My nipples rub against his chest as a familiar ache starts to form. I feel my walls start to tighten seconds before I shatter. His name leaves my lips on a cry, pushing him over the edge with me. I feel his warmth fill me as our bodies pulse together.

Slick with sweat, we sit there locked together in a perfect fit as our heavy breathing finds a steady rhythm together. He pushes my damp hair away from my face and kisses me tenderly on the lips.

“I love you,” he whispers against me.

“I love you.” I lean against him and bury my face in his neck, inhaling his scent. My body is deliciously spent and too exhausted to move. His hand runs up and down my back, and it takes everything in me not to fall asleep.

“Let’s get you home. You must be exhausted.”

“It just hit me all of a sudden,” I yawn. He lifts me, and I climb back over and get comfortable in the seat. “In case I fall asleep…thank you for tonight. I had the best time,” I say sleepily.

“I had the best time, too,” he smiles. Leaning over me, he makes sure my seatbelt is secure before backing us out and taking us home. I watch him drive until I’m no longer able to keep my eyes open, and the lull of the vehicle finally pulls me under.

I wakeup and reach for Ryder only to find his side of the bed empty. I barely remember getting home last night and him tucking me in bed.

Glancing at the clock I see it’s only six in the morning. Surprisingly, I feel full of energy as I sit up in bed. A smile stretches across my face as I quickly get up and throw on some gym shorts with a sports bra. I’ve been wanting to get back in the gym since I got here and I know that’s exactly where Ryder is right now.

The thought of him shirtless and sweating in the gym has me brushing my teeth and throwing on my workout shoes in a matter of seconds.

I pick up the monitor to take with me as I walk quietly past our sleeping girl. Ryder ended up getting her last night from Jake’s room. He’s just as addicted to her as I am. Taking my keys from the counter, I make sure the front door is locked before walking across the pool deck toward the garage.

The ocean breeze lifts my ponytail in the wind as I inhale the salty air. I forgot how peaceful the mornings are here. I see a few early morning runners on the beach, but for the most part, it’s deserted.

With my hand on the garage door, I turn and look behind me. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up, giving me goosebumps down my arms. I scan the area and see nothing. Shaking my head, I dismiss the feeling and go inside.

I see Ryder with his back to me. He’s covered in sweat as he finishes a rep with the weights. Muscles strain with each movement, creating a gorgeous sight before me. He must sense my eyes on him because he turns his head before a smile breaks out on his face. God, he’s a gorgeous sight. His dark hair is tucked under a backward hat, with a few longer pieces peeking out. My eyes roam his chest before dipping lower where his black gym shorts hang low on his hips.

“Have I ever told you how much I love your insatiable appetite?” His greys dance with amusement as he sets his weights down.

“You have,” I grin. “It’s almost as much as I love yours.” I walk over, and he brings me in for a kiss.

“Good morning,” he breathes against my lips. “What are you doing up so early?” He glances down at the monitor in my hands and smiles when he sees Ryland’s sleeping face.

“I woke up full of energy, and I’ve been wanting to get back in the gym, so I thought I would join you today.”

“Just don’t overdo it,” he puts a hand on my small bump.

“I won’t. I worked out all through Ryland’s pregnancy. It’s good for me and the baby. So is eye candy, so don’t let me keep you from finishing your workout.”

He laughs and picks up the weights again as I do some stretching before getting on the treadmill.

“You have my permission to look as much as you want. It’s all yours anyway.” He winks at me and starts working on his biceps.

I put on a steady pace as I run and watch the show in front of me. I can’t believe I’ve been missing this every day. I’m officially sold on morning workouts together. I glance down at the monitor and see it blank. That’s weird. I know it’s fully charged.

Slowing down, I try turning it back on and off.

“All good?” I glance up and see Ryder watching me.

“The screen went off.” I frown and hit the power button again. It lights back up, and I see the little body lump still there sleeping. She’s buried under her blanket now, but at least I can watch for movement. “It’s working now. I guess it just needed a reset.” I set it down and finish the rest of my run before doing some yoga stretches on the mat.

I’m on my back at the end of stretching when Ryder comes over and straddles me. Holding my hands above my head, he pins me to the mat.

“I think that’s enough eye candy for the both of us. Those poses you do should be illegal.” He licks my neck and takes a small bite. I feel him hard against me, and my hips lift, wanting more. “I say we have exactly thirty minutes before Ryland wakes up. How about we sneak back in and make very good use of the shower while we still can?”

“Deal.” Grinning, he gets off of me and helps me up. Taking my hand, he leads us back to our place. I stop when I see the door slightly open. Chills run down my spine, and fear like I’ve never felt grips my insides.

“The door was locked, Ryder. I swear I locked it.” I grip his hand tightly, and he pulls me behind him.
