‘I mean, their job is amazing, and I bet they love being elves here on Christmas Day, the atmosphere is probably so fun, but after we were all awake for ages in the night, I would not have wanted to be out of the house by nine, greeting guests.’
Of course. Josh wouldn’t be around all day. ‘Yeah,’ I agreed.
‘Nice lipstick,’ she said, smiling at me. ‘What are you working today?’
‘Snowmobile Safari.’ I grimaced, unable to keep the trepidation from my voice.
‘You don’t like those? They’re one of my favourites.’
‘It’s more that the snowmobiles don’t like me. I’ve yet to take a trip out on them that’s gone one hundred per cent smoothly.’
Angelique looked at her watch. ‘Oops, better run, I’m on reindeer. Hey, maybe your Christmas gift this year will be that perfect, smooth, run.’
