She asked, “Where?” He answered, “He was talking to a Selkie source. They have nothing to do with it, but they have been helped by the Resistance.” Mom pointed out, “This is someone who doesn’t like disrespect. Particularly to Alexander, but anyone who is important to him as well.”

Uncle Bjourn said, “Yes, the people who threaten Alexander die as well. One might say harshly.” Mom rolled her eyesreplying, “Then they are very busy, and our sniper never sleeps. Which isn’t possible. Even Vampires sleep. All Supernatural’s need time to rest.”

I said, “There are periods of time where our sniper isn’t around. What if they run themselves into the ground then sleep for a week.” My mom sighed and I reached for our bond. I asked, “Why are your walls up?” My dad put a hand on her shoulder.

He answered, “Because she doesn’t think you will like the theory she came up with.” It was likely not a theory then since Mom studied people. I gently said, “Mom, it’s ok. You can tell me. I probably won’t like it, but I believe in you and your theories.”

She rubbed her face, “I had Keaton confirm through an assessment, but it is more likely the times our sniper isn’t around, it’s due to injury. When she saved Everly and Julianna they smelled a salve.” I asked, “Do we have anything on their missions where injuries occur?”

Uncle Bjourn commented, “You know the answer.” I snarled, “Then who the fuck would hurt her?” Dad replied, “A lot of people would if they got ahold of her.” I snorted, “But they don’t know who she is. So, that doesn’t really work as an explanation.” Mom sighed, “It is possible that this group is operating from inside the Ring to some degree. The Ring could be who is hurting her.”

Oden roared in anger, and I knew my eyes blazed. I said, “I’ll be back. I’m taking a walk.” I stormed out of the office as my mom sent me love. I sent the need to do something for this woman back to her. She agreed with that sentiment and my dad just sent me understanding.

I popped to the hill overlooking the castle. I conjured my phone and dialed the sniper’s number. I got the beep for the message again. I said, “I am STILL worried about you. I need you to know if the Ring is hurting you, we will handle it.”

I sighed, “I’d also like to know what type of poison your people are using to cause heart attacks. You somehow directed that at people who are after my brother. I don’t know why you don’t think I’ll like you. I do like you. You’re saving the people I love. Uncle Bjourn was aware of those threats to Maverick but you’re taking them out before plans get too far.”

I reasoned, “You know all about my Supernatural sides. You have to know that means something to every single part of me. I want to help you. Hell, we want to meet you. Please just let me protect you at least.” The beep cutting me off signaled again.

I threw my phone, and it shattered on a tree. I snapped my fingers, and it was repaired. Hastein commented, “That has to be handy for your Beta.” I snorted, “And you care because my Beta is our cousin.” He hummed, “How often do you call that number?” I grumbled, “I’m sure you know.”

He reasoned, “They might not check it.” I asked, “Do you want to know how I know they do?” He answered, “Yes.” I said, “The voicemail would be full if they didn’t. They check it, listen to my messages, and then they don’t reply.”

He nudged me saying, “They just might answer some of the things you asked about.” I snorted, “Probably not.” He didn’t agree. We sat there overlooking the Kingdom in silence for about an hour.

Kade portaled to us. He announced, “We are needed in Uncle Bjourn’s office.” I admitted, “I was going to shift and run.” Hastein offered, “I’ll go. If you’re needed, we can pull you.” I nodded to him and shifted into Oden. He could have control while I had time to think.

He took over and ran for thirty minutes before my dad and Hastein pulled me. I shifted back, snapped myself clothes, and popped to Uncle Bjourn’s office. I asked, “Where did mom go?” Dad answered, “She’s with your Uncle Benjamin questioning people with Blade and Javi faded back.”

I asked, “Questioning people about what?” The showed me a black and white box. Oden purred, “It’s the color of me.” Well, that was true but so were Oreos. He snorted at me, The Oreo BOX is not black and white just the Oreo themselves.” True.

I lifted the lid and tilted my head. Hastein chimed in, “I told you they might answer some of your questions.” I lifted up a mini jar with small needle like devices attached to some type of adhesive. The one I had was labeled Goblins. I glanced over at Hastein and he nodded.

Uncle Bjourn said, “The Frost Giant’s body basically turned to Lava on the inside. Marcus is currently studying it.” My eyes widened. Oden said, “That’s smart.” I said, “They used their cold temperature against them by burning them alive from the inside out.” It wasn’t a question, it was what they did.

Grandpa Titus joined us and looked at them. I asked, “Where did the box come from?” Dad answered, “It was placed over our border with a card on it for your mother.” I snorted, “She’s going to use that and say they are hers.”

Uncle Bjourn agreed, “She will and I think the Resistance knows that.” I glanced at all the doses in the box. Uncle Marcus portaled in with Aunt Katie and Uncle Logan. She announced, “There’s a spell, a very powerful one, on those. The humans obviously would not see someone insides turned to Lava. They see a heart attack.”

Uncle Evin came in reporting, “There was one body that hadn’t been there long enough to be claimed yet. Gunner’s fabrication I was family let me pull the Warlock’s body here.” Dad groaned, “Of course it’s a Warlock.” Mom would go off about that.

Uncle Evin replied, “The other bodies were claimed by research facilities after so long.” I asked, “Will the spell hold?” Uncle Evin chuckled, “I’m not done. It’s a Supernatural facility but they never got the bodies. Nor did they know they existed.”

Pride filled me for some strange reason. The Resistance really had a way of getting around red tape. He added, “I did get everyone’s personal affects.” He tossed them down and we searched through them. Their phones were missing, which told me the Resistance took them.

I admitted, “I think it’s weird the Resistance left the pictures of Maverick.” Aunt Katie said, “Because there is a spell on that picture. It alters someone’s face so humans wouldn’t see Maverick.” I pulled Brenton to me. He came through in a second.

I handed him the pictures, “Go ask Caius’s mom what she sees in those pictures.” He nodded and left.

When he returned, he said, “She sees four different people. One young guy, one older, and two middle-aged men.”

I asked, “Seriously, how powerful are these guys? We already knew the Witch working with them was. Can we tell if it’s a coven or one person?” Aunt Katie said, “Me, Dustin, Ryan, and Charlie Rose all believe it’s the same person. The magic feels the same.”

I asked, “Who is this strong?” She shrugged, “I don’t know but we all want to meet them.” I snorted, “We want to meet a lot of people we can’t meet. This is such a strange feeling. Normally, I’m annoyed about people wanting to meet me. Now, I’m irritated people don’t want to me meet me.”

Oden whined in my head because it was us. Maybe without us as a factor, they would meet someone. Dad replied, “No, Alexander. Without you, they wouldn’t even talk to us. Hastein told us about your call. We have this box because of you.” Oden told me, “That’s true.”

Phil portaled in. He looked around saying, “This looks fun. I clearly need to get caught up, which the bond told me. How Beta’s survive without a bond with their Alpha like I have with my cousin, I just don’t know. It makes NO sense to me.”
