“The other shoe is not going to drop. You deserve this, babe, and have been wanting this since you and I were little and would pretend we were princesses getting married to our princes. This is your fairytale, your happy ever after.” I smile back at Bella before glancing at Travis at the bar.

He’s talking with the guys, and I let my eyes wander over him. He’s wearing a dark grey t-shirt that hugs his broad chest and arms, and I see a glimmer of his tattoos peaking out from his collar. I know every line and design on his perfect body, from wanting to memorize every detail I could soak up. I work my way up to his five o’clock shadow, which he wears more and more because he knows how much I love it. His full pink lips are parted slightly, and I desperately want to swipe my tongue across them. His greys are burning into mine once I reach his eyes. I don’t know how long he’s been watching me, but it’s long enough that he knows what I’m thinking and feels it, too.

“Here, drink this before you combust from the heat.” I tear my gaze away and see Bella holding up a glass of ice water. “The sexual tension in this room is burning like an inferno in here.”

I laugh and take a long swallow, welcoming the coolness to my overheated body. “Is this the way it was for you two? We can’t get enough of each other. I want him all the fucking time.”

“Welcome to our world.” Emma and Bella laugh.

Noah walks over and sets two pitchers of beer on our table before taking the seat next to Emma. Maverick starts pouring the drinks for us as he talks to Noah about their upcoming surf day. I tune them out as Travis sits down next to me. He’s soclose our thighs are touching, which send tiny sparks through my body. He leans over, and I immediately breathe in his spicy scent.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been eye fucked so hard in my life,” he whispers against my ear sending shivers down my spine. “I was two seconds away from throwing you over my shoulder and taking you back to the truck so we could finish what we started earlier.” His hand finds my thigh under the table as he rests it on my bare skin, so close yet so far away from where my body pulses for him.

I take a long drink of the beer sitting in front of me. Everyone is still talking and not paying us a bit of attention, even though it feels like I have a big flashing neon sign above my head that says I’m about to combust because of the man beside me. His hand slides up further, and his thumb brushes against my damp panties.

“Christ, wildcat. You’re fucking soaked right now,” he says quietly in my ear. I bite back a moan as his thumb deliciously tortures me.

“What? No one called and invited us to the party.” I look up and see Logan and Sara standing at our table. I met them both at Noah and Emma’s wedding. Logan and Maverick have become close and surf a lot together now. They got off to a rocky start, with Logan taking Bella on a date and Maverick almost sleeping with Sara. In a weird way, though, it brought them all together, and Logan and Sara found each other.

Travis removes his hand, and I almost whimper like a child who came close to getting what I wanted, only to have it taken away. It must show on my face because I hear Travis chuckle softly beside me. “Later, baby,” he says quietly before eyeing our new guests.

“Logan, it’s good to see you, man. You have perfect timing. We needed an extra guy to play pool. You in?” Mav grins at him.

Logan raises an eyebrow at Sara. “Go,” she laughs. “I’ll sit with the girls and catch up.”

“Perfect. Logan, Sara, this is Travis, Sophia’s boyfriend. Travis, this is Logan and Sara. It’s a long story that Sophia can fill you in later on how we met, but they’re friends of ours.” Maverick laughs.

“Nice to meet you guys.” Travis smiles at them both as they say hi.

“You girls good for a bit? It shouldn’t take too long to kick their ass.” Noah kisses Emma before standing up. “Logan, you’re with me. They both beat me at cornhole today,” he says, pointing at Travis and Maverick, “and I need payback.”

“You think Logan’s going to help you?” Mav laughs and shakes his head before getting up.

“Kicking your ass is going to feel so good,” Logan chuckles. I watch them walk away toward the pool table next to us.

“This should be fun,” Travis laughs beside me. “I’ll be back soon. Hold that thought you were having,” he winks at me before following the boys. I can’t help but admire his behind in those dark jeans he’s wearing as he walks away.

“Okay, when did this happen?” I look at Sara, and she’s motioning between me and Travis. I instantly took a liking to Sara and Logan when I met them. They’re really sweet and seem happy together. Logan is a good-looking guy with his blond hair and blue eyes giving off the lifeguard vibe, and Sara looks every bit like a sweetheart with her beautiful blue eyes and long brunette hair.

I fill her in on the details while we finish the pitcher of beer and order another one.

“How are you and Logan doing?” I ask, glancing over at theguys playing pool—or rather, at the tatted-up one leaning over the table, his muscles straining as he hits the ball.

“Don’t mind her. She’s been eye fucking him all night.” I whip my head to look at Bella, and she fights back a grin.

“It must be the full moon. It’s doing something to me. This must be what animals feel like when they are in heat.” I look at them, and we all bust out laughing.

“To answer your question,” Sara wipes tears from her eyes when we finally calm down, “we seem to be in the same phase as you two. I’ve moved into his place, and we’re inseparable. I get along great with his sisters and the rest of his family. My parents love him, and we’ve talked about getting everyone together this year for the holidays so they can all meet.”

“I’m so happy for you two.” Bella squeezes Sara’s hand. “I love how it all worked out and brought us together.”

“Me too, and I’m glad it’s not awkward between us because I really love having you all as friends.”

“I love that we’re friends, too,” Bella smiles.

We pullout of the parking lot a short time later, saying goodbye to everyone. Travis and Maverick pulled off another win, so a rematch date has already been added to everyone’s calendars.

I’ve made the middle seat my permanent place now as I snuggle closer to Travis. “My mom texted me while you were playing pool. Max is sound asleep in the tent, and she said to take our time getting back. I was thinking that we could go to our spot since it's still early.”
