“You’re bleeding, Ada.” Lexi jumped up and went over to the sink. Bleeding, but it wasn’t that bad. I looked down at my hand covered in blood, and not just a little bit. That was a lot of blood. Something wet touched the back of my head and I flinched at the pain. Lexi gave me a face that told me she didn’t mean to hurt me, she was just trying to help stop the bleeding. I knew that.

“I have a headache. It’s like a little army of soldiers marching in my head.” It was to the beat of my heart, which was racing, and not helping at all.

“Hold on, I’ll get help.”

I’d hold on… I didn’t feel well, I was dizzy, so sitting here was for the best. Mom and Dad didn’t need this today, we were going to get Destiny later from the airport. She was flying in today. It was Kiara’s wedding on Saturday and I was so excited to see my sister. It felt like forever since I saw her last.

I didn’t even get to tell Lexi about the kiss on the cheek with Noah. I think I needed a nap. Yeah, I’d just rest until she got back. The tiles were cold but that was okay.

It was only a little nap.

“I’m home.”Destiny burst into my room and startled me. I had been watchingTwilighton repeat since I got home from the hospital. I was fine, like I told Mom. I only needed a couple of butterfly stitches in the back of my head to hold the little cut together, and I was now wrapped with a bandage around my head like I was half a mummy.

Destiny’s face fell a little as she moved onto my bed and wrapped me in a warm hug. She didn’t let go as she laid her head on my shoulder. It was nice to have her back home again. I missed her more than I realized and was getting a little teary.

“Team Jacob,” she whispered to me. I laughed.

“Yeah, wolf all the way.” And she laughed as she sat back and looked down at me.

“Really? I thought you were all Edward.” I shook my head, but the pain reminded me to keep still and I groaned, holding onto the back of my head.

“Yeah, but now I think I like wolf shifters… they’re hot.” I smiled to myself, theywerehot.

I wished I could tell her what I knew about shifters and vampires. It made it hard not being able to tell her it was all real. She was my sister and I know she would be cool with it all. She wouldn’t freak out. Maybe I could not tell her but do like Jacob does, trying to tell Bella he was a wolf. Or is that not allowed either? Well, it wouldn’t be allowed, but if she guessed it then I wouldn’t have told her. Maybe I should ask Kiara how she does it, not slipping up and stuff.

“So, how was the dinner last night with the birthday boy?” I smiled. This was exactly what I was waiting for from her. She was so excited for me and kept calling it a date when it wasn’t. I hadn’t spoken to Lexi about it yet either, but she had messaged me earlier on the way home from the hospital. Actually, my phone was in my bag still. I accidentally left it in the living room. I heard it going off a bunch of times while I was home alone, but it hurt too much to go get it.

“Dinner was amazing. Noah, he’s so funny and sweet. He opened the car doors and… his whole family is, like, amazing.” I sighed and Destiny did too.

“That’s it? Nothing else happened?”

I held my hand over my mouth to stop the silly grin, but she pulled it down. “It did, what happened? Did he kiss you? Tell me.”

I giggled, which had her bouncing and my head didn’t like it, but the pain was worth the excitement of telling her.

“Well, he walked me to the door, and told me how sweet and caring I was, and a bunch of other really nice words that just made me want to melt into a puddle. They were the sweetest. And I kissed him on the cheek and that was all that happened.”

Her mouth was open and no words came out. I could see the wheels turning in her head.

“Okay, I like him already. He sounds like a dream boy. How can he be real?” I shrugged. I didn’t know but he was, and he was my dream boy. She chuckled. “He doesn’t have a brother, does he?” I laughed but it hurt, it still felt nice to laugh with her.

“Yeah, he does. Elijah Jones. He was a few years older than you, so not sure if you would know him?”

She sat up and looked at me. “Elijah Jones, that big guy from a few years back?” I smiled. She knew him. He was big and tall. He didn’t look like Noah exactly—I suspected they each had a different dad in that family, even Callum was slightly different than Noah. But Elijah had a darker complexion, brown eyes, and short brown hair. He was good looking, but he wasn’t someone I would go for normally. Hell, Noah wasn’t someone I would either. But I loved how he made me feel, and yeah… he was attractive. But he didn’t flaunt it like some would.

Destiny on the other hand… she looked like she was thinking about Elijah.

“He isn’t the same as Noah, he’s different.” I didn’t want her to get her hopes up that there was another like Noah. I had the only one. But he seemed nice and polite enough. I heard my phone go off again and Mom came into the room holding it.

“Here’s your phone, sweetheart. I think your friends have been worried.” She patted my hand as she handed me the phone.

“Thanks, Mom.” She turned to the TV and shook her head.

“You girls need to watch different movies. You’ve seen this too many times, put something else on.” We just laughed. Mom was a fan with us, but she didn’t watch the series like we did.

“How about we putFifty Shadeson, Mom? You wanna stay and watch that with us?”

Mom was excited when we told her it was fan fiction, but we didn’t tell her what it was about before she started watching it. As soon as we got to that red room she freaked out and turned it off.

I watched Mom’s cheeks pinken and she cleared her throat.

“No, I’m not watching that again.” We burst into a fit of giggles.
