Haley popped in and grabbed the special plate I’d set out for her. It was pink…so it was obviously for her. She snorted, “These really are fucking good. We are going to have the BEST fucking cherry pie this year.” I blushed.
Eric kissed her before assuring her, “I already have the best cherry pie every year, Angel. Because you make it.” Haley snorted, “Yes, well now no bitch will make you a better fucking pie than I do because my daughter in law, niece in law, and I are going to make the most kick ass pie of all time.”
I bit my lip knowing someone had actually said that her. Then maybe…in retaliation of them upsetting my Xander’s mom…. I poisoned their pie, and they died. It was sad… so, so sad. Freya cackled in my head. I explained to my wolf, “Well, she cried and stayed in the kitchen trying different recipes. She stopped once Eric got word that lady died… so…I helped.” Freya hummed, “Yes, I have your memories.”
Zoe bumped my hip boasting, “Everyone will talk about our food.” Xander squeezed my waist lightly. My mom asked, “Will you teach me how to make those eggs you cooked up yesterday? Your dad loved them.” My mind blanked.
Freya said, “Sugar said they really mean it.” I gulped then nodded, “Oh.... ummm… sure.” My mom smiled, “Maybe we could go home, and you could come over…” Her words faded so I couldn’t hear anymore, but I could see her mouth moving. Xander’s grip tightened around me.
Xander linked me, “Lovebug?” I replied, “Water... I need water.” He snapped me a cup and I quickly drank it. My voice shook when I said, “I could show you here… here is good. You’re here… I’m here… so yeah. In conclusion, here is good.”
My mom immediately said, “Of course. There’s lots of space too.” I nodded, “Yeah… space... so much space, and lots of supplies and ovens. So many ovens.” Abigail whispered, “Is she ok?” No, she was not. Freya snorted, “Clearly since you referred to yourself in the third person.” Xander kissed me.
When we broke apart everyone had left the kitchen. I frowned asking, “Where did everyone go? Did they eat all the muffins already?” Xander snorted, “Max conjured them to the office. Are you ok?” I whispered, “I can’t… I can’t go in my parents’ house. They died there… but… they didn’t… but they did…and so did T…but he didn’t.”
Xander squeezed me whispering, “Hey, you don’t have go in there. Ok?” I nodded against his chest, and we just stood there for a while. I pushed myself back, “You have a meeting, don’t you?” Freya snorted, “You have his calendar.” Which is why I was annoyed I didn’t know they were meeting with Clay. I had their calendars.
Xander shrugged brushing it off, “EJ can handle it.” I frowned, “I’m supposed to be one of your solutions, not one of your problems.” Xander grabbed my chin, “Hey, you will never be a problem. I’m your mate. If you need me, I’m here.”
I hummed, “Ok, I do have something I need... no want… no need... well…I want to go talk to Edward.” Xander raised an eyebrow asking, “Why?” His face clearly said he didn’t want me to talk to them. Which made sense because he was an Alpha whose mate was hurt by those people.
I answered, “I want to know if he knows where Booker would go... and well… I think you’re going to growl but… also Trevor.” Xander growled and wrapped around me possessively. My table to predict his reaction to Trevor was right. Fist pumping would probably be inappropriate. Freya snickered, “Yes, it would.”
He picked me up and put me on the counter. He buried his face into my neck while nipping at my one day marking spot. I whimpered feeling tingles explode all over my body. He snapped my pants off and slid his finger inside me.
He whispered, “You are so wet, but you have to be quiet Lovebug.” I trembled in his arms. I bit my lip as he began to increase his pace. I moaned. He chuckled, “Shhh. We don’t want anyone to walk in.” My eyes widened. I definitely did not want that.
I gripped his shoulders tightly as I felt the tightening in my stomach. His lips descended on mine as I came. He pulled back winking, “We’ll work on that.” I gasped, “Hey! I’m pretty sure I was fairly quiet. All things considered.”
Xander laughed, “The whole house would’ve heard that scream if I didn’t kiss you.” I tapped his nose reasoning, “But you did…. so…” I stuck my tongue out at him. He just crashed his lips back onto mine then snapped my pants back on.
Then someone said, “Oh gosh... sorry!” I pulled back blushing. Xander growled softly, “You are mine.” I agreed, “Yours.” He sighed, “The dungeons are open to you. If you find out where either one of those pieces of shit are, come to me.” I agreed, “That’s fair.” Xander snorted, “I’m glad you think so.” I kissed him lightly before saying, “Have a good meeting.” He walked me to the door then took off jogging for his office.
A Warrior I’d seen a few times now walked up calling, “Hello Muffin Luna, the Alpha wanted me to show you where the dungeons are.” I knew where they were.
I greeted, “I probably could have found them, I mean eventually… because why would I know where they are? That would be weird… so… that’s not a thing I know.” His jaw dropped while Freya cackled in my head. I said, “So… I’m Melanie.”
The Warrior smiled, “I know Muffin Luna. I’m Fowler.” Another high ranking Warrior in Xander’s pack. I waved, “Hi, Fowler.” He led me to the dungeons and stood outside. I walked down alone. One girl cried when she saw me, “Please, it was just a job!”
Uhh ok…I would’ve guessed this woman would’ve been in the Red Run dungeons. I still didn’t know why Ziggy punched her and knocked her out at the airport in Red Run a few years back. I deleted the footage but I couldn’t find the girl in front of me on any manifest to find out why Ziggy was pissed.
Everything I found said they didn’t know each other. I knew she’d clearly done something to Ziggy, but I couldn’t dedicate time to figuring it out. I couldn’t even find the girls name. Ok…I could’ve searched social sites…but I was kind of busy. I still protected Ziggy deleting the footage and I kept an ear out for any police reports being filed, but there never was one.
I replied, “Ok...cool. What was a job? I literally have no idea who you are.” I wanted to know too. She cringed, “I was pretending to be you.” I snorted, “Yeah… I have nothing to do with you. That’s my mate and family's territory.” If they decided not to kill her… then I would do that… but the odds were someone would kill her. That didn’t answer why she upset Ziggy though. I was going to have to find out.
Freya asked, “Who do you think it will be?” I tapped my watch and dropped the privacy screen I had in it that I’d invented. It reflected what I had just been doing to the people that could see me instead of knowing what I was actually doing.
I pulled up my tables on my watch and admitted, “A Kyle, since a Beta blood would be able to dial back their anger. My mom’s up there though. She’ll likely focus on Stephanie… my not aunt. So, while it’s not her last name anymore I’d lay odds on Elise killing her since she lives her and could access the fake me the easiest.” Freya laughed in my head. I tapped the buttons so the table disappeared.
I looked at the next cell then turned away. Stephanie snorted, “You aren’t going to say anything? That’s new.” I turned stating, “I hope they torture you for decades, you bitter old lying hag.” I walked away and found Edward and Jean. Both evaluated me.
Edward was missing an arm. Freya purred, “Mate did that.” Probably. Since I wanted confirmation I asked, “What happened to your arm?” Edward retorted, “Your mate.” I was right…and so was Freya. I did like being right. Freya snickered.
I laughed, “I would advise you to not upset him. I thought you were smart enough to know that.” Edward snarled, “How am I supposed to help what he sees when he pushes at me?” I told him, “By having mental defenses of some kind. He could still hear, but he might not have seen anything.”
I waved dismissively saying, “I wouldn’t expect you to know that, because you don’t bother to take your head out of your ass and learn about other Supernatural’s, like Fairies. Anyway, I didn’t come here to talk about that.”
Freya’s growl slipped out, “I came here to ask you where Booker and Trevor would go hide. I’m GOING to find them, but I’d rather do it sooner as opposed to later. I know despite the fact that he’s a sniveling, backstabbing weasel that you two look up to him.”
