“Christ, the sounds you make are going to be my undoing. I love knowing I’m the one causing you to make them. It makes me so fucking hard.” His hand moves lower to my bottom as he presses against me.

“Oh God,” I whisper into his shirt. I can feel how aroused he is as heat forms between my legs. My body has never reacted this way to someone, and it scares the hell out of me that he can make me feel this much.

The song ends, and we reluctantly break apart. “I think I’m going to pay Jake to leave earlier than planned,” he grounds out.

“You can’t do that,” I giggle. “We’ve got what? Two hours tops before Max will be ready to go. Just think of it as two hours worth of foreplay.” I grin up at him and bat my eyelashes.

“You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into when we get back to my place. I’m likely to jump you the minute you walk in the house after two hours of foreplay.”

“Promise?” My eyes shine with a challenge.

He grabs my hand and runs it along the stubble that he hastonight. “I didn’t shave, so I think I owe someone a few marks on her thighs.”

Desire shoots straight to my center, catching me off guard. It must show on my face because his greys turn darker, and his grip on my hand increases. I’m just about to respond when Maverick and Noah come up to us. We break away and do our best to hide our emotions.

“Can we talk to Travis for a sec?” I glance at Maverick and then Noah.

“Why?” I narrow my eyes and look at them both. I see Bella and Emma behind them, mouthingsorryto me. It’s not the first time Mav and Noah have done this, but it’s the first time I really don’t want them to mess this up.

“We just want to talk to him, sis. See where his head is at. It’ll only take a second.” I sigh, knowing it’s useless to go up against them. They’re going to have this talk with or without my permission.

“It’s okay. Head back over to the table. I’ll be there in a second. I don’t mind talking to them.” I look at Travis, and he gives me a reassuring smile.

I glance back at Maverick and Noah. “Be nice. I like this one.”

“We know you do. We’ll be nice,” I hear Noah say as I walk back to the table.

The girls meet me halfway, and Bella grabs my arm. “I’m so sorry. I tried to tell Maverick that you’re a grown-ass woman, but they insisted on having a chat with him. Mav likes him, though, and so does Noah. They just want to make sure his intentions are good.”

I watch them talk and wish I knew what they were saying.

“You guys looked like you worked through some things. I think you left a permanent scorch mark on the dance floor where you were standing,”Emma laughs.

I turn to look at her and grin. “We had a good talk on the beach. We both want to see where this will go. He swore my job wouldn’t be at risk, and we’re keeping Max out of it until we know for sure where this is going. I’ve never felt this way before. He woke up something inside me that has been missing with other guys. He asked me to stay with him tonight. Jake and Ryder are taking Max back with them.”

“I knew it! I knew he couldn’t stay away from you.” Bella grins at me. “I’m so happy for you, Soph.”

“Me too,” Emma says, squeezing my hand. “If anyone deserves to find what Bella and I have, it’s you.”

“Thanks, guys. It’s hard not to get my hopes up and get my heart involved so early, but I think a piece of my heart went to him the moment I met his son. I just hope my gut is right, and I make it out of this in one piece.”

I watch the guys again and breathe a little better when I see Mav and Noah laughing at something Travis said.

“You will. I felt the same way with Noah, and I get the same good feeling about Travis.”

I watch the boys walk over and meet Travis’s gaze, trying to get a sense of how he’s feeling after that talk. I turn to Maverick and eye him.

“It’s all good, Soph,” he laughs. “Don’t go all feral on me. What kind of brother would I be if I didn’t let it known what would happen if he hurts you?”

“Oh, God. Tell me you guys didn’t threaten him.” I look at Travis, who is smiling next to me.

“I have a sister, and I completely understand where they’re coming from. I’ve threatened more guys than I can count with my younger sister, and she has four older brothers, so you can imagine the hell we put her through,” he laughs.

“I can’t imagine two more of them,” I say, pointing at Maverick and Noah. “She has to be a saint.”

“We’re not that bad,” Noah says, grinning behind Emma with his arms around her.

“No, lucky for me, my brother was too busy keeping guys away from Bella, giving me a free pass when he wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing,” I grin at Bella, and she rolls her eyes.
