Addie nodded, “I got it. I’ll make it no problem, I’m fast.” I sighed in relief, “Good. These Hunters are terrible shots. Don’t run in a pattern. They probably won’t even notice you running away anyway.” She nodded again.

I closed my eyes and linked Xander, “Paige is going to get you guys in. I just need to buy her time.” Xander ordered, “You stay down and stay safe. I can smell rogues and Hunters.” I corrected, “You smell Nashville Hunters, and they are here for me.” Freya said, “Wow. That was not a helpful comment at all.” I argued, “It was information and information is helpful.” She snorted.

Xander growled, “So I heard.” I assured him, “I’ll be fine. It’s a whole thing… my thing, actually. Plus, they suck at Hunting. They are so lazy, and they can’t fight… like at all… it’s a little sad…. but they are so complacent these days… that’s a whole thing… we can talk about later.” He agreed, “Yes, later. Because you need to focus.” I could do that.

The whole Hunters were actually supposed to protect Supernatural’s deal was going to be such a long, drawn out conversation where proof would be required. Freya snorted, “Yeah, that’s not today’s topic for discussion. Mate will be furious with them.” Great. Another problem.

I took a deep breath, jumped to my feet, and took off running for the armory. I heard the shots fired at me, but I wasn’t running in a pattern. None of them even came close. I knew for a fact these boys would have trouble hitting the broad side of a barn.

I made it inside. Instantly I called over the comms, “Addison, did Addie make it to you?” Addison answered, “She did. She’s totally unharmed and as a side note your brother that I’m mated to is pissed.” I smirked saying, “Welllllll… that sounds like another mate problem for you to do deal with Ads.”

Dax came in the back door. I grabbed a bullet proof vest and tossed him one. I put mine on and smiled at the weapons in front of me. I commented, “Let’s kill some bad Hunters, Dax. This is a vest from my line so…that’s good.” Dax nodded. I grabbed several guns and strapped myself down.

Dax grabbed gear for himself and everyone else. He agreed, “Let’s do this. It’s been very quiet and boring without you in Black Path.” I smiled admitting, “Not always being in a fight can be nice… I used to live that way. I danced a lot… it was different.” Dax laughed and we took off running. Bring it on Nashville Hunters. I’ll show you what I’m capable of…again.

Fatherly Advice

Alexander lost himself in kissing Melanie. Then she started speaking Latin. It floored me that she’d learned two languages for me. I loved this woman so damn much. I’d heard many women speak Latin, but listening to Melanie speak it was such a turn on.

Oden took over and I felt his elation when Freya came out. It was more typical for them to meet as wolves first, but I was glad they could have this. Eventually, Melanie and I took back over. I needed to be back inside her.

I wanted to mark her. I wanted her to be my wife. I wanted to have her Luna ceremony. I wanted it all. I kissed her neck knowing I could heal the hickey’s if she wanted, but I couldn’t deny that I liked my marks there if she didn't have my mark yet.

Oden huffed in my mind. I linked him, “You spent time with your mate too. We will mark them, I promise.” Oden purred, “You’re right. I can’t wait to run with her.” I couldn’t either. She’d likely be a brown wolf, but she was such a strong fighter I wondered if she would have some black in her fur.

Eventually, we fell apart and immediately someone knocked. The bond told me it was Uncle Marcus and Uncle Bjourn came in. Uncle Bjourn linked me, “I thought you were trying to wreck your whole wing.” I snorted, “You knew I wasn’t.”

The look on their faces caused Melanie to blush. Even if they hadn’t heard us, they’d have smelt sex all over this room. Oden purred, “We love mate’s blush. She’s still so innocent.” She was. My Uncle’s wanted us to go talk to the wolves here.

That was part of why I’d popped us here. Melanie was excited to go and talk to them. She seemed disappointed when Uncle Marcus told her all but Nashville Hunting groups were here. Uncle Bjourn linked, “I wonder who she wanted to talk to in the Nashville group.” I replied, “I know what you do.”

Then she specifically mentioned Vicky. My mate was so excited that pup was here. I popped our group to the displaced wolves. Vicky immediately ran to my mate, but I was busy giving death glares to half the room. They were looking at my mate lustfully.

I raised an eyebrow knowing they could smell me all over. Most had the decency to look away. Cassie linked me, “She doesn’t even notice them, big brother.” I responded, “I do, and they need to back off.” Then someone propositioned her.

Oden snarled, “KILL HIM!” Melanie tried to calm me down. Oden grumbled, “Oh he might be a flirt, but he wants what is OURS.” I agreed with my wolf. Cayden linked me, “I’m here for you kicking his ass. I’ve already hit him. He leers.”

I snarled back, “He hit on Cassie?” Cayden answered, “He stared at her for too long.” Now, I really hated the guy. I only paused from popping to his pompous ass and wringing his neck because Vicky asked about her extended family.

Cassie looked confused. I linked her, “Has Vicky said who they are?” Cassie replied “No, she hasn’t. Not a single word.” Melanie’s comment had me looking at my sister. I surmised, “Based on my mates comments Vicky’s family is in our pack.” Cassie said, “That’s good or I’d take her myself.”

I studied Vicky, but I honestly had no clue who she was related to. My blood was pounding in my ears because Vance would not shut up. I could feel EJ’s concern along with my dad’s. Oden snarled, “At least punch him.” I assured my wolf, “I’m going to prove to that asshole that she’s mine.” Cassie took Vicky away and I slammed my lips on Melanie’s.

Someone cleared their throat. If it was Vance, he was dead. Max linked me, “It wasn’t our favorite man of the hour. Though he does look like you kicked his puppy.” Not that I would do that ever as an Earth Fairy and not a shitty person, it was better Vance got the hint now.

An older kind looking man smirked at me. I almost relaxed then Vance pointed out Melanie wasn’t marked. Oh, HELL no! This fucker wasn’t marking my mate. Max linked me, “He won’t touch her.” Caydenlinked me, “I do not think he’s being serious, but if you kill him, I won’t be mad.” Melanie ran in front of me and used her body as a shield. Her ass pressed against me was not helping. I wanted to kill Vance and fuck her. Maybe on his corpse, like any challenged Hackura would.

Maybe I wouldn’t kill Vance. I’d just make sure he heard her scream that she was mine. My phone was ringing. I didn’t even need to look to know it was EJ. I didn’t answer his call, so he called Uncle Marcus.

Uncle Marcus stepped out and quickly explained what was happening. I felt my brother's shock, annoyance, and anger. I knew one thing beyond all doubt. Vance would NOT be coming to our pack. Ever. Oden scoffed, “Should he live past this meeting.” No joke.

I couldn’t even focus on what Melanie was saying. Cayden linked, “She’s defending you and explaining why she’s not marked.” I snarled, “She doesn’t owe that piece of shit ANYTHING! Let alone an explanation. It’s NONE of his GODDAMN BUSINESS! I WOULD MARK IF HER IF I COULD!”

Cayden admitted, “I think she’s telling them to defend you.” I growled, “She’d have been marked the moment I met her if it was up to me. Now it’s just all fucked up. I can’t be the reason she doesn’t get to shift.”

Cayden replied, “I understand, and I’d feel the same way if I were you. You respected her wishes, then the whole suppressed wolf shit happened. You’re a good mate, and no one is going to take her from you. She’s loved you since I met her. I just didn’t know it was you that Melanie loved. She’s not going to lie down and let anyone take her from you.”

I argued, “My mom didn’t when she was taken from my dad, but it still happened.” Cayden winced before agreeing, “Yes, but that was different. Neither T nor Jason will betray her. I don’t even know if she’d turn her back on either at this point. She’s trying with them, but I don’t think the trust is there just yet.”
