Heaven is the only word that comes to mind. Slick, wet heaven.
I grunt as my hips jerk and my orgasm becomes inevitable. Urgently, I pump my fist over the top of my shaft. I cry out as pleasure explodes. Then I’m coming, purple liquid shooting from the tip to cover my hand and belly, leaving me shuddering and groaning, chest heaving with labored breaths.
Fuck.
I’m glad I did that. I hope it buys me enough time tonight to spend pleasing her. Come to think of it, maybe I should go again. If I come enough now, maybe I won’t even be able to later. My cock agrees. Not even fully soft, it begins to swell again in anticipation of round two.
The only thing that stops me is a knock on the door of the office. Shit!
I clean up hastily, wiping my hand and pulling up my jeans. “Coming! I mean hang on.”
When I answer the door a moment later, Tegan gives me a cheeky smile. “I’m just heading home, but I’ll see you later, yeah?”
“Yeah.” I’m breathless. I want to lean down to kiss her, but I don’t know if that would be welcome.
She turns and heads for the door, giving me a wave on her way out. I spend the evening with what feels like a hundred jellyfish floating in my belly, wondering if I’m playing this right.
God I hope so.
Even without seeing my tentacles glow for her, there could be no doubt that this woman is my fated mate. Everything in me pulses with need for her so that I can hardly sit still.
I guess I know now why Luke waited ten years and Noah traveled to the other side of the world.
There’s nothing I won’t do to make Tegan mine.
FOURTEEN
Tegan
“You look nice. Are you going out?” Mia lifts her head from the book she’s reading on the sofa as I try unsuccessfully to sneak past her in heels. In hindsight, that was a stupid choice. I’m only going up the road to the Inlet Views and there are maybe a handful of places around here that justify a nice pair of heels anyway, only I wanted to look good. I wanted to look amazing tonight. Because I’m absolutely determined to blow Jack’s mind.
“Ah yeah.”
Mia sits up and tosses aside the book. “Tegan, do you have a date?”
I shift uncomfortably. “Um, not so much a date as a… thing?”
Mia’s eyes narrow. “A thing?”
“Uh, yeah. Gotta go. Don’t wait up!”
“Oh my goodness! Details please!”
“Sorry. Running late,” I lie, rushing toward the door. I’ll have to come up with a cover story for when I get home. I can’t think about that right now, though. I’m too excited.
Luckily I’m used to walking in heels. The trip down the hill to Inlet Views isn’t far, and soon I’m pulling out my phone to message Jack.
Tegan: I’m here
Half a millisecond later the door flies open, and Jack is standing in front of me with his jaw practically on the floor. “Oh fuck. You dressed up.”
I reach up to fluff my hair, pleased that he noticed. I want to make this night amazing for him since he waited so long. And there’s a big—very vain—part of me preening that I’ll be the one he remembers for the rest of his life. Whatever I said about it being casual and having no strings attached, I still like that thought. I love the idea that every future encounter he has will be flavored with what we do tonight. With me. It’s a pretty big ego boost.
An ego boost I could really use right now to stop me caving and answering Mark’s call.
I need to stay strong. I need to stay on this path. I just need a little something to take the edge off, and if that something comes along with a big helping of good karma, then so much the better.
“Hi.” I lean forward, offering my cheek, and he leans in to kiss me. As he does, the fresh salty sea and masculine scent of him fills my senses for a moment, and I have to admit I’m a little tingly when he pulls away.
