Extending my hand toward her, I keep my smile bright and cheery. “I’m Aiden Daniels, co-owner of Exalta Solutions. Sorry I couldn’t join Kaleb in your interview, but I must say, your resume was exceptional. I’m excited to see you in action.”

“O-oh, Mr. Daniels. It’s nice to meet you,” she finally squeaks out. Her cheeks turn a stunning shade of red, and as she bites her lip, all I want to do is take it into my mouth, just like I did at the club.

I don’t, of course. Even though it causes me physical pain, I keep things professional.

Kaleb comes out of the office then, pretending to be oblivious to the very noticeable discomfort on Liliana’s face. “Good! You’ve both met.”

“Only now. For the first time,” she replies, and it takes every ounce of willpower not to burst out laughing. But it gives me another clue as to what this woman is like. Clearly, she’s a terrible liar.

Kaleb gives her a quizzical glance but continues. “Admittedly, Aiden is stricter than I am, so it’s completely understandable if you think I’m the best.” The smile he graces her with is pure charm, and her discomfort eases a little.

Fucker.

“I’m about to head into another meeting. Were you able to procure that contract?” He directs his last question to me, and I nod.

“Just arrived this morning. I’ve emailed it to you. Don’t let them give you any shit, yeah?”

He laughs and turns back toward his office. “Enjoy the tour, Lily.”

A moment of silence passes after Kaleb leaves and her unease returns.

“Are you ready?”

Liliana

He can’t be serious right now. My new boss, who also happens to be one of the men who tilted my entire world on its axis mere days ago, wants to take me on a tour of his building. Alone. Could things get any more awkward?

Shit. Okay, I guess they could. At least Kaleb wasn’t tagging along, or Sharon, the nice woman from HR. They’d have to be blind and deaf not to notice how unbelievably flustered I am. Thank God I only had a light lunch.

“Oh, you don’t have to take me on a tour. I’m sure you’re very busy.” I try to smile, though I’m sure it appears more like a grimace.

“I am, but this is part of my job. Come on, let’s get started.”

Maybe I could fake being sick? Pull the fire alarm? Trip and fall down a flight of stairs even. Anything to get me out of spending time alone with this man. Did he even remember, or was I already a distant memory?

After another moment of silence hoping he’d drop it and leave, he still stands there with a smile on his face as if he didn’t fuck me senseless two days ago. The more I watch him, the moreI think that maybe he does remember. Maybe the memories flashing through my mind are similar to the ones going through his, and that’s why he wants to take me on this tour.

Embarrassment hits me like a bat, scorching my face further as his smile grows. Fuck. I’m so not prepared for this. Calantha is going to have a field day when I get home.

“If you’re sure,” I say finally, standing and smoothing down my unwrinkled clothes for something to do.

“Perfect. Very practical not to wear heels, Liliana. We’ll take the stairs down to each floor instead of the elevator. That way we have more time to discuss any questions you might have.”

My office phone rings as we walk down the hall, and I almost run back to answer it — though not quite running and screaming like I envision in my head. Aiden, or as I’ll call him to his face, Mr. Daniels, sees the temptation in my eyes though and reassures me that the call can go to voicemail.

He introduces me to the other staff on our level before we start our descent. We make our way through each floor, starting with HR, then onto accounting and IT, until I’m trying so hard to remember the names of everyone I’ve just met that I don’t have a second to think about who Aiden is.

Well, shit. At least I hadn’t thought about it until now. He hasn’t made a move to touch me or bring up Club Rapture, so that’s something at least. Despite the many distractions, I can’t help but notice how my body buzzes beneath his gaze. My pussy practically chomps at the bit to get another night with his talented fingers and tongue.

“We’re going to skip the rest and head straight to the main floor. The ones we’re skipping are our medical labs or treatment facilities. If you’d like to visit them in the future, we can arrange it.”

“I would, actually, thank you.”

Our steps echo throughout the stairwell as we head toward our destination. The silence breaks as we enter the lobby, and the sound of ringing phones and answering receptionists fills the space.

When I showed up here this morning, I thought this floor was strictly a lobby with maybe a warehouse or loading dock behind it. Aiden takes me towards a set of doors past the reception desk and scans his key card.

He catches me eying his card. “There should be one of these on your desk when we get back. You’ll need it to enter each floor, though you won’t have access to all, as a precaution.”
