Izzy runs to Arrow, wrapping her arms around him, and I let out a deep, shaky breath.
“We’re free,'' I whisper into the quiet room.

ADDIE / ISABELLA
Six months later
I throw the Frisbee to Lily, and Madden grabs her around the waist and lifts her up. She raises her hands in the air and catches it with a huge grin.
“Yay, go, Lily,” I cheer for her. She giggles as Madden spins around and then falls gently into the sand. “Get him,” I call out to her, and she starts to tickle him and giggles more.
I run over through the sand and drop down to my knees beside them. Madden winks at me, and my insides warm. I think I will feel like this forever with him.
“Addie, you needs to get him too.” Lily’s big eyes peer up at me as her little fingers go to work on Madden’s chin. Somewhere we’ve found is actually a tickle spot for the big, scary guy.
“Let’s get him.”
He lets us, and the chuckle that comes from him always takes me by surprise. The way he is with Lily melts my heart, and I'll never get tired of watching them together.
“Hey, you three, it's almost dinner time. We’ve been waiting for you to come back.” Emilio sweeps Lily into his arms and swings her around his back until she is up on his shoulders. She grips his hair, and he smiles at Madden and me. “Enzo has cooked up a good meal for us tonight.”
I roll my eyes. It’s gonna be pasta. It’s the only thing he can cook. But I smile. He always cooks my favorite. Spaghetti all’Amatriciana.
Arrow goes by Enzo now. It’s his birth name...his father’s name.Arrowcame from my father. The name he gave him after he killed his parents for no reason other than he was a sick asshole. The name has taken a little bit of getting used to, but it’s been the same for me.
I love being Addie.
And here...I am.
In the bedroom, Emilio still calls me Izzy. But out in public, I’m Addie.
We all had to take on new identities when we left. We did leave a mess behind, after all, and needed to cover our tracks. Not all of us had to change. Keegan, Madden, and Lily didn’t need to worry. Their families won’t be looking for them. They were only a small crime family, and once Keegan’s father was gone, there was nothing left apart from his mother who we wont be seeing again unless she pulls herself together. Madden’s father never returned from his job, and we haven’t heard anything about his whereabouts. Keegan suspects he’s back in Ireland. He keeps track of it all. He makes great money with his hacking skills.
Only those with ties with the mafia needed to change...it’s the biggest threat against us. Not that I think they're looking. I have a feeling my brothers enjoy running New York.
Keegan thought the name fitting when he chose the last names on the fake IDs he got us all before we moved out here to sunny California.

Emilio changed his name to Leo...my Leo. The first boy I ever loved. He goes by Leo Renato now.
Same with Enzo. Everyone knew him as Lorenzo “Arrow” Messina. He’s now Enzo Bana.

Madden Ernine. His name might mean little dog… but he isn’t little. Not in my eyes.

And I’m Adeline Lotta. I love the name Keegan chose for me. He thought very hard about that and I love it. Because I’m afree woman.
Enzo’s the most infamous mafia member for killing Salvatore and Tony Romano. They don’t know his new identity but we do. My brothers are quite happy to run that kingdom, and my sister...I sent her cash, fake IDs and anything she needs to escape. But she's at Roxbury, living the life she deserves.
