He looks surprised. “You’re their Law Officer for Ops. Bishop said you’re a IAS from the Air Force.”
“I’m moving to the new Club?”
Falcon laughs. “First, what’s an IAS?”
“International Affairs Specialist. I had two that worked with our team,” Jack says easily but isn’t finished. “JAG aren’t all the same like civilian lawyers. The ones we had advised us on what’s legal and what we needed to avoid, some help military that get accused of international crimes but IAS Elite stayed with CENTCOM SOG. They worked like Night Hawks with all elite.”
My old Pres, Falcon, understands with a nod.
Cort loves information. “CENTCOM had SAG and SOG. What’s the difference?”
“Both classified but one deeper. No body cam, less splash, operators aren’t known,” Falcon answers.
I nod. “I’m moving?” I try to get back to why I’m here.
“Yeah. Bishop has three trained for the Law Club. We’re looking to put one or two lawyers in every Ops Club. You fit with the international.” Cort answers as much as he asks.
“That makes sense. The app works when you understand the origination of laws.”
The hand Cort holds up stops me. “You move when the compound goes in and they have a room ready.”
Jones sits up. “Commander Vapor is leaving tonight for a job and the ex-JAG hasn’t sent his advisory report. I don’t think he’s versed in the elite Ops.”
“Get me the Op. My Club is closer to you than this one, I can read it here and meet you in your Op room or this one,” I tell him.
Cort’s eyes look like they’re flashing blue steel when he stands. “Get him the objective and who is going with what equipment and ammunition. Julius, get them the report and you’re in their room for their Op. Phoenix has their first Op. I may move that to Luke Rayne or the Alpha-Bit aerial Ops floor. They decided to come in before the job and need the legal covered. We’re not dropping the ball before the first job starts.”
“The Alpha-Bit aerial would fit better, Boss. Kristos sent me for this part. We can take the Op with Alpha-Bits. Asa said they have the Brothers, we have aerial Ops control and I need the work. Kristos took FBI and Seth has the Club towns.” Mase is a little crazy but he’s a good Brother and can do Ops, so control would be easy.
He throws me chin. I think he can read too which makes that better than good. He smiles but turns toward Cort.
“First is in Phoenix. You can shadow their control but it’s with Ranger, Jack and me on BSC control. Alder will get it to Luke Rayne in case of emergency.”
Mase nods. “Roger, Boss. I’ll get the time and show in their Ops room.” He turns and salutes Vapor. “I can fly and I’m VP of Honor Rising, the aerial Club. I’m a Blackhawk. We don’t do quit and have protected Badass since the day it was founded. You’re new here but to me and everyone here, you’re one of us. All you have to do to get that is live in our area. I won’t let you down, Commander.”
Vapor stood when he put his hand up to salute. She snaps it back and smiles. “You might want to explain the fire before the Op. Night Stalkers have seen just about everything. I used to say everything but changed that because of Mucimi and now you. I’m honored, VP Mase.”
He throws chin and disappears. I smile when Vapor looks around. Cort watches but doesn’t say anything.
Aylen stands. “I need to get going soon, I’m on-call in less than an hour. I have the therapists and some women that want to help with the kids. These are the women that were rescued from human trafficking. Mostly Indian but they’re ready for more than bakery work.”
Vapor nods. “We figured three live-in for the kids. Human trafficking isn’t an easy come back. Are they ready for interaction?”
Aylen’s eyes shine. “You will keep them safe and yes. I have five. Two can go with Aurora at Sentinel Rescue.”
Keylan stands. “Firefly told Drew about the women and Drew pledged time to the kids. She said the elderly are high maintenance and she needs to step back.” His smile has us all laughing.
I explain for Vapor and Jones. “They went to a psychic town and gave the scammers a hard time. There were some good readers but the scammers went a little crazy. One guy lit his house on fire and it caused a massive rescue operation on the inferno he started. The Rescue Club and Protectors had to put it out with freaky and Badass ingenuity.”
Her eyes bore into mine. “You’re serious.”
Everyone else at the table says I am.
“Maybe the kids shouldn’t be with those elders.” She’s a smart woman.
“The compounds are separate and the elders with a job mean they won’t be causing trouble. Bravo has some that want to join the Alpha-Bit circuit.”
Aylen raises her hand. “We have three for that circuit. Hannah said they have a group.”
