“Fuck off.” Finn grunted. He gentlypushed me away and stared Jase straight in the eye. “Although if you ever fuck her over, I will kill you.”

Jase held his hands up. “I have absolutely no intention of doing that. Fucking her, on the other hand…”

Finn clamped his hands over his ears. “La, la, la…that is exactly the kind of thing I don’t need to hear.”

Jase came up behind me and placed a tender kiss on my exposed neck. I shivered, knowing Finn was watching, still finding it strange that we were now all okay with this. My brother shook his head and dropped his hands to the table.

I looked between them. “Finn, thank you. I know it must have been a bit of a shock, but we’re both serious about each other. Nothing’s going to change that.”

He nodded. “I know that. And I’m pleased for you. Honestly, you make the perfect couple.”

My shoulders sagged as relief washed over me. I couldn’t have been happier at how everything had all worked out.

Chapter Twenty-Five

“I still can’t believe you two are together.” Finn shook his head. “How did I not notice?”

Jase and I exchanged a glance. Even though everything was out in the open now, it didn’t feel right to suddenly go around being all touchy-feely in front of him.

“There’s been a lot of sneaking around.” Jase smirked, winking at me.

“A lot,” I confirmed.

“Ugh.” My brother pulled a face. “I don’t think I want to know.

After all the stress and excitement of Barney and Lenora’s wedding the previous day, we’d had a chilled-out time, not doing a great deal, all of us finally ending up in the living room, variously messaging friends, checking the socials, or playing games.

But every time I’d looked over at Jase this evening, hair damp from the shower and dressed in a fitted T-shirt, and sweatpants hanging off his hips, all I wanted to do was lose myself in him.

I stretched and yawned. “I think I’m going to go to bed.”

“‘Night, sis,” said Finn, barely looking up from his phone.

I got up and walked over to Jase, then leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek. “Sleep well. I’ll see you in the morning.” With a sigh, I left and headed upstairs to my room. The moment I shut the door, my phone pinged.

Jase

Are you really going to sleep?

Not yet…

Jase

Want some company?

I thought you’d never ask… xxx

I sat cross-legged on the bed, scrolling my socials, and waited. A good five minutes passed before I heard a tentative knock on the door.

“Come in,” I called.

Jase opened the door and poked his head through. “Even though we don’t have to sneak around anymore, this whole ‘keeping our distance while we’re with Finn’ is killing me.”

Nodding in agreement, I patted the bed next to me. “Then join me, and shut the door behind you. He won’t be coming in here.”

He cocked an eyebrow as he pushed the door shut. “Maybe you will…?”
