“I have to go,” he said.

Jasmine could tell that his last statement was more to himself than to her in a bid to stop himself from touching her yet again.

ChapterFifteen

Axel had to muster all his self-control to stop himself from taking Jasmine there and then.

Seeing her standing there in the middle of the library, hair messy from their romp, he wanted, yet again, to pleasure her until her whole body shook from the tremor of the pleasure.

His manhood nodded in agreement to his thoughts, and he swore under his breath.

This rod will be the end of me.

He, however, could not do what his heart and body yearned for because right then, he had to put an end to something he should have ended a long time ago.

He headed for the room in the former drawing room that was now abandoned like he had done tons of times in the past. This time around, however, his mission was less pleasant, and he could only hope that she would be graceful about what he had to tell her.

The moment he stepped into the room, he was greeted by Dorothy’s usual boisterousness. Even before he could see her, she had already flung herself at him and hugged him.

“I have been looking forward to seeing you again,” she said happily. Axel felt a little pang in his chest as he realized his announcement would probably wipe the smile off her face.

It has to be done.

“You do not seem happy to see me,” she asked as she moved away from him. “What is the matter?”

Axel shrugged. “I am happy.”

“You have not even stepped away from the door since you came in,” she continued. Axel had not even realized this.

“Let us sit down,” he said, and Dorothy sat on the bed. Since there was no other furniture besides the bed, Axel had no choice but to sit in bed with Dorothy.

“I want to tell you that–” He had barely gotten these words out when Dorothy cut in.

“Oh! I remember now. Where is it?” she asked, smiling, with her hands outstretched at Axel as though expecting him to place something in her hand.

“What?” he asked, confused.

“You thought I would not find out?” she asked.

“Find out what?” he asked, his patience running out.

Had she found out about Jasmine and is playing around?

“What are you talking about, Dorothy?”

“The flowers,” she said, still smiling brightly.

“Flowers? What flower?” Axel’s eyes widened in realization.

“The flowers you bought at the market today,” she replied.

“How…how did you find out about that?” he asked.

Dorothy shrugged. “I am sorry that I ruined your surprise, but I had to run here when I was told,” she said.

“Surprise?” he pondered.

“The surprise flowers you planned on giving me,” she said. “I know it is no longer a surprise now that I have found out, but I do not mind.”
