Seren stands and Cort is moving our way. “Relax?” Brinks is not relaxed. The guy doesn’t seem to notice.

I pull Harmony back and stand by Seren. “I’m just looking for some action. They’re all lookers, take whatever one you want.” This guy is going to end up bleeding tonight.

“Pres and Ranger’s ol’ ladies aren’t up for grabs,Dude,” Brinks repeats.

He must be drunk. The jerk leans closer to Brinks. “I’ve been known to turn heads. Women keep secrets and I don’t mind being one of them.”

“Shit,” Seren says.

The jerk points at Seren. “You’re standing there with your eyes on me. You’re interested, tell me I’m right.”

Seren puts that fake model smile on. “I’m pretty sure you don’t want me to be interested. I’m claimed and wear a property of patch.”

The jerk-off smiles like she’s agreeing with him. “Baby, I don’t mind borrowing. With a body like that, we can make it a few times and I’ll put you back on the shelf for your owner.”

Brinks swings, but the guy is gone. “Who the fuck let you in?” Cort yells and everyone stops and watches the guy’s body hit the wall and bounce to the floor. Ranger is standing by Cort and steps closer. “I want that fuck’s name! Any fucking Brother that doesn’t listen tomyol’ lady telling you she’s got my name on her can walk now. Security, get this dickass out and string him up on the flagpole. He’ll get to see what I’ve worked my ass off for and learn about who he thinks he canborrowanol’ lady from.”

“Roger, Boss.” Enforcers move in from the front.

He’s pissed when he looks at Seren. “I’ll make sure women’s heads turn at the sight of him.”

Seren smiles walking his way. “Buy me a drink before someone else sees that I’m thirsty.”

He lifts her up and her legs go around him. I smile at Harmony and reach for Ranger. “She’s got him. Harmony, that guy is not for you. Ranger, do you know of any decent men that aren’t dogs?”

He’s watching Cort so I turn his face toward me. “She calms him?” he asks and I melt a little inside. He’s worried about Cort.

“Yeah. Sit, we need some information and you’re the SAA at the moment.”

He sits. “Decent men?”

Harmony nods. “I have a daughter. I’m not looking for a husband tomorrow, but a decent guy isn’t easy to find.”

The new trainer sits. “Hey, Ranger, Harmony.” He turns to me. “You’re Freedom, we haven’t met, but I’ve seen you around, I’m Shultz.”

I nod then look at Harmony. I’m telling her no with my eyes. He’s got player written all over him. “Harmony isn’t a play here, Shultz, she’s got a kid and needs more than what the Club chicks ask for.”

Shultz stands. “I didn’t know you had a kid. I thought you were a regular like Victory and Chris.”

Ranger’s hand on my leg stops me from jumping in. “Chris is gone and Victory moved to California.”

Shultz nods. “Thanks, Ranger. Chris was a little off, but Victory seemed nice. She isn’t anything like the Brothers said she was. They had Chris pegged though.” He smiles.

Maybe Victory was like Falcon for Harmony. It can’t hurt to ask. “You know of Brothers that would fit?”

“There’s a big guy named Scraps and the new Flight Lead. They were talking about a bar that’s opening that has,” he puts his hands up and does quotation marks, “a higher selection.”

Ranger laughs. “Thanks, Shultz.” He looks at Harmony. “Jurigen is a good man, he’s the Flight Crew Lead. Scraps works in vehicle maintenance. He’s big is right, he’s Samoan and bigger than Cort. He likes kids and I’ve seen him help out and handle kids with issues. He’s gentle even though he doesn’t look it.”

“Point out Scraps.”I’m happy she didn’t say Jurigen because he has a better job.

Ranger stands up. “I’ll bring him over.”

Harmony smiles at me. “I really like Ranger, he’s easy with the Brothers. He watches out for Cort too.”

I nod. He is and does. “I did theYou Can Leave Your Hat Onroutine today. He loved it.”

She laughs. “Every straight man would. Teenage boys all find it so it’s familiar.”
