The front dooropens and closes, Nix stepping into the apartment with a tray of coffees and a bag ofpastries as Lennon emerges from the bathroom. Steam coils in the air behind her as she pads toward the living room.

"Oh, I love you," she declares, face scrunching up with a pleased grin as she plucks a paper cup from the carrier.

"At least let me get some caffeine in my system before you start confessing your love," Nix chides.

"I was talking to the coffee," Lennon deadpans, cutting him a glare.

His lips curl up, the ball of his tongue ring snaking out as he trails it along the seam of his lips. But before he can fire off something snarky, my phone chimes on the table. I lean forward, the screen lighting up with a message.

"The remains of Englewood locals and business owners, Shawn and Natalie Hodges were discovered among the rubble of their home following a fire early Wednesday morning. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, it's what was found in the home that raises concern. Authorities say a safe containing multiple images of women being assaulted at varying levels of consciousness was found. While Mr. Hodges’ face wasn't in each picture, there were journals detailing the assaults, dating back five years. Englewood's police department will be working with a taskforce to identify these women and ensure they have access to the support they need."

I swipe out of the article, looking up to meet Lennnon'sgaze. She takes a long sip of her coffee before she says, "It's really over." Doubt and relief weaving through her features.

"It is, little killer," Nix says, slinging an arm around her shoulders and giving her a squeeze. "He can never hurt you again."

"No one can," I add with a wink. "Unless you ask us to."

EPILOGUE

LENNON

“Yes! Oh my god,” I cry out, fingers threading into Rhett’s shaggy blonde hair and holding him in place.

“That’s it, darlin’,” he growls against my core, teeth scraping across my clit as he works me closer to the precipice of pleasure. “Come on my face.”

Between his tongue lapping and thick digits pumping in tandem, and it all becomes too much. His fingers curl at the deepest point and I detonate. My back arches off the picnic table, heels dig into his shoulder blades as I careen over the edge into pure bliss.

My chest heaves as Rhett slowly withdraws his touch, and I collapse back against the wooden surface. He straightens to stand, deep blue eyes locking with mine as he presses a kiss to my mound. “I don’t know what's prettier,” he says, the gravelly tone of his voice making my pussy clench. “That sunset or the sight of your glistening cunt.”

A blush heats my skin and I fight back a smile as myhead lolls to the side. It really is a beautiful sunset. Burnt oranges and deep reds bleed together with streaks of purple as the sun sinks further beneath the horizon. But as I push up to my elbows, Rhett is still staring down at me, lust lacing his irises– and I know he chose the latter.

I reach down, pulling up my panties and leggings as his phone pings for the third time since we stopped off at this little park. He heaves a sigh, slipping his phone from his jeans as I scooch to the edge of the table and wrap my arms around his torso. When he said we needed to take a ride so he could show me something, I figured it had something to do with the investigation into Shawn and Natalie. But being eaten out on a bluff overlooking the river at sunset was a more than pleasant alternative.

“We gotta head back to the clubhouse,” he says, pocketing his phone. “Blaze night is almost ready to start.”

“Jeeze,” I huff, hopping down from the table. “How many bodies do you guys have to dispose of?”

“It varies,” he shrugs, lips tipping into that grin that makes my heart stutter and pussy clench. “More now that we’ve met you, though.”

“Sorry,” I wince as we walk towards the parking lot.

“Don’t be,” he says, slinging an arm around my shoulders. The heady scent of leather and spice fill my nostrils as he tucks me into his side. “No bodies to burn, just a good ole bonfire tonight.”

I hum in response and an easy silence settles around us as we draw closer to his Harley. He hikes up his jeans and swings a leg over, knocking back the kickstand as he twists the handlebars upright. I brace my palms on his shoulders as I take my spot behind him, his hands gripping my thighs and pulling me even closer. My arms snake beneath hiskutte, looping around his torso as he starts the bike. Gravel kicks up behind us as we roll forward and start back towards the clubhouse.

It’s been three days since we sent Shawn and Natalie off on their all inclusive trip to hell, and it still feels like a goddamn fever dream. The anxious dread that normally settles in and constricts my chest when I think about them has faded to nothing. Each day, I’ve been able to breathe easier knowing that I cut the head off the snake. I know this doesn’t absolve me of guilt and I’m still wanted by the authorities, but I’m done running.

I didn’t get a choice– not that I wanted one– when it came to moving into the clubhouse with Rhett and Nix. They offered to get us our own place, but honestly, I like staying at the clubhouse. As long as the other Devils don’t mind that I’m there, I actually kind of prefer it. I wouldn't want to be left alone while they were off on a job that I couldn’t tag along on, though. As much as I hated being at Briarwood, I got so used to communal living that I might actually go crazy if left on my own.

The bike jerks, Rhett muttering a curse as he swerves around the little silver hatchback that cut us off. He raises his middle finger at them as he starts to pass, then reaches down and twists the throttle. The engine roars and we rip past them in a blur, but Rhett doesn’t slow in the slightest. My stomach swoops, bike thrumming beneath me and I already know without looking that we’re pushing triple digits. For being the older, more level-headed one, I didn’t expect him to be an adrenaline junkie, but it’s kinda cute to discover his little quirks.
