“She did.” I chuckle, setting Sophia down but keeping my hand intertwined in hers.
“I knew she would say yes! Daddy has a girlfriend,” he giggles, causing us both to laugh.
“You’re okay with this, Max?” Sophia lets go of my hand and bends down in front of Max.
Max nods his head enthusiastically. “I told him that I trust you not to leave because we make you so happy, and you make us both happy.”
“Oh, Max,” her voice breaks as she pulls him in for a hug.
“Why are you crying, Miss Lane?”
“These are happy tears, Max,” she laughs and pulls back from the hug to look at him. “You guys just make me so happy, and I’m so glad I make you both happy too. How about outside of school you call me Sophia? Miss Lane can be my name when I’m your teacher at school, and Sophia can be your friend and your daddy’s girlfriend when we are doing things together.”
“Okay.” He nods his head and grins at her. “Can I drive the jet ski today? Please Sophia?”
We both laugh at his excitement. “Of course. I’m going to need your help navigating those waters. We might even see some dolphins today.” She stands up and beams at him.
“Really? Did you hear that, Dad? Dolphins!” He jumps up and down and claps his hands.
“I heard,” I laugh. “Why don’t you make sure your cars are all picked up for Sophia, and I’ll get her bags so we can get going?”
“Yes!” He runs back into the living room, and I put my arms around Sophia from behind and nuzzle her neck.
“Seems like you got both us Montgomery boys wrapped around your finger.” I breathe her in and kiss her neck.
“I’m pretty sure the two of you have me wrapped around yours. He couldn’t be more cuter if he tried.” She sighs and watches Max from the kitchen.
“And the dad?” I take a soft bite, and she giggles.
“The dad definitely has me wrapped around his finger. He’s the most sexiest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. He always knows exactly what to do to make my body burn for him.”
I softly growl into her neck. Her words are turning me on and making my dick hard against her backside. “You keep talking like that, and I’ll have to bribe one of your best friends to watch Max for the day and show my girlfriend just how much I can make her burn for me.”
“As tempting as that sounds, we will have to put that on hold for later because there’s no way I’m disappointing Max by not letting him drive the jet ski today.”
“You’ve been my girlfriend for less than ten minutes, and I’m already getting denied.” I laugh softly in her hair. “But I know you’re right. Later, though, you’re all mine.”
“I look forward to it.” I hear her sigh as I give her one more kiss on the neck before releasing her.
“Let’s get this day started.” I grab her bags from the table and follow her to the living room.
“You ready, Max?” Sophia grins down at him.
“I’m ready!” I watch him put his hand in hers, and the loveI have for the both of them washes over me as I see their dark heads together in a conversation as we walk to my truck. Everything I want for my future is right here, and I intend to make it happen. Tonight, I’ll tell her how I feel, and once I do, I’m never letting her go.
Chapter Twenty-Five
Sophia
We pull up to my parents’house a little while later, and I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since we left my place. Travis asking me to be his girlfriend and talking to Max erases any doubt in my mind about how serious he is. I know how much trust it took to tell Max about us, and I don’t take that lightly.
Max places his hand in mine as we walk to my parents’ side gate. I glance over at Travis, and he smiles at me over the top of Max’s head. Leaning over, he places a soft kiss on my lips.
“What was that for?”
“No reason. I just wanted to kiss my girlfriend.” He grins back at me with his greys full of light.
“I love the sound of that.” I grin back at him.
