"You don't get lonely?" Carter set his drink on the nightstand between the beds and shifted so he was turned toward Archer.

"I find companionship where I can." Archer wasn't sure what to say. Sure, he got lonely, but he wasn't going to be all soft about it and act like it was a big deal.

"You're talking sex?"

Archer shrugged. "Mostly, but even that is rare. I haven't been with someone in over a year until what we did the other night. I hate the hook-ups, but sometimes you just need to get that release."

"Always men?" Carter asked.

"No, not always. Men or women. It doesn't really matter. I prefer men. It can get rougher, and honestly, men don't have the expectations women do. It can be just sex without all the emotion. As little sex as I have, it really doesn't matter."

Carter smiled. "Sounds like me. It's been forever it seems. I picked some guy up at the local computer store. I just don't take the time off until the need builds enough and I want a night with someone."

"I was nervous to do anything, I thought you were straight since you were married to Beth. You just looked too tempting not to try." Archer liked that he was comfortable enough to admit his nervousness.

"I'm glad you took the chance." Carter grinned. "As for being straight, I had been with both men and women before Beth, but I haven't been with another woman since her. I just can't bring myself to sleep with another woman. I don't know what kind of psychological shit that means, I'm sure there's something there, but who cares. I get what I need from men."

Archer understood how Carter wouldn't want to be with any women after losing his wife. It made perfect sense. With the way he'd lost his daughter and wife, it had to leave a lot of emotional baggage that would be hard to let go of. "It makes sense. I get why you'd do that." He rubbed his chin. "So, this thing with you and me. We can continue it while we work together?"

"Yeah, like I said the other morning. I'd like to do more. As long as it doesn't get in the way of tracking down Lyle. We might as well enjoy ourselves while we're together. I'm a top and only a top, if that's going to be an issue." Carter glanced over at him as if waiting to hear that wasn't going to work.

"That's fine with me. I go either way, but I honestly have no problem bottoming. It's not all about the penetration anyway. As we proved the other night, there are plenty of other ways to get off." He actually enjoyed it more when it wasn't actual sex. He loved watching a man come and he couldn't do that if they were inside him.

"So we sharing a bed?" Carter smiled.

"Dirty one, sleep in the other?" Archer raised a brow.

"That works." Carter got up and went for another slice of pizza. "I don't have condoms with me, do you?"

"Nope, the last thing I thought when I showed up at your place was that I'd be getting any action. I'll run down to the gift shop and get some. I'm not saying we have to do anything tonight, but it's probably good to have them around." He played with the cap on his soda bottle as he wondered if he was making a mistake exploring more with Carter. What they had done was amazing, and if other things were even more intense then he was going to crave it once they went their own ways. He wasn't stupid enough to believe that they'd ever see each other again once they finished the job they had to do. They both had their own lives to get back to.

"Sounds good. Grab some chocolate too when you go. I'm craving something sweet."

"I'm not sweet enough for you?" Archer teased as he swung his legs off the bed.

"You're hot and melt in my mouth, but I wouldn't call you sweet. You're more spice. Something that hits me with a jolt and makes me remember you hours after I've had a taste." Carter watched him. "Sweet isn't how I like my men."

"Good thing, because sweet isn't a word I'd ever use for the sex I enjoy." Archer's cock was already alert and ready for action. "Before we talk anymore and I'm unable to walk without letting everyone know what we're up to, I'm going to hit the gift shop. Condoms, lube, chocolate, you want anything else?"

"Grab some drinks or something. I plan on working up a thirst." Carter's gaze traveled over Archer's body, teasing and hungry.

"Done." Archer patted his pocket to make sure he had his wallet, then checked to make sure he had the room key. "See you in a few."

As he walked out of the room, he tried not to think about what the two of them might do together. He was already horny, and if he didn't force the visuals from his mind, he was never going to make it downstairs without embarrassing someone, most likely himself.
