Chapter Thirteen

The glassy, rapt expression in Olivia’s eyes caused Brody to drag in a steadying breath. He hadn’t expected such a reaction when he’d begun to tease her. Given her propensity for being in control, it gave him a rush to see her undone like that. His cock strained against the zipper on his shorts. Suddenly he wished he’d waited until they were back at her place or his before he’d started, because there was no chance of finishing it in the office at the club. He carefully withdrew his fingers, feeling her shudder against him, and stepped back, giving her chance to compose herself.

“Brody? Need to get some more supplies from the builder’s merchant, so Jose and I are heading out for a bit. Anything else you need?”

Apart from a cold shower?

Carlos’s voice came into the room shortly before the foreman himself. It gave Olivia the opportunity to slip off the desk and pretend to be engrossed in a document, her back to him. Brody thanked his lucky stars that Carlos hadn’t come in a couple of moments sooner.

He turned his back on Olivia, making sure to conceal her from prying eyes. “I think we’re good. Make sure you get all the receipts, right?”

“Yes, boss. See you later.”

Then he was gone.

Olivia reached for him, gently touching his shoulder. He turned back to face her.

“If he had come in a minute ago.”

“He would have seen how gorgeous you look whenyoucome.”

The flush that crept into her cheeks was endearing. Brody would have bet his last Euro that she hadn’t done anything like that before. He had her pegged as a missionary, lights off kind of girl, so he was pleasantly surprised to see how she’d reacted to him.

“What are you up to for the rest of the day?” It was an impulsive question, and Brody hoped he would like the answer.

Olivia slipped off the desk, adjusting her clothes. “I just bought dinner, so was going to head back to the apartment.” She pointed towards the supermarket carrier bag that had found its way onto the floor.

“Well, I was wondering if you’d like to explore the island a little, and maybe get dinner with me again?”

Her blue eyes darkened, although he couldn’t be sure it wasn’t her pupils dilating at his suggestion. The corner of her mouth curved upwards. “I think that might be nice.”

“You’ve been on a motorbike before, right?”

The smile all but disappeared from her face, replaced by what could only be described as a look of fear. Slowly, she shook her head.

“Never?”

“Never.”

“Then you’ll have to hold on tightly to me.” Just the thought of her clinging onto him sent Brody’s physical reactions into overdrive. “Come on, it will be an adventure.”

“What about the shopping?”

He grinned and reached for the bag. There was a tiny refrigerator in the corner of the office and he shoved the carrier in there. “It will be fine until later. Now let’s go.”

Brody extended his hand to Olivia and her small palm slid into his. He loved the way her soft skin felt against his, and he wondered whether the roughness of his own hard-working hands against hers turned her on. If the roles were reversed, he knew it would him.

His bike was waiting outside, his helmet hanging from one of the handlebars. “Hang on, I’ll grab the spare. I don’t want to risk anything.”

It took him a couple of minutes to locate it and when he returned, Olivia was leaning against the pillion. She looked every inch a grid girl, her long legs stretched out in front of her, black hair tumbling around her shoulders. Her expression was one of contentment. Brody stifled a sigh. He had to control himself, it would absolutely be worth the wait.

“Here.”

Olivia’s face crinkled up. “What do I do with it?”

“Put it on your head so as not to sustain brain damage if I lose it on a corner?”

Her face transformed into a mask of horror.
