A steamy, explosive session of out-of-this-world sex.

Everything a woman could have wanted for her thirtieth birthday.

Any regrets I’d had after our first kiss melted away. My toes curled in pleasure at the memories of his cock inside me. I wondered if he’d be up for a repeat performance. But first, I really needed to get a drink.

The pint glass on the bedside table was empty, so I’d have to go downstairs for a refill. Carefully, I slid out from under the duvet, not wanting to disturb Alex. At least, not yet anyway. Grabbing a t-shirt from a pile of his clothes on the chair, I pulled it over my head and headed out of the bedroom. After a quick pit stop in the bathroom, I went downstairs to the kitchen.

Once I’d found a fresh glass, I turned on the tap. Humming while I filled it, I got lost in my own thoughts until a female voice called out.

“Alex, is that you? I didn’t hear you come home last night.”

My hand froze, the water flooding over the rim of the glass and cascading over my fingers.

I turned towards where the voice was coming from and almost dropped my drink. Instead, I placed it on the draining board before it smashed into pieces.

Standing in the doorway was Sonya from the Ealynn Marina Hotel, her jaw hanging slack. “Georgie?”

“Um, hi, Sonya,” I stuttered. “How are you?” Instinctively, I pulled the hem of Alex’s shirt down to cover my modesty.

She narrowed her eyes, taking in the sight in front of her and muttered, “Confused?”

Alex skidded into the kitchen, wearing just a pair of boxer shorts, his hair mussed-up bedhead. I remembered how it had felt as I’d raked my fingers through it when he’d thrust so deeply the second time we’d fucked during the night. Then I remembered there was another person in the room and brought my thoughts back to PG-rated.

“Mum! I didn’t know you were here. I thought you were going shopping with Martha today.”

Sonya folded her arms across her chest. “Clearly.”

“Wait, what?Mum?” My head pinged from Alex to Sonya and then back again. I screwed up my eyes as the pieces fell into place in a less icky way than I’d originally imagined them.

Alex crossed the room and stood by my side. “Mum, this is Georgie. She works with me at the restaurant.”

“I know who she is.” Sonya’s tone was measured as she took in the sight in front of her.

I forced a smile, acutely aware I was standing in her kitchen without any knickers on, dressed only in her son’s t-shirt. “Good to see you again.”

“Do you want to tell me what’s going on here?” demanded Sonya, fixing Alex with a glare.

“I’m pretty sure you don’t need me or Alex to spell it out for you.” I snuggled into Alex, wrapping my arms around his waist. “He’s a big boy, surely he’s allowed to bring girls home?”

“Girls, maybe, but you’re…” Sonya let her sentence trail off, her tone loaded.

“Hardly that much older than him,” I said.

“You should have said you were bringing someone home,” Sonya hissed at Alex. “I wasn’t prepared for this.”

“We didn’t exactly plan it.” Alex squeezed my shoulder. “It was as much of a surprise to us as it was to you.”

Sonya snorted. “This a one off then?”

I turned my face up towards Alex. We hadn’t exactly had the chance to discuss what this was, one night, two, or something more. I was interested to know how he was going to answer his mum’s question.

“Talk about putting me on the spot, Mum.” His cheeks flushed.

Good. It must be more than a one time thing.

Sonya flapped a hand in front of her face. “You’re right, I don’t need to hear your plans now.” Sonya turned to leave the room. “Next time, Alex, maybe you can warn me?” She threw over her shoulder as she exited.

As soon as she had gone, I pulled away from Alex. Hands on hips, I turned to face him. “So, this isn’t your house?”
