“What?”

He smiles behind his glass. “Just thinking.”

“About?”

He looks down, then back up to my eyes. “Stuff.”

I shake my head, but a smile escapes. “You’re ridiculous.”

He leans in closer. “If you didn’t want me to think bad thoughts, you wouldn’t have worn that dress.”

I can’t help but shiver as his words run through me. “Should I apologize?”

He shakes his head as he backs away. “Never.”

“Ladies. Gentleman. I think it’s time we hit the tables,” Knox says. “Who’s with me?”

“Let’s go!” Hazel says. Oliver doesn’t answer. Instead he gives me a wink as he helps me off my barstool.

The four of us start walking toward the casino, but Hazel suddenly grabs my hand, pulling me back behind the guys.

“What was that!” she whisper-yells.

“What was what?”

“You two eye fucking each other during dinner. And at the bar. I thought you two were just friends?”

“We are,” I say. “Things have just got a little…”

“Have you slept with him again?”

I shake my head. “No. But the room only has one bed.”

“What!” she yells. Knox and Oliver both turn around and look at us. I wave them back around before answering. “How are you just telling me this?”

“I didn’t want you making a big deal out of it. Because I know you’re Team Oliver.”

“I would not do anything of the sort. And how do you know that?”

I shoot her a look. “You would and you did. I know you helped him with all those gifts and deliveries.”

“Fine. I helped. Guilty as charged,” she says with a huff. “So there’s one bed. And you’re both…just sleeping in it?”

“Yes,” I say firmly. “Though there was a…momenttonight.”

“A moment! What kind of moment?”

“I don’t know. A moment,” I say.

“Like a ‘you wanted him to kiss you’ moment? Or a ‘we’re not making it to dinner because we never made it out of the room’ moment?”

“The second one,” I admit. “Definitely the second one.”

“Damn,” Hazel says.

“Exactly.”

The guys head toward one of the craps tables, but the two of us hang behind.
