She shouted, “WHAT? OW! SERIOUSLY!? But... he can’t know I’m a source! You said… I’m… that’s… SECRET SOURCE!” I laughed, “He doesn’t know it’s you that he agreed to meet with. Cassie asked him if he’d do it for a source of mine. He agreed.”
Ashley started pacing. I now knew what Micah meant by hyperventilating and talking. She said, “He could come here…. No, he can’t come here... but he could… what if he did? Oh gosh... what if he hated me? What if he liked me? What if…?”
Mason shouted, “ASHLEY!” She shrieked and ran back to the office. Mason came out and sat down. Eventually he asked me, “Are you trying to kill my girl?” He saw her as his own daughter. I snorted, “No, I would like your girl to answer my questions. For some reason, I believe Alexander is the best chance I have of that.” I watched him carefully and saw the truth on his face. I was right.
I admitted, “I don’t know why, and I don’t care. I won’t hurt Ashley, but I’m done playing fair. The ironic thing is we already know that we both know the answers. See, I know you taught her how to ride a motorcycle. I know she’s in The Resistance, and I think you are too. What I can’t figure out is why theheck she can’t tell me that. Or why everything Alexander makes her twitchy and nervous. She likes someone from back home, but if I didn’t know better, I’d say she likes Alexander. But he’s not from her home.”
Mason shrugged, “A girl can like more than one guy at a time.” I nodded, “I know that.” I truly did, but everyone bone in my body told me Ashley just wasn’t the type. I said, “Melanie McAlister.” A few forks dropped onto plates around us.
I looked over and saw Valentina, Blair, Addison, and Sierra sitting at a different booth. Interesting. Especially considering it was their forks had dropped. Micah linked, “Holy shit! Do they know her?” I replied, “It appears like they do.”
Mason questioned too casually, “Is that name supposed to mean something to me?” It did mean something to him. I could see it in his eyes. I just didn’t know what. I shrugged while Mason studied me then got up.
I grabbed his arm gently then asked, “Are you ok? I heard you were hurt.” Mason turned, “I’m almost one hundred percent. I’ll be back in the gym tomorrow.” Ashley and Hendrick yelled, “NO YOU WON’T!” Mason snorted, “If you don’t stop drinking coffee little girl…” Ashley shouted, “I NEED COFFEE!”
Mason rolled his eyes, “She’s going to worry herself right into an early grave. You want her to say yes about Alexander.” I nodded, “Of course I do. I want answers and she CLEARLY wants to meet him.” Mason winked saying, “Yes and no.”
I shot back, “Care to explain that?” Mason laughed, “I really don’t. You make her happy. Talking with you two and helping you out makes her happy. It brings the Ashley out I know is there. The one she’s always meant to be, but she has an edge. She’s seen too much darkness in the world. I find myself hoping she can agree to go to your realm and be truly happy.” He slid me a piece of paper and walked off. I waited until he was back in the kitchen, then I opened the note.

I think this is horseshit all the way, but I’ve noticed your pal Micah sitting in town in the coffee shop. I assume he’s trying to get some answers about Ash. I know he’s heard the rumors about her dad not truly being her dad.
Here is that story: When she didn’t shift, she was told the man who came and killed her parents, and her older brother, was her biological father. She’s hurting and has been ever since then. It clicked for her why her remaining brother turned on her and why she was sent away from their pack.
Her grandparents on her dad's side shunned her as if she didn’t adore her grandfather, and he adored her. At least that what’s she says. From the stories, and the fact we all know she’s a terrible liar, I do think he truly adored her.
On her mom’s side, they couldn’t stand to see her and be reminded of her mother. That’s where the long lost sister of her mom’s came into the picture. If I was her mother’s family, I’d have turned my back on that shrew too. Stephanie McCann is god awful. She wasn’t even sad when her mate was killed attacking another pack. Bitter old hag. Ash’s family should be ashamed they sent her to that woman.
I’m sure you’ve put it together that Ashley now thinks Slade Carter is her biological father. I don’t see it. She shares no features with him, and the whole story reeks of a tall tale. She’s gunning for Slade, hard. I’m afraid for her and I don’t know what to do.
In truth, I’m hoping between you, Micah, me, and Hendrick we can help her. She’s determined to get to him, which we all know means she will. I just hope you can convince her to go to your realm. I knowyou’d protect her. I know you don’t blame her for what happened to her family and never would. Just keep trying. Please. I do not want to see her get hurt any more than she has been.

You had to be motherfucking kidding me. Ashley did NOT have Hunter blood in her. I don’t know why she didn’t have a wolf, but she was a pure blooded Werewolf. I knew it. I showed the letter to Micah. He whistled then linked me, “What a crock of shit!” I nodded.
I stood to go find Asley with Micah. I found her passed out beside her computer. I linked Micah, “I guess the caffeine ran out.” I picked up her computer and plugged it in. The screen sprang to life. I saw that Ashley had filled out the paperwork to file against Trevor, but she hadn’t submitted it to anyone.
Really? Alexander says to do it, and he gets farther than any of us had? I clicked on the tab with her email. She had about sixteen drafts saved and they were all to Alexander. I pulled up his last email.

As far as your belief that you are bothering me, I promise you that you aren’t. I’m glad you find the workout programs helpful. I put those videos out there with tips in the hopes that people find them useful. I am truly glad you and your pack have. Well, the Warriors you train anyway.I find your thoughts on your counterpart interesting. You have a dichotomy of thoughts about him. I say trust your instincts there.
I have never heard a Female Lead Warrior call their counterpart obnoxious because he just keeps his head down and doesn’t make waves. You ranged from understanding to being upset with him. It says you’re a good person who sees the good in people and the potential they have.
It is impressive you took down all the leadership of your pack for your position. I think you could put out videos yourself. You’ve clearly got the skills to do so. I’m sure your videos would rival mine in popularity. My Beta said if no one there has the social media skills to launch that side to career he’d be willing to help out. He’s quite savvy with all of it. He majored in Marketing, PR, and Data Analytics. He practically salivating over the option to launch THE Ashley Griffen. He’s always been insisted you’d be best friends.

I know you said you can’t make Elise’s birthday, but she would really love to see you if you can manage it. We’d all love to meet you.
You are an inspiration to the wolf less in our community. I have had several wolf less members in our pack tell me they will be the next Ashley Griffen. You inspire not just them, but me as well.
I wish you would leave a pack where you do not respect the Alpha. I’d tell you if I respected Alpha Davis to give him another chance, but I don't. I know he is doing things he shouldn’t. On a different subject, this business with the wolf claiming to be your mate has my attention in a way that man does not want it. My wolf and I both are enraged.
