imagine she does or she’s in denial over it.” I would be but I had another theory. Before Robert was old enough it was likely his mom gave Alpha Ezra information.

I would imagine it was nothing harmful, or so she thought. She was a very nice person. I’d have to talk to her eventually, but I’d protect her. She was a pawn, who was abused and manipulated. She came over to see me every time she found out Robert had hurt me, crying and apologizing profusely.

I had no doubt in my mind that she was a victim, and I stood for those people. I looked ahead and calculated my plan. I told my friends, “I am going to cut Robert’s car off, and ruin his whole day. Bye guys.”

Sierra sighed, “Be careful. I’ll check in with Abigail while she’s on her task.” Good. My friends and Abigail would understand Karina’s plight more than anyone from Black Mountain because of the packs we’d been in.

I ended the call and drove Robert off the road into Blue Moon’s territory. He jumped out of his car shouting, “What the hell is your problem?! Who the hell taught you how to drive?” I took off my helmet and saw his shock.

I replied, “Someone very good at driving. Hello, Robert. I’d say long time no see, but that would be a lie… wouldn't it? We’ve seen each other since I turned fourteen.” Robert sneered, “The dancing prodigal daughter returns.”

I shot back, “You knew where I was, and don’t even bother lying, I remember everything. I’d be VERY careful what you say to me. What would everyone think of all the things I know?” Robert gulped, “You wouldn’t dare.” I would.

I replied, “All in due time, Robert.” He was slowly edging up on me. I heard Dylan squeal, “MELASHLEY is here!” I heard the guy who followed me get here too. Robert growled and tried to hit me, thinking I was distracted.

I punched him and flipped him onto his back. Dylan yelled, “FIGHT! NO ONE DARE TO STOP THIS!” I mocked Robert, “That move didn’t work when I was a pup, and it certainly doesn’t work now. You should know that I’m easily ten times the fighter you will ever be. You’re just like your dad.”

Robert snarled and jumped up, “I’ll take that as a compliment.” I snorted, “It wasn’t meant to be one. He’s evil and so are you. Traitor.” Several gasps echoed around. I pushed, “You’ve been using Karina and spelled her somehow. You are working with a Coven and betraying your pack.”

Dylan gasped, “OH MY GOD! She’s now part of my show people. NO ONE MOVE! OR BREATHE! SILENCE BY ALL WHO ARE NOT ME IS GOLDEN!” The man who followed me said, “I think we need to know how she knows that because she does. I’ve seen her attempt to lie.” Umm rude… I mean it was also accurate….but rude. I knew lying was not my strength.

Robert smirked saying, “You don’t know everything I did.” Dylan hummed, “Ummm do my ears deceive me? Because I believe he just confirmed everything MelAshley just said was right. That was by far the easiest someone has admitted to their wrongdoings without my goddess present. He just admitted he was a traitor without blinking.” He did.

The man who’d followed me agreed, “You’re right he did confirm it, and he seems quite proud about it.” Dylan shouted, “NO ONE TOUCH ME, I AM UNSTABLE! Prepare a doctor and a bed. Our paralyzer shall pulverize him then we get to hand Red Run their traitor. GOD! What a time to be alive and to be me!”

Robert tried to hit me again, so I punched him in the stomach. He wheezed, “You brother was looking into the cookies because of your obnoxious ass. I had to stop him.” I blinked at him. The only one who could’ve got hurt because I wasn’t looking out for them was my oldest brother.

Freya said, “Your memories tell me that he did promise to look into them.” That was true and I knew my brothers would never break a promise to me. I asked, “Tristan?” Robert grinned then boasted, “I put him in the hospital.” What?!

He continued, “I ran him off the road in an ice storm and hit him in the head with a baseball bat for good measure. I left him there to die. It’s a shame someone saw his car and called an ambulance. People were sent to the human hospital and spells were cast. We just couldn’t have him remembering any of that since he was regaining consciousness when I got to him. Or remembering about your cookie theories.”

I heard several snarls. The man following me groaned, “OH SHIT!” Dylan shouted, “You done messed up now traitorous Red Run wolf who has harmed Beta T. I find I do not like you, not one bit. To be fair, I’ve said you were the WORST since you were a pup. A pup who went after a younger PUP’S TOY! I told you thusly, Lucas. Come on paralyzer, get him!”

I saw red and snarled and felt Freya in there. Robert was taken aback. I snorted, “You should know I have my wolf. I know you saw me come home with Xander.” Robert shot back, “His name is Alexander.” I snarled, “YOU WILL CALL HIM ALPHA!”

I attacked him and screamed at him, pretty much determined to lose my voice. Sierra linked, “I have learned things. The man following you is KJ. He’d been in New York with the fake you for Eric.” Good to know.

I didn’t answer because I was focused on the sicko in front of me. Everything he did to me when we were pups came barreling back. Then he’d gone further and helped keep me away from my family. Away from Xander, because of his father’s sick agenda.

Someone tried to get me off him, but I didn't let them. Robert had hurt my family. He’d been hurting Xander and his family. He hurt that Omega who just liked to cook. I noticed Robert’s phone had fallen out of his pocket and quickly put it in my own.

No one would tell Alpha Ezra Red Run had caught the traitor now. The Resistance could use that. Robert was unconscious, which annoyed me. I’d pushed anyone who’d tried to stop me from hitting Robert away repeatedly. I was over Robert and his treachery.

I heard my dad tell me to stop. When did he get here? I felt the tingles on my arm stronger than they’d ever been. I struggled against him before leaning into the tingles and crying. Robert had stolen years from us. Because of him… Xander and I been separated. I’d spiraled… I did save a lot of people though. AH! Conversations were happening around me, but I was just trying to breathe in Xander’s sugar cookie scent. Julian walked over and granted me the peace of the earth and sky.

I responded in Fealish and could practically taste Xander’s surprise shooting up my foot to my tongue. Xander’s surprise turned to lust so fast when I spoke Latin that I was hoping no one could smell my arousal. My mate popped us away quickly, thank goodness.

Then he began to claim me. I couldn’t deny earth and his lips. Freya linked me, “Say something else in Latin.” I asked, “Why?” She chuckled, “You are so innocent. Just say something. Any words will do.” I was trying to think but Xander’s lips were making it hard. His lips left mine to nibble on my neck and I whimpered.

Freya urged, “Come on Melanie say something in Latin. Hit me.” I whispered out loud, “Quod Xander bonum sentit. Quaeso nolite prohibere (That feels so good Xander. Please don't stop).” Freya laughed, “Better than nothing. We will work on that.”
