“Perfect,” I say with a grin. I tug on her wrist until she collapses into my arms once more.

I’m not sure how long we’re wrapped up in each other, but my phone rings, breaking us apart. I groan while Camden giggles. I’ll never get tired of that sound.

I reach for my phone on the bedside table, ready to ignore the call and get back to my pleasant morning, but it’s Rock. I give Camden an apologetic look and hop out of bed before throwing on a pair of sweats.

“Prez,” I answer as I walk out into the living room. “Any updates?”

“We found the guy Camden met at Bottles & Bites. Jeremy Rosenberg. He has a rap sheet a mile long, and it didn’t take much to get his parole officer to call in a warrant for arrest.”

“Good riddance,” I grunt.

“One man down, a thousand more to go,” Rock grumbles. “Stitch and his lackeys will strike back once their broken bones heal.”

“And we’ll be ready when they do,” I vow. “I have more reason to annihilate them now more than ever. I promise, we won’t let those fuckers get away with the harm they’ve already caused.”

“Speaking of, how is our informant?”

“She’s not an informant, she’s my woman,” I growl.

“Officially?”

“Yeah.”

“So you’re going to bring her to The Black Crown and claim her, right?”

“Shit, I never thought I’d be one of those guys,” I tell him with a chuckle. “Claiming an old lady in front of his brothers. But it feels right. She’s already mine, now it’s time everyone else knows it, too.”

“I’ll be at the clubhouse all day. Stop by with your woman and we’ll have a toast,” Rock says. I know he’s happy for me, even if his voice is a bit cold. He might not want to admit it, but I can tell he’s lonely. Hell, a lot of my MC brothers are. I was, and I didn’t even realize it.

“See you soon.” I hang up and practically sprint back to my room like a kid on Christmas. I can’t wait to show Camden to my family and make her mine.

CAMDEN

After the intense morning Diego and I had, he wanted to take me to a few of his favorite spots around town. Good thing I have the weekend off from Tall Tales & Turned Pages so I can spend as much time with him as possible. So far, we’ve been out to Lake Willowmere and had lunch at Widow’s Peak Casino, which has a surprisingly delicious lunch buffet featuring some fancy kind of steak I can’t pronounce.

We’re heading toward The Black Crown now, though I reminded Diego I’ve already been there. He said it’s an important place for him and his MC, Savage Kings, and he wants me to see why it’s so special. I still don’t know much about club life, but I trust Diego.

He pulls into the now-familiar parking lot and helps me off of his bike, steadying me with a hand on my hip. I’m still getting used to riding a motorcycle and all the things it does to me.

“Fuck,” Diego grunts before pulling me in for a kiss. It’s fast and intense and over far too quickly.

He pulls away, and I follow him, wanting more. Diego grins and kisses my forehead, then takes my hand in his. I should be intimidated by walking into a bar full of giant, growly bikers, but with Diego next to me, I feel invincible.

We get inside, and Diego is greeted by Rock and Savior. The two men turn to me, and I wave like a dork. My cheeks burn with embarrassment, and I bury my face into the side of Diego’s arm, hoping to disappear completely.

“Hi again,” one of the guys says.

Diego nudges me and leans down to press a kiss on the top of my head. “It’s okay, sweetheart. You’re safe here. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about.” Once again, he knows just what I’m thinking and how to dismantle my fears.

I nod and look over at Rock and Savior again. They don’t seem mad or judgmental. Truthfully, they look uncomfortable, as if they’re the ones who don’t know how to speak. Taking a brief look around, I see there aren’t many women here, so maybe they really are out of their element.

“Thanks for your help,” Savior tells me.

“Thanks for not turning me into the cops,” I joke. The two men smirk while Diego growls.

“That would never happen.”
