I ignore Romulus, instead watching the way our fingers are biting into Sarah's hips as he holds her in place, her chest pressed into the tiled wall, her back arched. He pounds into her hard, her ass cheeks jiggling with each thrust. He's already eaten her from the back, tasted our sweet mate on his tongue as she cried out his name, and now he's chasing that same relief for us. We have a toy to snap around our knot, but it's still in the nightstand. This whole shower ordeal was impromptu after Sarah stripped in front of me as though it wasn't going to lead to Romulus taking over.
With one way too loud growl, Romulus presses hard into Sarah, our knot kissing her entrance as we pump her full of our seed. He wraps a hand around our knot, squeezing it hard and prolonging our orgasm. Sarah cries out, finding her second one of the day as Romulus plasters her body against the tile, barely giving her the space to breathe, but she loves it. Oh, how our little beta loves feeling the weight of her alpha on her.
"Okay, I need to shower for real now, or we're going to be late," Sarah says, winding a hand between us until she's swatting at our face to get us to back off.
"Feral little thing," Romulus grumbles when she swipes our nose. He nips at her fingertips before grabbing a towel and hopping out of the shower. "I'll get dressed and make sure everything is looking good downstairs. Don't rush. We won't start until you get there."
She's going to rush because you couldn't keep it in your pants.
Worth it.
Romulus gives me control of our body while he's in the middle of drying us off because he's already bored of having to do anything that isn't sliding inside our beta. By the time I get dressed and tie my hair back, Sarah's out of the shower, and her blowdryer is on. I stop in her room for just a second to press a kiss against her lips and tell her I'm downstairs.
"I love you," she calls out as I open the front door. I purr in appreciation, her laughter from the bedroom telling me she hears it and knows what her words would do to me.
"I love you, too," I respond, chuckling as I close and lock the door behind me.
We've gotten better about locking everything now that we know our beta worries about that kind of thing. Sure, she has two alphas with beasts living within seconds of being in her apartment, but it makes her feel safe, so that's what we do.
Her paperwork is in for fostering, and we've requested approval from the landlord to construct a little wall to connect our front doors so we can have one oddly shaped apartment. If it goes through, Sarah and I won't have to sleep apart every night. Not that we do that now. She's in my bed most of the time, leaving her apartment to sit empty for the night, but this will make it a done deal.
Since she's a beta and mated to someone already approved, her paperwork should go through much faster than mine. It's been a week since Jace moved in with me, and she's already done her interviews and has had someone out to do a home inspection. It took me a month to even get someone to message me back. But that's all in the past, and soon, I'll be living with my beta.
Jace will be with us until he turns eighteen. After that, if he wants to stay with us while he figures out what he wants to do with his life, he can do that. He's already started lessons with Lucas, but just like I thought, he's not showing the aptitude for it. But he enjoys being around Lucas, and my brother needs someone to keep him company, so I'll let them figure it out.
"It's kind of crazy how thin the ceiling is," Gabe tells me as soon as I step into the coffee shop.
I take a deep breath and ignore his ribbing because I highly doubt anyone heard Romulus growl when he came or our sweetlittle beta crying out his name. Gabe just likes starting shit because he knows Romulus is happier to sit on the sidelines for now.
"Oh, this is so exciting," Hazel says, running over to me, shooting Gabe an unimpressed scowl that reminds me to talk to him and Lucas about whatever happened between them, but today isn't about that. It can wait until tomorrow. I'll add a note in my phone, except when I reach for it in my pocket, it's not there, which means I probably left it upstairs.
"Is Sarah nervous?" Hazel asks.
"She's more excited to be working again. The last few weeks have been hard for her," I tell Hazel, pulling my glasses off to wipe away a smudge that somehow managed to get there since I wiped them off right after the shower. "Plus, now she'll never be away from me, and who doesn't want that?"
Hazel laughs, "Alphas are always so humble."
"Damn, this place looks nice!" Sam says as he walks into the building.
Gabe and his crew did a fantastic job with the demolition and making the two spaces look like they were always meant to be one. The paint job is obviously not professionally done, but there were no areas where we stained the hardwood floors, so I call it a win. Plus, the alphas who helped are all very proud of their work.
"Where's Sarah?" Janie asks, holding Sam's arm as he joins the small group waiting for the grand opening.
Technically, it doesn't start for another hour. We'll be hosting free tastings of specialty coffees that Sarah had imported, and we'll have tasting trays of the sweets that some of the guys and I spent the last couple of days sweating our asses off in the kitchen making. Hopefully, plenty of people will show up so Sarah doesn't feel like this is all a complete failure.
As strong as she is, and as much as she doesn't want us to know that she worries about it, she does. She's been independentand on her own, of her own volition, since she left her parents' home to go to college. She wanted to prove she could take care of herself since she has two older, overprotective brothers, and she's done that. But that doesn't mean she doesn't worry. Which means Romulus and I also worry, and if no one shows up to this, we're going to go growl at some people on the street corner until either they start going to the grand reopening or we get arrested.
"Oh, here she comes," Hazel says, grabbing Lucas's arm, which he looks at and huffs about.
My brother's a smart guy and puts two and two together that she's using him to get back at Gabe, which makes me wonder if the story he told us was true about some beast getting up in his face and telling him to leave her alone because she was already taken. But before I think too much about that, Sarah's coming inside, looking as beautiful as ever.
"You guys didn't have to come so early," she says, looking around the coffee shop and at the various family, friends, and younger alphas who've all come to show their support.
"Oh, we definitely did." Gabe snorts as he looks at me.
Romulus flicks to life in my eyes, telling our cousin that we're willing to make an exception about not liking fighting if he says a single thing about us calling every person here multiple times to make sure they all showed up early so that the building looked like it was having a successful reopening, with or without other people showing up. We've done plenty of posting on social media. Sam did an interview for a local magazine about the bakery opening. Everything should be fine, but just in case, yes, I asked everyone to be here. I also told them they could leave when it started looking busy.
"Okay, well, I need to get started on some coffee. Henry, will you and Jace make sure the desserts are all in the right spots?"
