"Yeah, a face only a mother could love." Carter got in the car and pulled his seatbelt on.
"So what do we need? A sporting goods store to get a good knife and a pharmacy?"
"Yep, unless you can think of anything else we need?"
"You're not going to need a torch, are you?" Xander asked as he pulled the car out of the lot.
"Nope, that's so they don't bleed to death. I want Lyle bleeding. Lots and lots of blood." Carter smiled.
"Wow, I never knew you had such a dark side."
"If someone killed Faith, what would you do?" Carter asked.
"Yeah, I know. I get it. I wanted to do the same to the man who raped her, but couldn't. At least you get to enjoy watching him suffer and die. I only got to make him suffer."
Carter remembered Faith's rescue as if it was yesterday. He was honestly shocked Xander didn't break the rules that night and kill the guy.
Xander turned up the radio as they hit the road. It was a perfect day out. No signs of rain, no wind. Nothing that would make what they had to do harder than it already was.
Determined to get this done as fast as they could, they headed for the stores, then a quick check-in at the motel they were staying at, and then it would be go time.
He wanted this over with. The sooner he was done, the sooner he could figure out exactly what he was going to do with the rest of his life.
