Sierra linked, “He’s fine. Calm down.” I blocked her out of my mind with a vengeance. My entire goal since I turned fourteen was never watching anyone I loved get hurt again. The Resistance was around to protect Jason and Xander. Claire made me fail. He was hurt and she had to PAY.

I turned shouting, “YOU HURT HIM!” She stammered, “Well, I didn’t mean to! He shouldn’t have tried to get in! It’s got heavy doses of iron, wolfsbane and silver.” I knew that. Freya snarled in my head. I repeated, “You hurt him!”

Claire backed away from me, finally fearing me how I had wanted her to the entire time. Her two friends ran but I grabbed them and smacked them into each other. Claire stared at me in horror as they fell to the ground unconscious.

I told her, “Even if we weren't in a dome … you can’t run from me. I’d hunt you down to the ends of the earth for hurting Xander.” She scoffed, “His name is Alexander.” I snarled, “YOU SHOULD CALL HIM ALPHA!” I ran at her enjoying her scream.

I could hear someone screaming the name Ashley. I just didn’t care. It wasn’t actually my name. In fact, I’d grown to hate it. Claire made me fail in my entire life’s purpose. I protected Xander and she BURNED him. This chick needed to be taught a lesson.

I yelled, “Stop running and face me, you cowardice pup! You spouted off about being a Warriors daughter. So, prove it.” She turned to stare me down. Freya scoffed. Claire stated, “You’re crazy. I’m not a pup, I’m past the age of sixteen.”

I snorted, “I mean… I’m probably crazy. At this point it’s a miracle I don’t live in a padded room… but I don’t. Besides, you attacked a Conners family member. So, who really is the crazy one here? I think it’s inarguably... you. I know how old you are… you just act like a pup!”

Claire cried, “I love him. I didn’t mean to! He’ll forgive me. He’s mine.” LOVE?! HERS?! I snarled, “HE’S NOT YOURS! HE’S MINE, YOU HORRENDOUS WENCH!” I punched her in the face then kicked her in the throat.

I saw red as I beat the crap out of her. Someone was yelling the name Ashley again. Somewhere inside me I could acknowledge it was Sierra. Claire whispered, “He’ll never stay with you. You’re wolf less and he’s a Conners. Like you said.”

I told her, “Whether he does or not, he won’t be with you.” I picked her up in the air, put my knee out, and slammed her mid back on it. Everyone heard her spine fracture. I tossed her down as she screamed in pain.

I sneered, “I really hope you die. Slowly. Preferably painfully. Just know, if you EVER hurt Xander again… it won’t matter where I am, or what I am to him… I’ll come for you. Do you understand me?” She shakily nodded at me.

I picked up the dome she’d thrown down to create the bubble. Paige had taught me about things like this before the Ring started using it, so I knew how to disable it since I had the object. When we didn’t have the object or know where it was, she had to do serious spells to get domes down. I rubbed it, and the dome disappeared.

I found that I was still angry and…I really…REALLY… wanted to kill her. Freya linked me, “We should.” Xander popped behind me. He whispered, “Lovebug, I’m ok. I healed myself.” That did not make me less angry. He didn’t understand.

Sierra linked, “She didn’t make you fail your purpose, Mel.” I disagreed, “She hurt him. Everything I do is so he doesn’t get hurt.” She sighed. Xander whispered, “Just give me a second, and we’ll go. Samantha can take you to my office. Phil told her where it is.” I knew where it was. I had the schematics of the entire gosh darn pack.

Freya offered, “He doesn’t know that.” True. Sierra also knew without being told where it was. I breathed deeply still feeling enraged, but his scent did make it better. He crushed me into a hug where his scent overpowered my senses.

He whispered, “I’m ok and so are you. Everything is ok.” I nodded. Sierra touched my arm, “Come on. Let’s go to his office.” I gripped him harder. He kissed my forehead saying, “I’m not hers and you know that.” I did.

I nodded and follower Sierra to his office. On the way, several of the pack members looked at me with respect and pride. It was weird. Only my friends and Warriors ever looked at me that way anymore. Several evaluated me with a nod. Sierra closed the door. She whisper yelled, “Ummm holy hell!”

I growled, “SHE HURT HIM! MY WHOLE PURPOSE IS HELPING HIM. IT’S ALL TO PROTECT HIM! She kept saying he was hers! HE IS NOT HERS! SHE’S A VAPID NAME CHASING WENCH!” Sierra nodded, “I know that.”

I paced then scoffed, “His chosen Luna. What a joke! She’s a joke. She’s a piss poor strategist, AND a poor fighter. SHE HURT HIM!” Sierra nodded, “I know that but he’s ok. He was fine literally seconds after it occurred. He is a talented healer. Please calm down.”

I snarled, “I should’ve ripped her stupid head off while she was spouting off saying that he’s hers. UGH! He’s MINE! He’s ALWAYS been mine!” Freya snarled, “Oden and Xander are OURS!” Sierra said, “Ummm that was your wolf. Talking out loud.”

I gasped, “She did?! Like you heard her? She hasn’t done that yet…normally she’s just saying it to me.” Sierra replied, “No, I heard Freya loud and clear through you.” Wow. I didn’t even feel her take over. Freya growled, “Because I didn’t.” Umm ok. Weird.

I don’t know how long I paced before arms were around me again. I leaned into the tingles. Xander popped me on the top of the mountain. He looked over my shoulder then kissed me hard. I kissed him back as everything in me calmed.

He pulled back promising, “I’m yours, Lovebug. Only yours. I don’t want anyone but you, and I never have. She’s talking shit, and it will stop. I was never at any point considering a chosen Luna. I would never be with Claire in any capacity.”

I admitted, “Ok…I umm…well…lost my temper…in front of so many people and…”Xander cut me off, “Everyone in there would have in your shoes. Everyone in there respects the hell out of you.” I winced, “She’s not even in this pack….and I actually do like Alpha Theo. I should probably call him and explain… not that he likes her.”

Xander snorted, “He’ll be deeply entertained by this. I am aware he doesn’t like Claire, and I’m intrigued you know that though.” I laughed, “Come on, not even Lux likes her, and he likes EVERY female he’s ever seen.”

Xander growled and backed me up into a tree. He kissed me passionately. He pulled back growling, “You are mine! Not Lux’s.” I replied, “I’m aware…like…I feel like that’s…clear.” Freya snickered. Alexander stared into my eyes saying, “Let’s look around the territory then we are popping back to our room in Switzerland. Once we are there, I’m not letting you out of bed until you reek of me.”

I smiled saying, “I do kind of want to jump you…and prove you’re mine…it’s a feeling that seems to be upgrading…to a necessity and not a need…so…it’s good you feel that way…plus our combined scent is pretty darn good…we are like the best dessert combination scent.” He agreed, “Damn straight we are.”

He took me over to the edge of the mountain. Freya whimpered, “I need him.” I looked around trying to soak it in. I’d wanted to see this place for so long. Xander wrapped his arms around me. His fingers began tracing around my nipples through my shirt and bra.

That was clearly cheating since I had mentioned the whole…necessity of proving he was mine thing. I had said that…I was certain. I pleaded, “Take me back and own every piece of me as you always have.” Alexander agreed, “With pleasure.” He popped us back to Switzerland and his mouth attacked mine with fervent need.
