She was a creature driven by need and instinct.
And instinct dug her heels into his back and opened her knees so he could reach deeper inside her.
Every thrust and twist of his fingers lifted her up, helped her climb higher and higher.
“Gibson…” she ended his name with a hitch of breath and the beginning of a keening cry, “wait.”
“Do you want me to stop?”
She shook her head. She had no idea why she'd even said that. The last thing she wanted him to do was stop.
Her thoughts and her feelings were all twisted around inside of her.
She freed her hands from the sheets and grasped onto his head, her fingers spearing through his hair. “God no!”
The deep laughter she heard the moment before his lips closed around her clit sent her over the edge.
And she fell.
Fell and soared at the same time.
If that was what Gibson could do with his mouth and fingers, holy hell.
What could he do with the rest of him?
Well, he showed her.
TWELVE
Kay heardthe phone on the nightstand ringing.
It was a hell of a way to wake up, but at least it did get her up. It was one of the musts when she was traveling. Away from her own bed she had the devil of a time getting up. Her usual alarm on her phone wasn’t enough to shake her out of slumber and yes, she’d missed a flight once.
And that once was enough to make her use the hotel’s wake-up call service to get her up on time. Crawling to the edge of the bed she picked up the handset and set it against her cheek. “’lo?”
“Good morning, Doctor Hata. This is your requested wake up call.”
“Thanks. I’m up.”
“All right, Doctor Hata. You have a wonderful day.”
“Thanks.” She set the handset back into its cradle and groaned. “I don’t want to get up.”
A warm wall curled up behind her and an arm wrapped around her middle.
Kay tensed for a second as her mind struggled to put the pieces together.
She looked down and saw the tanned and amazingly muscled forearm tucked against her middle.
Gibson Braun.
“I thought I was dreaming.”
She felt his laughter before she heard it. Even better than his laugh, she felt him place a kiss on her shoulder.
“No,” his words were soft and warm against her skin, “better than a dream, Kay. I got to hold you in my arms.”
She relaxed against him. “You did more than hold me, if I remember correctly.”
