“I love her, Sav. I talked to Mom and Dad, and they’re coming home in a couple of weeks. I want you all to meet her. Can you get away for the weekend?”
“You know I’ll be there. I can’t wait to meet her.”
“I have a feeling you two are going to get along really well together.” I laugh, thinking of all the mischief the two of them got into when they were younger. Savi had the boys lining up for her with her dark hair and big blue eyes, but she only had eyes for one back then.
Thankfully, he kept her out of trouble because they were inseparable. Once she graduated high school, though, they broke up suddenly, and it nearly destroyed her. She wanted a fresh start, so she decided to attend a college in Georgia.
“If you and Max love her, I know I will too.”
We talk for a few more minutes while I fill her in with everything before I have to let her go for my next appointment. I glance at my clock and see it’s almost noon. Sophia should be having lunch right now. Ever since our last lunch text, I make sure to text her around this time because I literally think of her nonstop and can’t help myself.
Travis
Hey, beautiful. Miss me yet?
I see the three dots appear instantly and grin, knowing she’s been waiting for my text, too.
Sophia
I always miss you. How’s your day going?
Travis
Better now that I’m texting you.
Is it cheesy how I sound? Hell yeah, it is. Do I care? Fuck no.
Travis
I talked to Savi. She’s able to come down in a couple of weeks. This is your last chance to back out. Once you meet my whole family, they won’t let you go.
Sophia
I can’t wait to meet them all. I’m not backing out. You are stuck with me.
I grin like an idiot into the phone before responding.
Travis
Good, because even though it sounded like I was asking, I wasn’t. You’re mine, wildcat.
Sophia
Why do you have to say things like that when I’m at work? You know what that does to me.
Sophia
But yes, I am yours, Travis. Always.
Travis
And I’m yours. I need to get ready for my next appointment. I’ll see you at home, babe.
Home. I’ll never get tired of saying that to her.
Sophia
