We get out of the car, and I grab the bag from the trunk. I look up at the house that sits at the top of the steep driveway. It’s a mountain-style house with a light exterior. The driveway is heated, so the snow has melted off. The air has a chill to it.

We climb up the driveway and knock at the front door. We are doing a drop to Max. He is an acquaintance from school. He has a bad pill problem, but that’s none of my concern. My job is to deliver.

The door swings open, and the smell of marijuana filters out of the warm home.

“What’s up, man, join the party,” Max greets.

I study his face, hesitating before stepping into the foyer. He’s fucked up. Not just a little fucked up— extremely fucked up.

Max walks further into the house, and we follow closely behind. He guides us into a living area where a handful of people are lingering. Needles are out on the table, and smoke clouds the room.

“I’ll get you a drink,” Max calls out, but before I can stop him, he exits the room.

I look around, taking in my surroundings, holding my bag at my side. A hand taps me on the shoulder.

I look behind me to find a shorter woman with long blonde hair looking up at me. No… Not looking up. Her blue eyes are mesmerizing, luring me into her.

“Can I help you?” I ask arrogantly.

She wets her lips and her bare chest rises and falls. Her thin tank top leaves little to the imagination. She places her hand on my chest, and I freeze. What the fuck is she doing?

Her hand travels down my stomach, and she lightly glides her hand over my growing cock. Fuck, she is hot.

Her lips part when she feels me thickening beneath my jeans. Dante clears his throat behind us, and she quickly snaps her hand away.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Max directs his anger towards the blonde in front of me.

“Um… nothing.” She casts her glance towards the floor between them.

“That sure as fuck didn’t look like nothing. You fucking whore!”

Dante clenches his jaw, giving me eyes I know too well. The drugs are making Max extremely paranoid.

“You think you can cheat on me?” He questions as his voice cracks. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a gun. FUCK.

He holds up the gun, aiming it at the goddess of a woman.

“N-no…” Her voice is quiet. Her body is as still as a sculpture.

“Put the gun down, Max,” I say calmly.

“Shut the fuck up, Lucien. Astra, don’t fucking lie to me!” His face is red, and his veins are nearly bursting from his neck.

She stays in place. She’s not fucking scared. Her name is Astra. She is silent.

“NO ONE LIES TO ME!” He shouts, before the pop of a gun rings around us, as I jump in front of her. Pain explodes in my shoulder. FUCK.

I hit the ground, and Dante rushes Max, disarming him completely.

I roll onto my back, putting pressure on the wound with my opposite hand. The blood spills out effortlessly.

Dante beats in Max’s skull next to me, and Astra comes to kneel by my side.

“I-I’m so sorry,” she cries.

“I-I didn’t think he would shoot. He never does…”

Her admission makes my blood boil. He’s been threatening her. I don’t even fucking know her, but I can tell you that she is a fighter. Someone who doesn’t back down. I fucking love that.
