I shake my head and laugh at myself because I shouldn’t be surprised. I never stood a chance against Dominick Antonov. He’s motivated when he wants something—or in my case, someone—and he’s determined to make me his.

“The dress fits you perfectly,” Brielle says, strolling into Dominick’s—er, and my—room.

Since the night we had sex in the VIP room at the club and then spent the rest of the night together, I’ve been sleeping in his room. Little by little, all my stuff has moved from the guest room to his room. The guy is a sneaky bastard, but I kind of love it. He’s always up to something, and generally, it’s for Damien’s or my benefit.

I run my hands down the off-the shoulder white maxi dress, giving myself a once-over in the full-length mirror hanging in the wardrobe. And I saywardrobebecause it’s too big to be considered a closet. It’s bigger than the bedroom I shared with Damien in our apartment.

“Thank you for lending it to me.”

I fluff my red hair that’s hanging down in loose curls and lean in to check my makeup.

“I don’t mind,” Brielle says, “but we’re going to need to go shopping soon. Dominick attends way too many events for you to keep borrowing dresses from me.”

I scrunch my nose up at the thought of shopping, and Brielle laughs.

“Have you ever shopped with unlimited funds? Trust me, it’s lots of fun.”

I laugh and grab my clutch—also lent to me by her. As much as I loathe shopping, she’s right. I do need to buy some new clothes. If I plan to send my résumé out, I’m going to need business-appropriate attire for interviews.

I pull my heels on and head downstairs with her.

Martha said she could watch Damien tonight, but Brielle offered, saying she would be home anyway, so Martha could enjoy her evening.

Damien is sitting in the living room with Dominick, doing the homework his teacher assigned them. It’s just a coloring page, but he takes it so seriously. It’s cute.

When they notice Brielle and me, Damien smiles, and Dominick’s eyes light up with lust. I immediately think back to the past few times we’ve had sex and how he’s ripped several articles of clothing of mine in desperation and impatience to get me undressed.

“Don’t even think about it,” I say to him. “This is your sister’s dress, and I need to return it in one piece.”

He frowns. “Why the hell are you borrowing my sister’s dress?”

“Because she refuses to buy her own clothes,” Brielle tattles. “But I already told her we’re going shopping. We’ll need your black card. She has a lot to buy.”

Dominick grins, and I roll my eyes.

“Mommy, you going buh-bye?” Damien asks.

“I’m going out with Daddy,” I tell him, walking over and sitting next to him on the couch. “You’re going to hang out with Auntie Brielle until bedtime.”

“Okay,” he says. “And I go to school tomorrow?”

“Yep. You’re going to school tomorrow,” I answer. “Did you get your homework done?”

“Yeah, Daddy said I’m so smart ’cause I know all my colors and numbers.” Damien grins up at me, and my heart melts.

The bond between Dominick and Damien is strengthening every day. It doesn’t matter how busy Dominick is. He makes time for our son. And since we discussed him yelling in the house, he hasn’t done it again. I’ve tried to come up with reasons why I should get on birth control, but he’s making it damn hard. I’ve always wanted to have my children close in age, and Damien is about to turn four in a couple of months. I’ve tried to tell myself it’s because I want a career, but I don’t see why I can’t have both. I raised Damien while going to school and working, and now, I’m done with school and have Dominick as a partner.

“Daddy’s right,” I tell him. “You are so smart. Can I have a hug and kiss since I won’t be home when you go to bed?”

He leans in and gives me a hug and a kiss and then jumps off the couch to give Dominick one too.

Dominick lifts him into his arms and hugs him tightly. “I love you, buddy. Keep a good eye on your aunt and make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble.”

Dominick smirks at his sister, who rolls her eyes.

“C’mon, Damien.” She reaches out to take him from Dominick. “Let’s go make a snack for our movie.”

“Cookies?” Damien asks, his eyes twinkling in excitement.
