Cayden sighed, “We can run over some stuff. All the footage we have with Ashley is gone, so I can’t show you her picture. I sent Hendrix to try to find pictures at her place, but Micah said he’s never seen any. We think she has a second place where all her personal stuff is. I don’t think she trusts people in Black Path.” I wouldn’t.

Levi asked, “How bad? How bad is what’s happened to her? If it is Melanie?” Cayden frowned, “It’s bad either way, but I don’t officially know.” Levi said, “Fuck officially. What did they do to my best friend's little sister?” Cayden was silent for a while.

Eventually he said, “She’s always in shirts that cover her back. But we saw footage, that we now don’t have, of a fight. A wolf ripped her shirt across up by her neck, and we saw scars that indicate she’s beenwhipped. If they are that high up, they are defiantly lower on her back too.” Levi and my eyes blazed gold.

Rain snarled, “I will kill every last one of those bastards for hurting Oden’s mate.” I would too and we were in full Hackura momma mode which meant no one stood a chance against us. Cayden continued, “Last year, you know we hid her because of injuries she’d sustained. Her friends claimed it was a car accident, but they were lying. Or evading. It wasn’t just a car accident if there was one.”

“She gets punished a lot. That’s unconfirmed but we suspect it. She wouldn’t ask us for help. I should’ve just…” I touched his face interrupting, “You couldn’t have done anything else.” Cayden's jaw tightened.

He disagreed, “You’re wrong. I wouldn’t have given a shit if she didn’t ask if I knew she was Alexander’s. Even if I’m wrong, and Ashley is not Melanie, I’m done. I have been passive for too long. I’ll forcibly remove her from that place if I have to.” Levi nodded, “We will get evidence. We will get her out of there either way.” Cayden and Levi nodded to each other before my mate carried me back to our house.

Time passed by in a haze. I hadn’t told Cayden yet about the twins. He was so busy working on this situation. His problem was the fact that Ashley was gone. Rain grumbled, “It’s all so convenient.” I agreed, “Yeah Ashley’s on vacation and Melanie’s supposedly in Paris.”

Hendrix and Levi had gone to see if they could spot her but they couldn’t. My dad hadn’t sent the guy he had watching with her. All we knew is he followed who he thought was Melanie to the airport. It was all honestly insane.

My phone rang and I checked it. I smiled answering, “Hi, Julianna.” Julianna laughed, “Hello cousin, I have questions! SO MANY QUESTIONS!” I asked, “About?” Julianna answered, “Uhhh the girl your brother brought home who kicked the shit out of some she wolf over him.” I gaped at the phone. Rain yelled, “Get details now!”

I practically shouted, “Excuse me?” Julianna groaned, “You don’t know? How annoying! Jayden said EJ didn’t know either. All I know are the rumors before it was all shut down by your brother.” I snorted, “I’ll call said brother. Which one am I calling?”

Julianna chuckled, “Alexander. I was going to pop to him, but Angela called and told me not to. It was the strangest thing.” I shrieked, “ALEXANDER WENT HOME WITH A GIRL?! What did she look like? What was her name?”

Julianna sighed, “Alas, no one knows. Or no one is talking because your brother ordered them not to with his Alpha command. It’s so dreadfully boring and un-Fairy like of him.” Rain said, “I’m not blocked from Oden, but all he said is they are fine.” I asked, “Did you ask him about the fight?” She answered, “Yeah, he’s not talking but he’s peacock proud about it.” Interesting.

That answered some questions then. I told Rain, “We know Alexander is with Melanie now then.” She asked, “Why would he use an Alpha Command?” I answered with the only thing that made sense, “There’s no way he wanted that to get back to Red Run. They’d get popped to Black Mountain.”

I argued with myself, “Shouldn’t Melanie want that though?” Rain replied, “Yes, unless our mate is correct.” Ugh. She was right. The only reason Melanie wouldn’t like that is if she was also Ashley and thinks her oldest brother is dead. GOD, if this is true the complicated planning that had to go into this mess was on an insane level.

Rain said, “It’s weird this doesn’t hurt our head as much as it did the other day.” She was right. I had a slight irritation but nothing that was going to drop me to my knees. What the hell was going on?! Rain admitted, “I do not have a single clue.” Was it magic?

I shook myself and asked my cousin, “Who was the other girl involved in the fight? Was she in our pack?” Julianna laughed, “She was not from your pack, and I do not know her name.” I sighed, “So you know there was a fight with two non-pack members in our territory.”

Julianna huffed, “I mean, I know Alexander BROUGHT A GIRL HOME! I mean honestly that’s bulletin worthy news right there. Obviously she’s a fighter, so he’s probably giving lessons.” I laughed, “But.”

Julianna squealed, “BUT, and this is a big BUT, my source says she glimpsed Alexander kissing the girl passionately.” I bit my lip. I’d just bet he did. I was calling my Beta and Gamma stat. I asked, “Did the woman Alexander brought home win the fight?” Julianna laughed, “That’s not on the list of details I cared about cousin. If you get answers, let me know.” Thankfully, Julianna hung up before I could say anything.

I called My Beta. Tory answered, “I’m with Gia and we don’t know. I’m FURIOUS.” I snorted, “You don’t know who the fight was with?” Gia squealed, “Who do you both love?” Tory gasped, “You found out who the fight was with?” Gia said, “Yes, Gia did. My former fuck buddy is in her pack and we swap pack gossip still. Dylan Frost, Buttercup and Wesley took her back to Alpha Theo’s pack.”

Tory shouted, “NOOOOOOOOOO!” Gia cackled, “YES!” I asked, “What are we squealing about? Who was it?” Tory answered, “Tell me it was Claire.” I gasped, “No!” Gia screamed, “YES!” I snorted, “Go the other chick then.” Tory agreed, “No joke.”

I said, “In other news, I do have a secret for you both to keep.” Gia clapped, “Yes! We need our own secrets because Phil and Gage are far too quiet and unresponsive.” I said, “Well, Phil is with Alexander.” Tory said, “But Gage isn’t.” I reasoned, “He’s out mate hunting. That’s what your memo said about that.” Tory snorted, “It feels very convenient now.” Didn’t it just?

Tory sighed, “Anyway, what’s your secret we are keeping?” I announced, “I’m pregnant with twins.” I pulled the phone away as they screeched excitedly. Rain chuckled, “That was very loud.” I agreed, “It definitely was.” Gia told me, “I’m so happy for you, but how DARE you not tell us you were trying.” Tory replied, “She wasn’t. I made her appointment for her Depot shot and she got it.”

I explained, “It ran out early.” Gia asked, “How did our Alpha Male take it? Are you on lockdown?” I admitted, “He doesn’t know yet.” Tory snorted, “He’s going to put you on a serious lockdown. I’ll just plan to do everything virtually with you for the pack.”

I laughed, “It won’t be that bad, hopefully. I have Ghiza on alert.” Rain reminded me, “War.” Ok, it might be that bad. I hung up with them and called the next person on my list who would have some more details.

I called Angela. She answered, “Hellooooo, big sister.” I questioned, “How badly did Melanie injure Claire?” Angela giggled, “I knew you would figure it out! I’m not sure that’s her name though.” Huh? Rain said, “I’m sure it is.”

Angela sighed, “It’s fuzzy. It’s her name but it’s not.” My heart stopped and I whispered, “What do you mean?” Rain said, “You know what she means.” Angela sighed, “It’s complicated. You are right though, the crazy she wolf named Claire obsessed with our brother is who she fought. The one that tried to ruin my birthday.”

I laughed along with Rain. I said, “I did know that because I called my Beta and Gamma.” She nonchalantly said, “I warned her that someone would kick her ass. Melanie or not Melanie broke her back, and Alexander refused to heal her.”

I laughed, “Why can you talk about it, but no one else can?” Angela giggled, “I wasn’t there. I was with Klaus, I just see things.” I cooed, “I love you. What else can you tell me?” Angela sighed, “Not much. Things with those two are a little blurry. Klaus and I are trying to figure it out. I just figured out how to get Alexander to the blur after I got an email.”

I laughed, “An email? Also, good job on figuring it out.” Angela answered, “This venue emailed me their upcoming events and that’s how I got him to the event. I contemplated sending several people, but he was happiest. I was hedging my bets anyway because his path continued to be blurry.” Interesting.

Angela happily transitioned topics, “Anyway, you should tell Cayden about the twins today.” It was the push I needed. I announced, “I’ll go tell him now.” Angela clapped then shouted, “YAY!” I told her, “Love ya, little sis. Go keep causing chaos.” She said goodbye and we got off the phone.
