I listened hard for any sign of the problem Addison referred to. I found it and cringed. Emmett snarled, “What?” EJ sighed, “They have a pup from your pack, and he’s putting up a fight. I guess he was hiding, but they found him.”
Melanie did some gymnastics move and wrapped her legs around the guy and killed him. Dylan threw popcorn screaming, “KILLER THIGHS! SHE HAS KILLER DANCE MOVES AND THIGHS! AHHHHHHH!!! Someone squeal with me! SHE KILLED SOMEONE WITH HER THIGHS!!!!!!”
“That just went to a whole new level of meaning. GOD DAMN Saint God Alpha Prick, you’re going to make me elevate you in status. I’ll get right on it. It's going to be a good new name for you.” My dad rolled his eyes.
EJ winced, “Melanie might not get there in time.” Jason snorted, “She’s theFlash. So, she will get there just fine.” Melanie took off. Emmett gasped, “What the hell? She’s faster than the last time I saw her run.”
I warned everyone, “That doesn’t leave here.” Dylan squealed, “Plans and secrets. They are such a fun combination. You’re officially number one on my favorite Conners sibling’s chart, Mini Moody. Shape up other Conners’ be more fun and compete with your moody brother.”
Dylan turned to me, “Tell me little Moody Triplet, what other secrets are you keeping? My wolf senses tell me there’s more. Please note my goddess, I amended the saying just for you.” My mom snorted, “Yours made sense. You have wolf sense so thank fucking god you said that.”
EJ announced, “Well, we were worried for nothing because Melanie’s already over there.” He was the one who was worried, I was not. Emmett tilted his head saying, “You’re joking. Even with this barrier, how the hell did Melanie do that? She even took the long way there staying in the tree line for cover.”
Cassie said, “To be fair, they have the pup in the tree line.” Emmett snorted, “How is that fair? The fastest way was a straight line through the middle of the pack.” We all stopped when we heard a gunshot. Tristan grumbled, “Why on GOD’s green earth did she not just use that over here?”
My dad answered, “I’d imagine whatever Alpha is here saw her leaving the circle. Melanie didn’t want him to know where she was.” Dylan clicked his tongue and made finger guns at my dad, “Right you are. MelAshley is the only one in human form after all.”
I snarled until Melanie appeared with a pup and ran into the pack house. Emmett sighed, “I think she’s almost as fast as I am, and I’m the fastest wolf around. Followed by my siblings and that’s because we are part Hood.”
Tristan spoke harshly, “We get it, my sister is fast. She’s ALWAYS been fast. Just because you didn’t believe me when I told you that is not really our problem right now. I’ve told you countless times my little sister is fast.”
Emmett dryly replied, “You didn’t tell me your little sister can get through Covens wards like they are nothing. Or that spells don’t affect her. You said Melanie is a genius, but you didn’t say she could come up with ways to counter all that. What else does that watch do? And how do I buy one?” Oden snorted in my head.
EJ laughed, “Seconded. I want a watch.” Elise chimed in, “I bet she has ones for us all.” Emmett smirked, “Yes, all ofyou. I’m saying I want one too.” Dylan snorted, “As the potential adoptive father of MelAshley, I get one first. Fair is fair.” Drake growled at him.
Cayden linked me, “Emmett is failing to notice all her friends have that watch. They couldn’t get in through the Coven’s barrier.” I replied, “I know that, but he does too. Emmett is a trained observer and he’s fishing. Or he’s wondering if Melanie’s watch contains things she’s working on and hasn’t rolled out to the others. Which none of us would know about.”
Cayden replied, “Melanie wouldn’t do that. She’d test it and roll it out. I’m getting the sense you don’t want me to say that.” I answered, “I do not. He can have his suspicions but we don’t know why or how she’s doing it yet. He can assume it’s something in the watch for all I care.” Cayden nodded while Cassie looked between us.
Melanie reached the group again as the rogue's numbers were dwindling. They were going to win, which meant the pack that was here would attack. Emmett growled then stopped when my mate said the Alpha that was here to take Emmett’s packs name.
I tilted my head asking, “As in Alpha Alan Mueller from Nashville?” Phil offered, “That would be a logical conclusion given Melanie lived there.” I shouted, “GOD DAMMIT! How many packs in Nashville have to go?” EJ sighed, “At least one more.”
My entire body tensed while Emmett snorted when Melanie taunted Alan with Emmett’s skills. Chase said, “I mean that’s all true. Alan can’t beat you, son.” Emmett raised an eyebrow, “I am aware. I’m curious how she knows I could do it with my hands tied behind my back. Because she’s right. Uncle Heath trains us that way, but how does Melanie know that?”
I was really beginning to be annoyed with his excellent points and good questions. The barrier shrunk again. I could see the Thunder’s pack now and nodded to them. After that, I was laser focused on Melanie. Tristan spoke, “I’m sorry. What? They’ve fought before? Melanie and that Alpha? Is that what she’s saying?”
EJ sighed, “Anyone else getting the feeling that’s the Alpha she beat at age fourteen? Because I am.” Toby said, “I don’t like it when you all come to logical conclusions I would’ve phrased in better way to make you less upset.”
EJ asked, “Cayden? Micah? Is that who she fought?” Oden snarled, “MORE THAN ONCE!” Micah sighed, “I didn’t know her then. I know she got in a fight with a pretty big dude from that Alpha’s pack. He didn’t make it though.” We all turned to him.
Micah sighed, “I had people watching him because I wanted to talk when he woke up, but he never did. He had Alpha blood but wasn’t Alpha Alan’s pup on record. I’m thinking he might have been though.”
I roared in fury when Alan said he’d mark her. EJ winced, “It’s not happening, Alexander.” I whirled, “IF ONE MORE GODDAMN PERSON SAYS THEY WILL TAKE WHAT’S MINE I WILL DESTROY THEIR GODDAMN PACKS! I WILL BURN THEIR TERRITORIES TO THE FUCKING GROUND.” Gage offered, “I’m in.” Phil said, “I’ve got matches and lighter fluid.”
Dylan laughed, “Wow. That’s a reaction. Some might say an overreaction, but not me because I grew up with SGAP over there. That sounds like something he’d say.” Dad said, “I’d do it too if someone talked about Haley that way.” Dylan whispered, “We all know that.”
Alan was stunned Melanie was actually mine. It hit me, Alan had known. He’d known Melanie thought I was her mate. EJ grabbed my arm. Phil said, “Uh huh. Phil is officially OUT!” Dylan shouted, “Smart man, Phil! Stay over here with me with your matches and lighter fluid.”
I snarled, “ALAN KNEW SHE COULD BE MINE! HE STILL TRIED TO TAKE HER FROM ME!!” Elise said, “I feel the need to point out he didn’t.” Tristan said, “He was going to.” Several people turned to him. Tristan shrugged, “What? Nothing Alexander said was wrong.” I snarled in anger.
Cayden instructed, “Cass, go back home.” Cassie snorted, “What?” I offered, “He’s right. Go, Cass.” EJ chimed in, “I agree.” My dad asked, “What? Why?” Cassie glared at us, but we just gave her a look. My sister huffed, “Oh screw it. They want me to leave because I’m pregnant, dad.” Cayden’s jaw dropped. My mom clapped excitedly.
My dad grinned, “Really?” Cassie nodded saying, “Yes, with twins.” My dad hugged her asking, “How are you feeling, Princess?” Cassie sighed in relief, “Good. You aren’t mad?” My dad laughed, “Of course not, the boys are right though. You should go home.”
My mom snorted, “What the fuck ever. Cass, you don’t have to go home, but you will stay back here with your Guard. Alright? Does that make all you overprotective Alpha fucking males happy? Hell, Javi, stay with her too.” Javi faded in and smiled, “Of course Princess.”
Cayden shrugged, “I can live with that.” He turned the Guards warning, “If anyone touches her, you will NOT like what follows.” I snorted, “No, they won’t. I’m at my goddamn limit today.” EJ put his hand on my shoulder.
