Her brother.

Oh.
Oh.
Good to know I’m not the only one with one-word sentences.
Unknown
Do you have Sky’s number?
Yes.
What am I doing? Why am I texting her? I should be calling Sky to berate her for meddling when shejustcomplained about me trying to do the same thing.
Unknown
Caaaan you send it to me?
Unknown
She’s supposed to find me a hiking buddy for sometime this week and I wanted to check in before I go to bed.
Unknown
And she’s supposed to take me to the bar Tuesday for some town thing.
Of course Sky invited her to that. As much as she wants to isolate herself, she sure enjoys being at Frank’s with everyone else.
I imagine Avery sitting in one of the king beds in the inn, buried in the covers, staring at her phone screen. Her face softly lit in the darkness. Hair fanned out on the pillow behind her. Does she sleep in an oversized t-shirt? Just a tank top? Naked? NOPE. Not going there. Not letting my mind go there.
No.
No.The only word I know apparently. What am I doing? I should just give her Sky’s number, delete the message chain and leave it at that. Instead, my thumbs decide to save her number. I type ‘Avery’, but delete it instead. I think about the ribbon she was wearing the first time I saw her. White with white polka dots. I change her contact name and continue to text her.
Nice photo, by the way.
Sunshine
Wasn’t supposed to be for you.
Somethingabout the way I can tell she’s irritated with me brings a smug smile to my face. I liked irritating her. Why?
I saved it anyway.
Sunshine
DELETE IT NOW!
I chuckle.Now she’s really mad.
Don’t worry. I have it saved as my wallpaper now.
Sunshine
Oh, so you have some kind of foot fetish? Good to know.
