“Happy writing,” she replied, turning toward her room as he turned toward his.

An hour later, Georgia was sitting in bed, strummingher guitar. She was looking at the lyrics to a song scribbled in her notebook when, without thought, she started strumming the music to “Moon River” and began singing. Just as she finished the song, there was a light knock on the door.

She put her guitar down and went and opened the door to find Roo standing there.

“Hi, my huckleberry friend,” he said sweetly.

“Hi,” she said softly. “You heard me?”

“I came to see you and heard you playing. I couldn’t help but to stand and listen. You have a lovely voice.”

“Why did you come to see me?” she asked, staring into his eyes.

“Because I’m absolutely mad for you. Can’t get more than two sentences down because you’re all I can think about. If you feel the same . . .”

She took his hand and led him into her room, and he tapped the door shut.

He put his hand on her cheek, leaned forward, and kissed her softly. “My God,” he whispered, “I’ve never felt anything like that.”

He wove his fingers into her hair, and they began kissing passionately. Eventually, he pulled back and muttered, “Georgia, I want you so badly, but I don’t want to screw this up by moving too fast, if you . . .”

“I want you too,” she said, and she slipped her sundress over her head, standing before him in only a white thong, her wild spiral curls flowing freely.

“My God, you’re so beautiful,” he said as he began caressing the sides of her body. He started kissing her neck and slowly worked his way down to her breasts, gently licking her nipples as she moaned with delight. Roo continued planting kisses down her stomach, slowly pulled her underwear off, and put his mouth on her.

“Oh, Roo,” she squealed. She touched his shoulders and he rose and pulled off his own clothes. “Take me,” she whispered, and she guided him to the bed, lay down on her back, and he crawled on top of her. “You’re spectacular,” he said, and he slid inside of her, moving slowly, letting out moans of pleasure. “More, more,” she whispered, grabbing his firm glutes as he began pounding into her before they both let out thunderous groans.

He lay beside her, stroking her cheek and kissing her tenderly, his body shaking. “That was mind-blowing. I’ve never felt anything like it. You’re extraordinary and I’m absolutely bonkers mad for you.”

She caressed the side of his face and pulled him up to the pillows, and they crawled under the blanket.

He stroked her cheek again and said, “I mean it. I’m crazy for you.”

“I’m crazy for you too.”

He kissed the tip of her nose, wrapped his arms around her, and said, “Let me snuggle you and we can take a little rest. I just want to hold you close to me.”

They shut their eyes and fell asleep.

Two hours later, Georgia opened her eyes, still snug in Roo’s arms. She turned toward him and he whispered, “Hello, darling.”

“Hi.”

“I’m so glad it wasn’t a dream. Would have been the best dream of my life, but this is so much better.”

She smiled. “I’m going to brush my teeth. I’ll be right back.”

“Promise?” he said.

“I promise,” she said as she slipped out of bed.

“Just don’t get dressed. You’re too gorgeous for clothing.”

She giggled and swayed her hips with exaggeration.

“Oh, you’re killing me. You better hurry,” he called.

When she returned, she said, “There’s an extra toothbrush in the top drawer.”
