Jamie shrugs, squinting in confusion. “Why wouldn't I be?”

“I don't know, it's small and a bit of a downgrade from your place.”

“Is it? I didn't notice. Just seems like a regular home to me, and it's actually very welcoming in here with lots of touches of you. Not to mention much cleaner than most of the frat houses I went to when I was in college.”

“When was that, when dinosaurs roamed the earth?” I say with a light chuckle.

His hand comes down on the outside of my thigh with a playful smack. “Careful now or I'll be going to eat a fancy meal all by myself.” He stands from the chair, smirking. “I have to go back to work so behave yourself.”

“Yes, Daddy. I'll be the best boy I can be while you're gone.”

He grimaces. “Yeah, that definitely does not do it for me. Not my kink.”

“We should find out what is. Maybe you can tie me up and have your way with me later.” I move my hand over his growing erection, knowing I must have said the right words.

“That definitely sounds promising, but please don't say things like that to me when I'm running late for my next class.”

I laugh and press a chaste kiss to his lips and he leaves one on each of my cheeks, followed by one more along the bridge of my nose. “I'll see you tonight, pequeña bailarina.”

“Yes, you will.” I walk him to the door and laugh as he rearranges himself in his pants.

I close the door and walk to the restroom to get properly ready for the day. I only have one class to attend, and I have a few things I need to get done today before our date. I also want to make sure I have everything set up accordingly for the surprise I have for after dinner.

Everything is in place after I make a few phone calls to some friends. I catch up on some reading in between running errands. Once I get the car I've been eyeing for a while now, these small trips will happen a lot faster, giving me more time in my day.

I've had my license for a while now but used my mom's car until I moved out of the house. I made sure to move somewhere close enough to walk to campus and my mom made sure I called to check in daily the first few months of living alone in another state. Even now she gets worried. She’s been occupied lately though with taking care of my grandpa and having to fly out to where he lives for a few weeks. Luckily, she’s retired.

As I step off the bus, my phone vibrates in my pocket and I pull it out, struggling at first to grip it with my thick gloves.

“Hello,” I say, answering the phone.

“Oh, thank God, you're there. I fucked up, Tay. Badly. Or maybe we both did. I'm not even sure how this happened but it shouldn't have.”

“Luca?”

“Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm sure you're busy with your own shit, but I'm having a bit of a freak out here. I didn't exactly wake up alone this morning.”

“What do you mean, did you go home with Ethan?”

“Not exactly. I um...shit...look I gotta go. I'll explain later, okay?”

“Wait, why not explain now? What's going on over there? Are you at least okay?”

The line goes quiet and that's when I realize I'm talking to myself.

“Seems like a pretty serious phone call there,” a deep voice says behind me, causing me to jump.

My pulse settles when Jamie comes into view. “Hey, is it that time already?”

“Almost, unless you aren't ready yet? Do you need some extra time?”

I shake my head and my eyes grow wide when my gaze lands on the red roses in his hand. “I'm all ready to go when you are. Are those for me?”

He nods, pulling me against him with the roses resting between us. “Yes, we can go put them in water before heading out.”

“I don't have anything to put them in. I use paper cups because I hate doing dishes.”

He chuckles. “I guess it's a good thing I enjoy doing dishes then.”
