“Me either.”
“I love you so much, Ella,” he said. “I always will. You’re the one I’ve waited for my whole life.”
She ran her fingers across his broad chest, leaned forward, and gently pressed her lips to his. Turning around, her back to his chest, she snuggled against his body. “Don’t ever go,” she whispered. He enveloped her in his arms, and they closed their eyes and fell asleep.
CHAPTER 9
Ella opened her eyes. She was still curled up against Finn, his arm slung over her body. She gently touched his hand to wake him. “Good morning, baby,” he whispered, kissing the back of her head. She rolled to face him, pressing her body against his, their arms wrapped around each other.
“Good morning,” she whispered.
“This feels so good. Did you sleep well?”
“Never better,” she said, nuzzling closer.
“Me too,” he agreed, kissing her forehead. “I could stay like this forever, with you in my arms. Being with you is the only thing I want. Nothing has ever felt more right.”
She squeezed him. “I feel the same way.” A few minutes passed and she said, “I’m going to run to the bathroom to brush my teeth.”
“Promise you’ll come right back.”
“Promise,” she assured him, slipping out of bed. She rifled around in one of her drawers and pulled out an oversized white T-shirt.
“Don’t cover that beautiful work of art with clothing,” he said.
She giggled. “Now you have something to take off when I get back.” She blew him a kiss and darted into thebathroom. When she returned, she said, “There’s an extra toothbrush in the top drawer.”
He grazed her hand as he passed. “Thanks.”
“You are the sexiest man I’ve ever seen,” she observed, staring at his sculpted, naked body.
He smiled. “Hold that thought.”
A few minutes later, he crawled back into bed. “Come here,” he said, pulling her on top of him. He ran his hands down her arms and then pulled her T-shirt over her head. He swept her hair away from her neck and started nibbling on her earlobe. Her body trembled as he worked his way down her neck and then up to her mouth. They kissed passionately, running their fingers through each other’s hair as they started making love. “Oh my God,” Finn groaned as he held Ella’s hips and thrust against her until they both let out sounds of bliss.
He enfolded her in his arms, panting as his breathing slowed. “I love you, Ella,” he whispered.
She looked into his eyes and said, “I love you too. I love you so much.”
They sealed their declarations of love with a soft kiss. “You’ve made me so happy. Tell me you’re mine, baby,” he said.
“I’m yours,” she whispered. She sat beside him, and they propped themselves up against the stacked pillows. “Would you please pass me a cigarette?” she asked, gesturing to the pack on the nightstand. He gave her a cigarette and lit it, before lighting one for himself.
He glanced around and said with a chuckle, “Jean wasn’t kidding. He really did give you the nicest room. It’s way better than mine, and I’m one of the stars of the film.”
She laughed. “Well, he’s paying you. He had to incentivize me to come here.”
“Let’s stay here today, together, just the two of us. We can get room service sent up.”
“I was thinking the same thing. That sounds like my idea of a perfect day.”
They spent the day talking, eating room service, and making love twice more. As dinner time was approaching, Finn asked, “Do you think we should make ourselves presentable and join the others?”
“As long as you promise to come back here with me tonight.”
He kissed her softly and said, “Sweetheart, you won’t be able to get rid of me. Besides, you got the nicer room, so I’m planning on moving in.”
She giggled. “Go grab some clothes from your room, then come shower with me.”
