All three are gorgeous, but it’s the black-haired one with green eyes that I can’t look away from. She takes a sip of her wine, and I watch as her slender throat moves as she swallows. She laughs again at something Bella says, and my dick twitches in my pants at the sound. Even her laugh is sexy as hell.
I tear my gaze away when my food is placed in front of me. They have a hockey game playing on the TV, so I try and focus on that while I eat.
I’m about finished when I see two good-looking guys walk over to the girls’ table. They must know them because all three of them give them hugs and make room for them at their table. A pang of jealousy shoots through my body as one of them sits next to Sophia. She places her hand on his arm and laughs at something he says.
The need to walk over there and pull him out of his seat overcomes me, but I force myself to stay put. I already feel like a stalker, and it’s not like she’s mine to claim. I finish my meal and pay my tab before heading to the restroom. This was a bad idea. I need to leave and find someone else for the night who doesn’t make me feel like I’m going out of my fucking mind. I never get jealous, and I sure as hell have never watched someone from across the room with thoughts running through my mind about all the ways I want to have her.
I walk out of the bathroom, and a light floral scent hits me as she walks into my chest.
“Sorry. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.” She looks up and gasps. Her green eyes filled with surprise.
“We’ve got to stop meeting like this in bathroom hallways. Do you always bump into random strangers, or is it just me?” My hands automatically went to her waist to steady her when she ran into me, and I can’t will myself to remove them. She’s wearing cutoff jean shorts this time and a cropped t-shirt. My hands burn into her skin as I grip her tighter instead of letting her go.
“It’s just you, it seems. What are you doing here?”
“I’ve been asking myself that same question all night. I went to grab some dinner and found myself here. Having fun with your friends?” Her eyes search mine, probably trying to figure out if I’m some crazy stalker like Nathan. That makes two of us.
“I am. I’m with Bella, who you already met, and Emma,Bella’s sister-in-law. Their guys were watching the hockey game tonight, so we decided to go out for a couple of drinks.”
“Who are the guys you are with? Friends of yours, too?” Shit, I realize as soon as I said it that she’s going to know I’ve been watching her. I couldn’t stop the words from coming out. My jealousy got the better of me.
“You’ve been watching me?” She narrows her eyes at me and avoids the question. Someone walks into the hallway, and I move us to the side, putting her back against the wall. It seems like we are always finding ourselves in this position, too.
“Not by choice. So, who are they?” I reach for her hair and run a silky strand through my fingers.
“Frankie and Thomas. I work with Frankie. Thomas is his partner.”
Relief washes through me, knowing they don’t have any feelings toward each other. Someone leaves the bathroom, leaving us alone again in the hallway. Her gaze drops to my lips, and before I can talk myself out of it, I’m pushing my tongue through her parted lips and invading her mouth in a frenzy.
She must have been wanting the same thing because she kisses me back with the same urgency. Her hands come up into my hair, and when she grabs hold tightly, I growl, bringing her closer to me. I’m straining against my pants as I press into her stomach. I hear her moan at the contact, and I know that sound is going to be my undoing. I have to have her. Just one night, I tell myself. I can let myself enjoy her for one night.
“Whoa!” I break away, breathing hard, before tearing my gaze away from Sophia and seeing Bella standing there in shock.
“Hi. Bella, is it?” I grin at her, and she looks between us, at a loss for words, before settling on me and grinning back.
“Travis, I see you two found each other again.” She winks at Sophia, causing me to grin even more.
“It seems we can’t stop running into each other. Literally.”
“I’m sorry I interrupted. I was coming to let Sophia know that Emma and I are headed out. Frankie and Thomas said they could take you home if you wanted to stay.”
“I’ll take her home,” I say, the words flying out of my mouth before I can stop them. Both girls turn to look at me, surprised. Hell, I surprised myself. Bella turns to her friend with a grin.
“Is that what you want?” She asks Sophia.
Sophia looks at her before moving her eyes to me. “I promise I don’t bite. Unless you want me to.” I give her a wicked grin and hear Bella stifle a laugh. Something flashes briefly in Sophia’s eyes, causing them to burn bright with desire. Yeah, she’s a wildcat, alright. She wants me just as bad as I want her right now.
She turns back to Bella. “Yeah, I’m good. You guys go ahead. Tell Emma I said I’ll call her tomorrow.” My heart beats against my chest at the thought of her on my bike with me.
Bella turns to me and narrows her eyes. “Take care of her, Travis. If I find out you’re not the good guy I think you are, the knee to the balls that Sophia gave you will look like child’s play.”
I bite my cheek to stop from laughing. “I’ll take care of her. She’s in good hands.”
The girls hug, and Bella whispers something in Sophia’s ear, causing her to laugh before she walks away.
“Did you want to stay longer or…”
“I’m ready now,” she says, cutting me off. The heat in her eyes tells me all I need to know. I grab her hand and make our way outside to my bike.
