“Be quiet,” he huffs. “Can I give you a hug?”

The question is so precious. I can’t deny him. So, instead of answering with words, I just wrap my arms around his toned waist.

Without hesitation, his arms band around me. I try not to focus on it, but I can definitely feel his impressive build even through his clothes.

I take a moment to just breathe and rest the side of my head against his chest. The crisp air fills my lungs as I gaze at the gorgeous Rocky Mountains surrounding this small town I now call home.

His arms fall away from me as he steps back, and I find I’m not too thrilled about it.

“Have a good rest of your day,” he tells me quietly. “I know I will, thinking about you.”

So smooth, ladies’ man.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

Tucker

It took two days,but we finally found that sneaky little cat. She was curled up under Grayson’s bed in his private room.

She refused to go into the crate Sienna left behind, so all of us have just been passing her back and forth as we go about our business.

I pull out my phone to fill Sienna in on the development.

Me >> We found Salem.

Sunshine >> Where was she?

Me >> Under Grayson’s bed

Sunshine >> Hmm… want me to come get her?

Me >> They’d never admit it, but I think all these guys will freak out if you take her back.

Me >> They’ve claimed her.

Sunshine >> And by them you mean YOU.

Sunshine >> YOU’LL freak out if she leaves and YOU’VE claimed her.

Busted.

Not that the other guys haven’t grown attached to her, but she’s spot on about me.

Me >> Maybe

Sunshine >> Do you guys really want to make the firehouse her forever home?

I run my hand through the hair at the base of my skull. I’d guess I hadn’t really thought about it in that way, but yeah, that’s exactly what I want.

Me >> I have to trick Grayson into letting it happen.

Sunshine >> Good luck with that.

At that very moment, Grayson walks into the living area. His attention is focused on the pieces of mail he’s prying open.

“Hey, Cap. You got a minute?”

He jerks his head toward his office, so I follow along behind him.
