“No doubt; he’s my lil twin. He’s going to love you.” His kiss this time is even more passionate, loving, and appreciative.

“Tonight will be fine,” I assure him while trying to convince myself too. “Now, go get Fadez together. I’ll meet you out there.”

After licking his tongue across my lip piercing, he extends back to his full height then walks to his door. He stops then looks back at me.

“That key on the dresser is yours and the code is ten twenty-nine.”

“Ten twenty-nine?” I question with amusement. Dates and anniversaries are my thing, not his. There are a few dates in my life that mean everything to me and October twenty-ninth is high on my list.

“The day you first let me taste that sweet pussy,” he says, then winks.

“That was after you told me you loved me. You said it first,” I correct him. Technically, we are both right, but his I love you is why I cherish the date.

“Either way,” he says smugly before walking out.

While shaking my head and smiling, I reach over and grab my cell to text Teaira.

Me: Good morning. U up?

Bestie: Yes. I’ll be outside in five.

Me: 5? I need to shower.

Bestie: Shower at my place. I’m about to pull up.

Me: Ok.

Shit!

Hurriedly, I jump out of the bed and quickly straighten the sheets and comforter. I’ll get it together fully after the block party. I grab my clothes from the side of the bed and put on my bra, panties, and dress. After grabbing the key and elevator card from his dresser, I rush into the living room, snatch up my micro purse, and leave, entering the code when I do.

I run into Ma’s and grab the small bag I packed for today. I creep through the apartment, careful not to wake Katia and Junie, my foster sisters who stayed in Diamond Falls after the wedding because they both wanted to attend the block party. Ma and her new husband are still at The Drexel. I gifted them two nights for their honeymoon.

When I make it out to the front of the building, Teaira is waiting, parked by the curb. I walk over and slide into her passenger seat. I immediately notice she has on her dress from the reception.

“You look like last night,” I comment.

“’Cause I decided to be grown and fast last night.” She smirks before pulling off.

“With who? Details, bitch!”

“Makai.”

“Makai who? Not DP Makai! He’s younger than us.”

“Gurl. He is grown as hell. Alllllllllllllll man,” she says dramatically. “Besides, he’s only a few years younger than us, twenty-five and fine. And the dick.” She turns her head, purses her lips at me, then mouths a silent scream. “Whew! Let’s just say I don’t know how I’m going to walk around at this block party all day.”

“Was he at the reception?” I ask because I honestly don’t know. Between running around and making sure Ma had a perfect day and Cameron’s goofy ass showing up, I don’t know who was or wasn’t in the ballroom.

“Yes. He was with Nardo and Ace,” she says, referring to two of my foster brothers. “When you were packing up, he helped me take Ma’s presents to the suite. He was flirting and talking that shit and I was tipsy and horny.”

“You took him back to your place?”

“Hell nah. I was in the building with you at his place. He lives on two. That’s why I was downstairs so fast.”

“Slut,” I tease.

“Please. As if your ass wasn’t up and your face down last night. After Cameron’s dumb ass, I know Kassir had something to prove last night.”
