“I wanted to kiss you more than anything.” My thumb stroked across her cheek. Her skin was so soft and smooth. “I just didn’t think I’d be able to stop with just one kiss.”

She regarded me for a long moment, while I studied her, wondering if I should just lean forward…just a little…and…

“Maybe…” she breathed, “that would have been okay.”

“Melody.” Her name was a harsh rasp and the only warning before my mouth crashed onto hers.

She made a small, startled sound but didn’t try to pull away. Doing the opposite, she pushed closer, so we were chest to chest. Her hand curled behind my neck holding on as we discovered each other’s mouths.

I’d thought we’d ease into things, slow and teasing, a brush of lips…a light nip of teeth. This first kiss was nothing like that. Instead, we clung to each other, devouring, demanding, as if we’d been starving. And maybe, I had been starved all my life while I’d waited for her. She quenched a thirst I hadn’t even known I had until I saw her yesterday. Had it only been yesterday?

One of my hands slid back into her long, thick hair. The soft strands were like silk against my fingers, and I briefly wondered what they would feel like splayed across my skin or tickling my chest while she rode me.

And just like that, my already hardening dick turned to steel. I dropped my other hand to the small of her back and pulled her into me. Melody released a sighing moan into my mouth while she wiggled closer.

“I knew you’d feel like the best Christmas present in the world,” I muttered against her mouth.

My tongue darted against hers. She tasted like cookies and spice, and I wanted to devour every sweet bit of her. I needed to slow down, I knew I did, but with just a touch, she’d lit a fire in me and a desire I knew wouldn’t be soon quenched.

“Caleb,” she whispered. “Yes…yes.”

I wasn’t sure what she was agreeing to, but I’d go with it. Almost unconsciously, I lifted her. Her legs went around my waist while I turned and pressed her back to the door. Her center pressed right against my fly and the rigid need there. I groaned quietly into her mouth as we rubbed together, though I was still somehow cognizant that people were way too close by. I didn’t want any of them to hear this, to hear Melody. That was just for me. No one else got to hear her pleasure. Ever.

Just like that, I fully acknowledged what I’d already known. Melody was mine. More than that, she was my entire future. I pulled away from her mouth and stared down into her silver-blue eyes, darkened with the same lust that had exploded through me.

“Stay,” I whispered. “Don’t go back. Stay with me.”

Her tongue swiped over her swollen bottom lip, proof to everyone about what we’d been doing. I didn’t care, and I knew they wouldn’t, either. A faint smile pulled at her mouth, but happiness lit her eyes. Her head tipped into a slight nod. “I want that, too. Yes. I want to stay.”

My mouth covered hers again. Relief infused me, and my desire for her ramped up even more.Mine.The word filtered through my thoughts in a possessive mantra I couldn’t deny.

I wasn’t sure how long we stayed there, kissing, moving together when a knock sounded on the door we leaned against.

“Yeah?” I rasped.

“Everything okay?” My dad, master of understatement and subtlety, was checking on us like he’d never gotten to do when I was a teenager. Melody giggled quietly into my neck.

“Yep, everything’s fine. Just fine.”

“Your mom just pulled out the pies. We’re all waiting for you two.”

Melody shook even harder.

“Okay.” I pulled back and looked down at her. Her lips were puffy, her eyes shiny and her hair was a mess. There would be no mistaking what we were up to, but, fuck, we were adults. “We’ll be there in a sec.”

“Uh-huh,” he muttered, but I heard his chuckle as he walked away.

Melody reached up and smoothed my hair then her thumb dragged over my bottom lip, making me suspect I looked a lot like she did. Tenderly, I straightened her hair. The silky strands fell right back into place. Unable to resist, I leaned in and brushed my mouth over hers again.

“Everyone will know what we were doing in here,” she said.

“Yep.”

Her brow furrowed, and a shadow passed over her eyes for the first time since we’d escaped to this room. Since we’d been at my parents’ actually. “Are they used to that because—”

“No!” I exclaimed, interrupting her before she could fully articulate the question. “Look, you’ll probably think it’s lame, but I’ve never brought a girl home.”

I huffed and looked away, my hands on my hips. “I’ve never… I’ve never felt like this about anyone else, like… I have to kiss you, I have to touch you, and I don’t care where we are.”
