“Probably with that nigga.”
“Oh. She not with you?”
“Nah. Just me and the ol’ girl.”
“Aight. I’ll hit you when I touch down in the city, so we can make some plays. You gotta introduce me to this sister of yours.” I smirked, but it didn’t reach my eyes. He had no idea.
Ronnie already told me about Stormi and Seth. Told me Stormi was Seth’s weakness the soft spot in all that fake alpha energy. Seth might act untouchable in the streets, but he had a soft spots. Stormi, S3, and Serena.
Noah didn’t know I already had the blueprint. Now it was my turn to move the pieces. To play the game Ronnie never finished. To make Seth feel every ounce of the loss he handed me. And this time, I’d make it personal. Real personal. Let’s see how loud a king can scream when you touch what he loves.
CHAPTER 15
Stormi
I wokeup in Seth’s bed… alone.
Sheets still warm, but empty. He hadn’t come back, or if he did, he left before I opened my eyes. I laid there for a second, staring at the ceiling, trying to slow the spinning in my chest. Then I grabbed my phone and sent a text.
Good morning. Wya?
No typing bubble. No read receipt. I sighed and dragged myself to the bathroom. Showering felt like the only thing I could control right now. Seth’s shower was a damn experience big enough to fit four people, with water hitting from every direction. I stood there like one of those rotisserie chickens at the grocery store, letting the water beat into my shoulders, trying to wash off everything from yesterday.
Lia’s body. Ronnie’s face. Rich’s heartbreak It was all still on me. Still in me.
I was glad I grabbed my things from Rj’s house when I did. Being able to wash my hair and exfoliate my skin, it gave me some small sense of normalcy. But even under the hot water, Istill felt cold. Just as I stepped out, my phone rang. I ran to it, heart doing too much.
Was it Seth?
Nope. R.J.
“Hey,” I answered, still catching my breath.
“Good morning to you too.”
“Sorry, R.J. I thought you were Seth.”
“You not with him?”
“I’m at his house.”
“So where he at?”
“Long story.”
“I’m off today…”
“I can’t really talk about it over the phone,” I said quietly, towel clutched around me.
“Stormi, the feds not listening to your calls.”
“Seth found out Ronnie killed his dad. Then he killed Lia. Rich’s girl. All that happened yesterday.”
Silence.
“…What?”
“Yeah. Rich walked in with her body like… like he didn’t even know where else to go. Then him and Seth left last night, and I haven’t seen them since.”
