My dad linked, “There’s a pack in Nevada that needs help, Shine Low Pack.” I nodded and popped out. The Alpha jolted. He snorted, “Damn if you’re not your dad’s mini me.” I admitted, “We all are. Why haven’t we met?”

He answered, “We don’t make it to Summit’s because it’s always on the same dates that are important to our pack that we celebrate.” I hummed, “Well, I’ll just see if we can’t change that.” He laughed, “Wow. You are like your dad.”

I asked, “How do you know him?” He answered, “He took over this pack and had me put in charge. He was my Alpha once upon a time. He gave me the opportunity to come out here and now everything I have is because of him.” He put out his arm and his Luna came over to him.

She was pregnant. I congratulated them, “Congratulations on your little one.” She laughed, “This one is a surprise. Our oldest pup is seventeen and wants to run around with you tonight.” A male voice chimed in, “I want to go too!” The Alpha chuckled, “That’s my son, he’s sixteen.” Their daughter walked over and nodded to me.

She said, “I’m going to be the Alpha around here and I’d like to see how you handle the rogues since your dad said that’s why you were coming.” I replied, “I can stick to wolf moves if you’d prefer.” Oden snorted, “We were doing that anyway.” I had planned to kill a few in human form.

She shrugged, “Do what you want. I can learn and adapt. We have partial Fairies in our pack too. In fact, my pups will be partials themselves.” I laughed, “Your mate is a Fairy?”

A man popped in beside her and to my surprise I didn’t know him. Given my mom trained partials, I’d met most of them and he was one. He answered, “Yes, our kids will attend the trainings your mom holds.”

I asked, “Did you? I don’t recall seeing you.” He winked, “But I remember you. You were a very cute baby, but your sister wasadorable. I hope my kids have that cherub look she did.” Ok. I said, “Then I hope they do too.” The Alpha sighed, “Yeah, them meeting is your dad’s fault too.” I threw my head back and laughed.

The Fairy asked, “Are you off on your adventures, love?” She kissed his cheek, “You bet your Fairy ass.” He said, “Be very careful and learn from the best.” He turned to me, “You may be my Duke, but I warn you now not to let any harm come to her.” I replied, “I won’t.” She sighed, “He’s protective.” I shrugged, “He’s a mate.”

We shifted and took off. Oden snorted, “Does the younger one think we don’t know he’s following us?” I popped behind him and his sister doubled back. They were probably linking but he ended up staying. I let Oden follow the scent to an actual pack of rogues.

I linked my dad, “Did you know the rogues are making packs? Because this is one.” He growled and he and my mom popped beside me. I linked, “We could handle this.” The pack showed up with the Fairy mate. Oden linked, “They should’ve heard all that. They are too far gone as rogues.” There might be some that weren’t though.

We surrounded them with the pack, some Fairies, Hackura, and our Warriors. I linked the Warriors from our pack, “NOW!” We jumped into the fray. I heard my mom yelling at some, “Stand the FUCK down! They are fucking children!” I went to the Alpha of the group with my dad.

He snorted, “The Conners have dared to show up. You’re too late. I’m too powerful!” Angela linked me and my dad, “YOU NEED TO MOVE! PATHS JUST CHANGED!” A group of them threw a pot of wolfsbane at my dad. I shouted, “NO!”

I jumped in front of him and screamed in pain as I shifted back. My dad roared in anger and jumped on the Alpha. I whispered, “Oden.” He whimpered in pain. My mom screamedso loud I not only heard it but felt it in my soul. The sky crackled with her anger.

She popped to me, but a rogue was coming at her. I pulled up my Hackura side, conjured a weapon and popped behind her and killed the rogue. I screamed out a war cry and let my rage loose. How dare they try to hurt MY parents.

I was cutting through the rogues knowing my mom was on my six. I noted my brothers had shown up along with several of my cousins and all of my uncles. I pushed at several rouges and saw them taking orphaned pups.

“Come with us and have a family. You have those genes you don’t understand. We can help you.” I yelled out another war cry and pushed harder letting their heads explode. I took a deep breath when my dad came into my line of vision.

He ordered, “Alexander, let your mom heal you.” I grabbed him, “You’re ok.” He gave me a look replying, “I am fine.” He linked me, “If you EVER jump in front of wolfsbane for me again I’ll kick your ass. I can take it.” But I couldn’t. My senses would go haywire if my dad got hurt.

My mom’s healing light enveloped me. When I came to, she was cradling my head in her lap. She kissed my forehead. She linked, “You were very brave and selfless to save your dad that pain. Just know that we are the type of fucking parents who would save you kids that pain every damn time.”

She added, “I’m so proud of everything you did tonight. I know there are other emotions driving you, and I’m here if you want to talk about them. I’m also adding a part of your training for your Fairy abilities. You could’ve called the wind, or me, instead of jumping in front of the wolfsbane.”

I argued, “I had a second…” She interrupted, “And you acted exactly how I fucking would’ve. I’ve done that exact move, and your Uncle Bjourn had my ass in training. So, you’ll do the same. Ok?” I nodded, “Alright.” I was proud to be like her.

My dad helped me stand and yanked me into a hug. He clapped me on the back, and I did the same. EJ was standing there to my shock. I asked, “Brother?” He glared at me snarking, “Yes, brother. WHAT THE FUCK?!”

Cassie snorted and I hugged her and nodded to Cayden who was standing behind her. I told her, “You go home, and I’ll be there tomorrow.” EJ sighed, “I see we are ignoring our big brother. Something clearly happened tonight that SO MANY people have to explain to me.”

I urged, “Go back to honeymoon. I didn’t mean to interrupt you.” He yanked me into a hug. He linked, “If you think this is the end of this conversation then you have not been paying attention. What happened?”

I replied, “You were missing two guests at your ceremony and reception.” He growled, “You’re fucking kidding me!” I snorted, “They actually have a reason this time, but Elise might want to give her parents a call.” He pulled back and hugged everyone before he popped back out.

Max asked, “Why did dad have to go all Alpha rage on the asshole who threw wolfsbane at him and my brother? I wanted to hurt him.” He kicked an arm, and I noted that my dad had literally ripped the man to pieces.

I asked, “How did he know our wolves?” My mom snorted, “You’re fucking bigger than every other damn wolf. Plus, Oden is distinctive.” Oden was black and white so that was true. Uncle Bjourn answered his phone, “Gunner.” He hummed, “I see.”

I asked, “What’s going on?” He said, “There were funds this Rogue Alpha had to support them, but they were donated to charities that you support within minutes of the news going out about what happened here.” I clarified, “My charities?” He nodded.

My mom questioned, “Who the fuck did that?” Uncle Bjourn answered, “We don’t know.” My mom scoffed, “What?” Henodded. She waved saying, “Harper’s boytoy lover will get the answer.” My Uncle admitted, “The answer comes back to him, but he didn’t do it.” I rubbed my temples asking, “Huh?”

He explained, “The signature on the bank codes is your Uncle Gunner’s. I’m sure someone in the technology division took it upon themselves to do it for him. He’s pushing to get the station now, but it’s handled.”
