“Oh, shit.Shit, help me, Lexi. Get it off.” I didn’t want Noah to know I snuck into his room, he would freak out. I threw the pig at Lexi, but she dodged it.
“Oh, hell no. I am not touching Noah’s things. How much did you touch?”
Oh shit, shit… So bad… more than bad. I looked to the closet door. I touched so many of his hoodies. Lexi started to laugh, then burst into a fit of giggles. This wasn’t a laughing matter, this was bad.I did so bad.
“Did you touch his clothes?” I swayed a little on my feet as I took a step towards her and shook my head.
“Noooooo… Maybe… yessss.”
Zara. She was here, she would help me…Oh no. She smiled at me and shook her head and laughed. This was bad. Looked really bad.
“Oh, Miss Ada. Have you been snooping in my son’s room?”
I was so embarrassed his mom caught me snooping. I felt dizzy and I needed to sit down on his bed. I came down faster than I meant to. I rolled, then bounced back to sitting like I was meant to do that.
“I’m so sorry, Z-Zara, I was just looking at the… ah. What?” Why was she looking at me?
“Lucky this is Noah’s room. I think he would have been very upset to find you had snooped in the wrong brother’s room. How did you know? Did you follow his scent?”
His scent? No, I followed the pig. I pointed to where it laid, all sad on the floor. Poor piggy, all alone and needing a hug.
“He brought this home over a week ago and has been sleeping with it every night… Oh wait, don’t tell him I said that. I assumed it must have belonged to you.”
Oh my god, she thought it was mine and that was why he was sleeping with it. I got up and stumbled over something I couldn’t see to pick up the poor piggy.
“Let’s get you some coffee, Ada. Did you want to bring the pig?” Zara offered. I looked down at it. It was Noah’s pig. I wanted it, but I wanted him to have it more, so I gave it a last hug and put it back where I found it.
Oh, man… Noah was gonna know I was in his room.
