He gripped my hips pretty hard, but all I could think was I wanted him to hold me tighter. He began to growl, “MINE!” With each thrust. I whimpered as another orgasm ripped through me. Xander groaned and reached his own release. We held onto each other, breathing hard.
I whispered, “Did I mess up your mission?” Xander kissed me lightly before answering, “No, Lovebug. I’m meeting someone for drinks tonight. I’ll probably take a nap when I get back. Something you should do too since you need more sleep than me.” Not normally I didn’t.
I got by on little to no sleep. He put his forehead on mine, still inside me. He whispered, “It was hard enough to leave you the first time. I don’t know if I can do it again.” I played with his hair and told him, “You can do anything. I know you can.” He chuckled.
Sierra knocked on the door, “Uhhh we really need to get moving. We are already packed so that’s good.” Xander sighed and pulled out of me. He snapped me into yoga pants and a tight t-shirt. He’d snapped himself into shorts and a cutoff shirt.
I admired his arms. He kissed my cheek, “Your friend won’t get her wish if you keep looking at me like that.” I blushed and he laughed while opening the door. We walked out. Sierra raised an eyebrow before saying, “He’s doing fairly good at not asking questions.”
Xander snorted, “You have no idea. Considering I find your lack of scent incredibly odd, if not impossible.” Oh shit. I flushed. Sierra smiled then teased him, “That’s why you know what you’re agreeing to before you agree to any terms, Alpha boy.” Xander raised an eyebrow, “I’ll do anything my Lovebug asks me to do.” He kissed my forehead.
His phone rang breaking up the moment. Xander sighed. I laughed, “It’s actually your uncle this time... right? I mean it definitely is.” He nodded, “I need to get moving. You two stay out of trouble. Ok?” I asked, “Trouble? Us? It was but a mere inconvenience.”
Xander snorted, “Ok then. Call me or Phil if you need anything.” I kissed him quickly and whispered, “I knew you’d come.” Xander practically vowed, “Always.” He squeezed my hand and popped away. I sighed and threw myself on the bed. I just wanted to be with him.
Sierra urged, “Let’s talk in the car.” I nodded. We both walked to our car in silence. Her phone rang again. She answered, “Hi, mom. We just got in the car. We will be back soon. Love you. Bye.” I sighed, “Nine hour drive here we come.” Sierra said, “Actually, we have a plane to catch.” I raised an eyebrow asking, “What?”
Sierra shrugged, “My dad and the Alpha insisted.” I snorted, “Great. I’m sure that bodes well.” She told me, “You have GOT to get better at lying.” I grumbled, “Sarcasm is different from lying.” We barely made it to the airport in time for our flight.
I linked Sierra, “One of Buck’s Warriors is in the back. One that Buck is fully aware could not take me or you. Nor is he fast. That Warrior does the bare minimum in training. Which means Buck knows we will slip him. UGH! He is so confusing.”
Sierra snorted and turned around. She glared at the Warrior in question. She asked, “Why did they have this ready to go? Missouri was spur of the moment because the guys were there. It wasn’t pre-planned.” I admitted, “I don’t know.” Nor did I care for it.
I thought about it for several minutes, then it clicked for me. I urgently speculated, “Oh my gosh. The Resistance is too busy to take our calls… Jason was in Missouri… what if the Ring is going after Everly… or Kai?” I started breathing harder. Not my nephew. He was so young.
The plane took off and I knew this would be three tortuous hours. Dalton and Dakota were getting their butts kicked by me. Somehow… someway. If my sister in law or nephew were hurt, after they’d already put Jason’s life on the line, I was so getting in touch with them….I’d get more than one punch in now.
They’d better be keeping a close eye on Everly and Kai. I checked my phone a dozen times and my watch even more times than that. Sierra got a text when she got on the Wi-Fi. I read it over her shoulder. The Ring was going for Kai, and they’d deleted the alert off my system.
The Resistance members, not on this plane, had been trying to find him because he wasn’t in Red Run. A string of curse words ran through my head aimed at the Kyle’s. They were being VERY cavalier with the lives of my remaining, living, family members.
Really, I should send Aunt Stephanie up to meet them. Maybe they COULD get her killed. That would be helpful since she was awful. Definitely needed to contact Dustin Bishop about that whole possible spell on the Alpha’s of Red Run thing.
I linked Sierra, “The Warrior is here to make sure we cooperate and go home.” Sierra winced before replying, “You’re not going home then, are you?” I answered, “No. I’m going to do exactly what Buck expects me to do and helped me in achieving said goal by assigning that Warrior. I’m going to find Kai.” Sierra asked, “How?”
I smiled and she snorted. She surmised, “You chipped him somehow.” They say I chip everyone when I had, in fact, never chipped anyone. I gave people things with GPS trackers. That was different than chipping them. No one had implants under their skin.
I’d sent Kai a gift a few years back. It was a necklace with a wolf on it, and it just so happened to be an undetectable GPS tracker. So, I could get his exact location if necessary. I’d left him a note and told him it was our secret. He’d left a letter where I’d told him to on the border with Red Run and Alpha Raven’s territory in reply. He’d agreed to keep it our secret and always wear the necklace.
I checked my phone and saw his location, which was getting further from Red Run. That was fine because I could get to him. When the plane landed, I grabbed a hoodie of Xander’s. I threw it on and put my hair in a ponytail.
I grabbed some sunglasses and pulled up the hood. As soon as the seatbelt sign went off, I was up and three seats in front of mine. Sierra linked, “Be careful.” I warned, “Don’t let them take you in. I had Hendrick leave a car here just in case. You all say I’m paranoid but crap like this makes it practical. It’s across the street on the first level right when you get out. The code to get in the door is 4-5-6-3-5.”
Sierra reiterated, “Stay safe, Mel. They will know it was you that saved him.” I acknowledged, “I know which is why I’m not going as the Resistance. I’m going as his aunt.” Sierra sniffled, “They will hurt you for doing that. Pretty badly.” I admitted, “I know that too.”
Because they sucked… and I knew that. I did. I just didn’t care. Kai was a little boy. He was not a pawn to be used and held against me. Edward could shove it because as Kai’s aunt I had every literal right to go after him. No pack worth anything would do more than celebrate saving a pup. Black Path just wasn’t worth anything.
Sierra questioned, “And when they ask how you knew about the kidnapping?” I answered, “They made it obvious… I mean come on. The plane tickets and the men here alerted me. I had to check on my family.”
Sierra sighed, “They probably won’t ask questions.” I snorted, “That would require them to know their jobs... so no. They probably will not ask…I just don’t know how your dad is physically comfortable not asking questions about things.”
I kept my head down and walked with a couple, acting like we were family. I linked Sierra, “There are twenty pack members throughout the airport. Take the walking escalators, stick with a family group, then then you hit baggage claim... run. You are faster than them by leaps and bounds. If the humans say something, tell them an ex is harassing you.”
I paused then added, “You could really hold them up if you pointed a pack member out to anyone. Airport Security will stop them, and you can get out to the car. Or if you REALLY want to freak them out… say one of them is armed.”
“Buck is here… he is definitely armed. OHHHH no! The Warrior who let Mason get hurt is here. He deserves to be tackled by a human and I see his gun. Idiot.” Sierra snickered, “I just might do that.” Well, that was an unexpected joy in the day because that totally meant Sierra was going to do it.
Buck spotted me and gave me a look. I linked him, “You knew full well I’d figure out something was up.” He replied, “Keep your damn head down and get out of here. Maybe consider if you want to do this.” I replied, “He’s a little boy.” Buck faltered, “What? I meant get by us and show up back at home.” I replied, “Someone kidnapped my nephew. I’m going after him.” Buck’s jaw dropped.
